Shoney’s

My family went to this location with friends, 8 of us.
We waited over 40 min, and had to ask our server what was going on. I guess they were trying to get everything together, ok then, but 3 or 4 tables who came after us got their food first. :-((FYI — a frozen margarita took over 20 min to make) I ordered GRILLED chicken Caesar salad — the chicken was NOT grilled. It was defrosted frozen chicken and there was no taste to it. Dressing was so watery and it tasted… eek! It’s just a salad! How could they mess up? Dave and Buster’s serves much better chicken Caesar salad then here. My husband ordered a salmon dish with vegetables as a side. The salmon, no taste, frozen veggies, not even steamed right, no taste. My daughter and her friend ordered spaghetti dishes. No flavor, too watery (because the sauce was frozen I am sure), they didn’t even got the second bites. Our friend ordered chicken breast something dish, and ended up with some wings???
On Saturday at 5pm, they told us «we’ve run out the wings», really?
I wanted to talk to a manager, but he was in the kitchen the entire time so I couldn’t.
Our server came to our table asking how was everything a couple of times. She didn’t offer any drink to be refilled (glasses were empty, of course) so we had to ask her one drink at a time.
Anyway, this was the first visit and our last visit to Shoney’s. It was just terrible!!!
How could they possibly do business there??? No pride for what they serve?
They need some cooks, not part-​time food prep employees (and no manger in the kitchen).

We chose Shoney’s out of the rest of the food court. Bad choice. The waiter was nice, but the service was just overall bad. We waited 45 minutes. Maybe even longer for our food. Honestly, the food could’ve been better as well. Their sirloin was chewy as hell. And their wings were definitely not cleaned that well. We could see the chef the entire time. He was holding a phone to his ear the entire time we were here. What could you possibly have been talking about the entire time??? No clue. If you like long wait times, then this is the right place for you. If not, steer clear folks.

Walking around the mall we’ve seen this restaurant plenty of times and it’s always packed decided to give it a try. …was here for breakfast they have a small buffet with the usual pancakes biscuits and gravy nothing fancy the atmosphere is pretty nice staff very welcoming and attentive will be returning next time we have to stop and watch a movie.

Great food and half off appetizers Monday through Thursday from 7pm-​9pm, plus they have a full bar (beer, wine, alcohol!

This Shoney’s is the new Shoney’s going forward! Great fresh food, TV’s and a full liquor bar!

Should’ve left at the one hour mark and the non-​existent food in front of me. My family, a group of seven including myself, picked Shoney’s out of all the food court options because it was a sit-​n-​dine restaurant with waiting service. What a wretched experience. The restaurant was freaking freezing. Our food took an eternity. When I asked our waitress about our food after about 45 minutes, she replied saying that there was fifty tickets in front of us and that we would have to wait another 30 to 1 hour, a clear exaggeration. She had no idea what the hell was going on. The food itself wasn’t bad; I had no complaints about my burger. The portions were HUGE. Waitress did not come by even once after we got our food to refill our waters or ask if we needed anything else. Stay away from here… go to taco bell.

Food was nasty… mediocre…just ugh. Never again… worse food I had in a very, long time.

Food was great but service is so slow. Waited for everything… drinks, appetizers, bill.

Right from the start we knew something was wrong when we sat there for awhile without service and they were not busy at all. The bartender took our drink order but said our waitress was busy. Ummm… she was standing at the bar for 5 minutes not doing anything. She finally came over and took our order. I ordered the turkey club that I love. My friend ordered the bbq bacon cheeseburger. My friend’s came out wrong and my food had hair. Very disappointed. Had to wait on my food for another five minutes, the turkey was cold in the second club. The manager never came to our table, only visited the other tables. The receipt in the area marked Manager, where his or her name was blank. We asked waitress for name. She gave us his name, but of course he never visited or table. Lost our business for the future.

Hace algunos años, cuando mis hijos eran niños, acostumbrábamos ir a desayunar a Shoney’s. De pronto, todos estos restaurantes desaparecieron del área, pero ahora me sorprendí al encontrar uno cerca del lugar donde vivo. Que sensación tan agradable fue volver degustar aquellos platillos. Fue como retroceder en el tiempo.
We love Shoney’s breakfast buffet!!!

