Main Moon

I’m here now for the umpteenth time so i thought I may as well review. We moved to the area a few months ago and were looking for a good take out Chinese spot like the one back home. Luckily, my daughters teacher recommended this place and we’ve been regulars ever since. The food is fresh and portions are large. The prices are great and they have specials at lunch. I even have a few co workers going now. It’s small and I wouldn’t consider dining in but it’s perfect for takeout.

A small Chinese restaurant located right next to Ingles. It is a small store but they have good food with reasonable price and reasonable serving amount.
Customer service is fast and fair, the same as you would expect from a high functioning Chinese place.
So satisfy your take out cravings or Chinese food love here and you will not regret it.

Best Chinese take-​out around! I’ve been going here for as long as they’ve been open, and not a single disappointment with any of my orders. I’ve even introduced friends from out of town to Main Moon, and when they come back for a visit, they always ask if we can go back. Five stars is not enough, frankly.

This is my «go to» for Chinese take-​out. I’ve been there many times and everything is always excellent.

I find it funny when people give one star and lead with «I’ve been eating here for a while, and it’s always been good but this time…» Where are your good reviews from those other times?? I’ve been eating here for a while. I think this place is great! Good prices, good quality. It is what it is folks, a takeout Chinese place, nothing more, nothing less. If you want a good fast Chinese food at a good price this is your place. If you want PF Changs, customer service to the extreme, fancy fancy, and the price is included… This is not your place.

Worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. They give you lots, but lots of crap is still just crap. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else, anywhere else.

I love this place! I’ve been coming here for over four years and it’s always excellent. Food is good and fast, people are always nice and willing to tweak menu items based on my tastes. Great health score for anyone who cares… A!

Ordered some food to go, My order was promised in 10 minutes. When I arrived, the young men had really glassy, bloodshot eyes and seemed very euphoric. They had forgotten to make my food. When I got to my work, my food was completely wromg. When I called, I was told the manager might not be available for a week or more, and they could not help me. I have spent a LOT of money here in the last 10 years. Never again.

Ok. Today was my first time ordering from them. The food was delicious, fresh and plentiful. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 was because they got my order wrong which they promptly replaced. Also they were quick.

Portion is very big, quantity over quality, very quick to prepare for a pick up. That pretty much sums it up.

A sit down Chinese restaurant is hard to find in Gwinnett. Most of the places like this one are small nondescript places tucked into small strip malls. Selecting a place by a parking lot full of customers isn’t easy. but if you watch this place for a few minutes they have a pretty steady stream of diners ordering to go.
Most chinese restaurants in the area also serve New York (Hong Kong style) food which is a bit more la-​choy (packaged) then it is flavorful but I was surprised by the fairly good quality of items from Main Moon.
The egg foo young was good, the crab rangoons were plentiful but the beef and broccoli and house fried rice was sub-​par and dried out.
I am always concerned when staff that handles the register is also packaging food but they had a current 100 A+ rating so if Gwinnett health is doing it’s job it may have been a one-​off occurrence.

I liked Main Moon until today. I have been ordering food there for awhile and it is always pretty good, but today the customer service ruined the place for me and I won’t be back. First of all, I think there is only one person there that speaks English and I think he is a teenager. That’s fine. But today I picked up an order that came to over $ 30 and the main thing I wanted was called «the happy family» which had lobster listed as the first ingredient, along with shrimp, scallops and beef. When I get home, not only is there no lobster, but there is chicken and pork added, a lot of pork, which my wife won’t eat (this was for her). I proceeded to call Main moon and asked why there was no lobster in my dish and the reply was that «oh, we don’t have lobster anymore». I asked the teenager if he thought it might be wise to take it off the menu or at least tell people there was no lobster when they order this dish, this was just followed by 30 seconds of silence… finally the kid says «so what do you want?» I say I would like to know that you will not continue to practice FALSE ADVERTISING and change your menu, AND instead of asking me what I want, I want to know what you would be willing to do to keep me as a customer? This too was just followed by 30 seconds of silence so I assumed that the answer to my question was… nothing at all… I also asked at least three times if there was anyone else I could speak with and this was always followed by silence… I guess Main Moon is relying on a teenage kid to run the business… oh well, there are plenty of Chinese places to order from and I will be taking my business elsewhere… You blew it Main Moon…

Okay, here is a quick review. I had to finally try it. Main moon. I usually come with others to pick up but never tried not one bite!
I have always said the food looked, smelled good. Its true, it is good. I paid just under $ 7.00 for my order of chicken fried rice/​sweet/​sour chicken. Puffy little tempura battered chicken bites very Hot from the temps!
The Food is really fresh. My friend talked me into buying a meal this time which is a huge portion and enough for later. My friend karen called ahead and got the lunch special shrimp fried rice. I missed out on saving about $ 2 cause lunch was over as we walked in to pick up her order.
Im glad i finally tried it myself and not just going off of what everyone else says! Glad they were right! Main moon ROCKS!

Fast, cheap and completely in control. A rock solid Chinese take out place. You will not have an epiphany when you eat the food from here. You will, however, marvel at the simplistic delight of the offerings and be thankful of the size of the portions. You also get some freebies if you order 15 or 25 bucks worth of food (Crab Rangoon or Egg Rolls). The food is consistently good. We’ve never had a «bad batch» or a different version of something we usually order.
They tend to under cook their broccoli. My only gripe.
