I’ve been here twice at 7 a.m. when the store is scheduled to open and both times the manager has been late to work, leaving both myself and store employees to wait in the parking lot. My experiences have been mostly positive otherwise, but it’s pretty off-putting when the store doesn’t open when it should.

We booked an appointment to have a light harness fixed on our 2004 Blazer. The appt was agreed upon for noon, and was told that it would take approx 30 min.
I took the truck in and told them I’d be in the area instead of waiting on site, so please call me when it’s done. An HOUR later I walked back over, and it hadn’t even moved. I asked why not, and was told that another vehicle was on the lift (for a wiring job, why would they need the lift?). I was annoyed and asked why did I make an appt for noon and get told 30 min if it wasn’t ready to be done an hour later?
«well, the 11 o’clock appt wasn’t done yet» Two hours later?!
Poor time management.

I waited around, and was asked if I’d like to pass the time watching Netflix, which was nice, but didn’t get me out of there as expected.

I don’t usually review big corporate businesses, but the service I received here was so outstanding, I have to report it. My needs were modest– I had a few framed pictures to ship, but the manager, Sam, took care of me with speed and efficiency. She helped me decide upon the best packing materials and then wowed me with her clever packing skills. It was a free lesson and a free service. I was able to ship directly from the location and just now I received the package, right on time.

Great Experience, they took the time to explain everything. They tightened my hitch up and check all of the lights before letting me drive off. I will go there again.

There is only one full-service U-Haul shop in Lawrence, so… you get what you get.
I’ve had very open and honest service here, with most of the attendants looking to make sure customers get a fair deal. I wouldn’t say the agents are the most resourceful folks for resolving technical/mechanical problems outside the scope of normal operations, but then I guess they don’t really have to be.
Make sure you are clear with what you want, and press for a correction if you find a problem. You’ll be fine, if not overwhelmed.

accuse customers of damage when it was already there.
don’t follow up on promises of vehicles being ready when the reservation was made and they do little to make it up other than offer a smaller size.
go to budget or anywhere else if possible.