Shoney’s in the mall is very cool. They now have a bar and I must say who couldnt see the upgrades Shoney’s has made over the years? Burgers and food are causal dining legit. Unique that its in the mall & I like dining in a restaurant venue over the open food court mall area. It has a good looking buffet and you can taste that they have upgraded their menu. Way to keep it going shoneys. It is like an american icon, give them a shot.

Food was not bad just don’t order desert. I believe they had to go pick the Strawberries for my pie.
After 10 minutes I finally received my pie. It was a few strawberries thrown on top of a stale crust. Save your money and eat somewhere else!!!

I will never eat here again. I had the salad bar and halfway through eating I started feeling very ill. My family and I had planned an evening at the mall playing put put but unfortunately we had to go home immediately. It was the worst pain in my stomach. My doctor was certain it was food poisoning from the food sitting too long.

Horrible.
Only some of the entrees are fresh cooked. Would be nice if they let us know which ones may be cold or stale.
Talked to a manager about this and he appeared totally clueless as he gave me no confidence he understood or any positive reassurance.
Salad bar had several dried up selections, including the lettuce.
Overall rating is a double minus, will not be back ever.

Ate there this evening, horrible. Husband ordered a gin and tonic. Guess what they have tonic ever. Huh? He ordered the potatoe skins and sour cream was already melted when they came out. I got the blackened chicken Caesar salad but the parmesan cheese tasted bad, I sent meal back and no manager approached to find out why or apologize. Food took forever. Will never go there again.

Food was good. Service was awesome! Michael, the manager was a great host as well as our server.

Okay first the 20 minute wait… just to get a seat… then the additional 30 minutes to get my burger. which was not prepared how I wanted. Hmm. maybe it’s good? Sike. this would be considered decent compared to a Mickey Ds burger. Servers were not well trained, management didn’t know how to manage. Nothing good to say. oh wait my water tasted like water. so I guess that’s good.

Wish I could give more stars… As a kid I remember going to Shoney’s for the breakfast buffet and the dinner buffets. I heard they brought Shoney’s back so I decided to give this one a try. First of all the place is clean and has a full bar! Second the access to the buffet is weird as it clashes with the kitchen doors and food expo. We ordered a spin dip which came in 1 minute NO LIE, ordered a burger and it took 30 minutes to arrive. My sons pop corn shrimp took just as long. The staff is alright some you can tell is their first server job, so customer care, time management is not on the top of their list if they were to fix these issues they would probably get more positive then negative reviews.

Not good. All the food on the buffet had between sitting way to long. Dry and chewy. Hot Brown was so salty it was virtually inedible. The kids pizza is the smallest thing you have ever seen, and only comes in pepperoni, not a cheese only option. For all this expect to pay similar prices to Chili’s, Dave and Busters, our other similar style, but better tasting food.
Oh yeah, the microwaved chicken fingers were hard, dry, and disgusting.
However, the salad and toppings on the bar were good, so if you want a decent salad at the mall, you can at least get that here.

No stars is what this place gets!!!
We ate at the new shoney’s inside of sugarloaf mills and it was by far the worst experience ever.
I ordered a coffee and there was lipstick all over it.
The manager said «you know how you ladies are with your lipstick!» I don’t wear lipstick!
When the server brought me a new cup she held it by the rim of the cup where you drink from.
Our server was untrained and seemed like she didn’t want to be there. The manager didn’t seem to care about customer service at all.
Our server was digging inside her shoe into her socks, afterwards she grabbed some glasses and filled them. That is very unsanitary!
I notified the manager and he went and told the server in front of me to wash her hands.
Came back and made excuses for her saying she is new!
The table behind us had ask for new silverware fours times! And each time the silverware came out dirty!
That’s just nasty! For a brand new location, it’s really bad!
The health department really needs the come out there!

Try the Burgers or fish sandwich at the on the go! Great steaks on the full service side. It is really nice to see the Shoney’s brand updating the look and quality of both food and service. This location is in the food court of the mall, but don’t let that fool you, the food is great!
