Kestrel Vintners

Had to stop in here to taste their wines. Most of the ones on the street that I saw just seemed to have sweet wines or varietals that I wasn’t into… so to me this place was great! We did both the red and white tasting. I really liked the Sangiovese surprisingly, the blend was unique. The Syrah was very good to me as well. I think I also like the Sauv Blanc or the Rose. but the Blanc I believe. Nobody was in there at the time so it was nice to be able to sit and take our time and chat with the hostess. She was lovely and friendly and down to earth. I also paid $ 8 for some mulled wine which I shared with my boyfriend. I really liked the way that they made it. The heated the juice, not the wine first. spices added then poured the wine at the end, thus not comprising the quality of the wine in the end. It was very good and I noticed the difference. Most places blend it all together and sell it in the bottle. They do not. I appreciated that. The wine that they used to blend it with was The Lady In Red… so I bought a bottle of that… and she wrote down instructions for how they made it. Much appreciated. A good warm mulled wine on a cold Winter’s day hit the spot, especially there where the temps definitely sat near freezing every day… lots and lots of snow. Great experience.

We did a wine tasting here and although the gentleman that helped us was very knowledge he wasn’t the friendliest. However, he allowed us to taste a few extra wines to try and find the right fit for my picky taste :) We bought a bottle of the Leavenworth White and were pretty impressed with the selection they offered.

The wine slushies are so good. They have them in white and red wine. I highly recommend them. Great staff as well.

Sue and Crew at Kestrel, gave fantastic service and knowledge about the winery and the tasting room building. Jeff and I had traveled to Leavenworth for a Monday ⁶⁄₈ to check things out… Never did we expect to come home w/​wine. Then Chardonnay was fantastic and the Sangiovese was too good to pass up. Yep bottles followed us home.

We are having a wonderful afternoon with with Sue at Kestrel Vintners. We have chosen the wine and cheese pairing. Having a wonderful end to our vacation.
When on Leavenworth you need to make a point of stopping in at Kestrel Vintners of Front Street. Sit a spell have a tasting or a pairing. You will be happy you read this review.

AWESOME wine tasting! For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the gentleman was who served us during our wine tasting, but he loved to chat and at the same time, gave us our alone time to chat as well. Nowadays some wineries use the «stopper» gadgets to pour a certain amount (which this winery does use), but more than half the time he poured us more than the amount the gadget stopped to, which was awesome! There are 2 different wine tasting menus to choose from, which now i regret not trying both. In the end, we ended up buying 2 bottles (when I thought we wouldn’t buy any since we already bought bottles from other wine tastings) and are very happy with the bottles we bought!

A friend and I had a great last-​minute trip over to Leavenworth for the night, last Wednesday, 2÷4÷15. After walking and shopping all through the village, it was time to get a glass of wine. We decided to stop into Kestrel, shortly after 5:00 and we met Brian, he ran the wine shop. We tried a few samples of wine, then had a few glasses and we left with a bottle each. I purchased the 2010 Merlot. It was such a great time learning about the different wines and getting to know Brian, almost missed our 7:30 dinner reservations. We were in very good company, he was professional and extremely knowledgeable.
I’m not a wine connoisseur, but I give five stars to this winery, and especially to Brian who took the extra time to explain the differences in what we were tasting. We will definitely be back for more wine and tasting again at Kestrel!

Was here today January 14, 2015 and Alex helped us and we had the most enjoyable time in a tasting room ever enjoyed a bottle of their tribute red which was amazing even though there was construction going on upstairs and it was a little bit loud we had a very good time and Alex was very informative and educated us on the wines beautifully

I have been here twice and I am always impressed by their friendly, knowledgeable staff. Sometimes when you wine taste it’s a pretty blah experience, but these guys do a great job. Their tasting room is large and is always very accommodating to a couple or a group. In the summer they offer a wine slushie and in the winter they offer hot wine as well.

Best tasting ever. .down to earth, knowledgeable, and endearing. So many places to choose from but this nailed it on the head. Sort of a wino.. So this was impressive.

Had a terrific time doing a wine tasting here with some friends. Staff was very accomodating. One of the better tastings we did in Leavenworth. Really good wines so brought home several bottles and a very goodport wine and chocolate covered almonds for my husband.

Best hot spice wine on Leavenworth. Hints of spice, cranberry, orange and wine. Loved it. I can’t wait to come back for more ;)

We enjoyed the wine tasting and even bought a few bottles to take with us. Was a good selection and the service was great. We hope to make it back sometime.

My wife and I loved this place. They made the experience very pleasant. We did some wine tasting and then purchased a bottle of wine and a cheese tray to enjoy. They cleared a spot for us to set up near the window at the entrance which was great so that we could people watch at the same time. After we were done we purchased a case of wine that was a fantastic deal they had going on to take back home. We saved about 20% on the case compared to buying it at our local grocery store. We will definitely be back to this place. They are fantastic.

This was a fun tasting room. Busy. It seems there is something for everyone except nothing for me. The one cool thing was they have a wine granita machine. Unfortunately, due to WA State Law you can’t walk and drink the slushy wine on a hot summer day so you basically order it, sit there and people watch out the window. Great idea, but I think the concept might work better in Vegas.

My BFF always talks about wanting to try one so when we surprised her with a Leavenworth Bachelorette party, she insisted that we had to try one. When we walked it, we were immediately greeted by a host who was very knowledgeable of the wines available. Honestly, all we really cared about was the wine slushie so we just cut to the chase. There are three different options: red, white or a swirl of the two. The girls and I each got a small of the swirl and it was the perfect thing to drink on a sunny afternoon. I enjoyed it so much that I kept giving myself brain freeze. Annoying but whatever.
After we finished our slushies, we realized they also offer food. Oh well, that gives me an excuse to visit Leavenworth soon.

The hospitality was great and the the selection superb. We really had a good time and enjoyed the cheese tray aslo.

Kestrel is one of my favorite tasting rooms in Leavenworth, especially on a cold night during the holiday season. Kestrel has a wide variety of reds and whites and the staff is very knowledgable.
I can never leave without purchasing at lease one bottle from Kestrel.
