After walking around and enjoying the sights of Leavenworth, we stopped here for dinner at 4:00 p.m. on a Tuesday afternoon. Seated right away in a darling booth. It made the meal seem so intimate to have us enclosed like that. We ordered: Giant Pretzel: It’s more bread-like than pretzel, if you understand our meaning. My husband used butter and I used their house-made mustard. The mustard was FANTASTIC. I am regretting not buying a bottle now. Giant Dill Pickle: It was exactly as one would imagine a giant dill pickle. Delicious, crispy, and a tad sour! Beef Goulash: it was fall-apart-in-your-mouth delicious; no knife needed. It was perfectly cooked and not fatty at all. The gravy was delectable and a perfect consistency. The spätzle was the dish’s best friend/soulmate. Schnitzel«Wiener Art»: Schnitzel was as big as the plate and breaded so delicately. Spread a little of the mustard on top for an extra treat! I ordered fries instead of potato salad. Ambience, service, and food deserve more than 5 stars! Wunderbar!

Charming little Bavarian restaurant down below the main street of shops in the heart of Leavenworth on Front St. Given the high positive reviews/pics we choose this place for enjoying a special German dinner while having our brief stay. A young man playing an accordion really was a nice dining touch keeping in the Bavarian theme. Service was friendly and atmosphere cozy with cute carved booths. We started with a cup of the kraut soup and a German giant pickle… both great. One daughter ordered a garlic sausage plate that came with German potato salad and kraut. My other daughter and I decided to share their specialty Chicken Cordon Blue Schnitzel entrée that came with spatzel noodles w/cream sauce. Everything was great, especially the schnitzel, the chicken had the ham/swiss inside and then had a crispy golden crust, so delicious. And the spatzel had a nice texture different than traditional pasta, very good. Good mugs of German beer. The only thing that really didn’t get eaten was the German pot. salad, just different but not to say it wasn’t good. The overall experience was very enjoyable.

Favorite authentic German food in Leavenworth. We had a very short wait and were sat within 15 minutes on a Saturday evening. The food was amazing! Cordon blue schnitzel is the best I’ve ever had and recommended it to everyone we came with, everyone agreed. There was an accordion player that was killing it for hours on end and we had several servers stopping bye our table every 10 minutes or so to make sure all was good. This place rules!

I wanted to give this place a 5 star review, as the food was delicious and the service was great despite it being busy. However, those prices! I’ll caveat this review by saying that I lived in Bavaria, Germany for 4 years, and this place actually reminded me of many German restaurants that I’ve dined in.(Oh, it’s warm inside in the summer just like in Germany(no AC)). The food was prepared very well, and my schweinhaxe was every bit as good as I’ve had in Munich. But $ 32.99! The wife’s Cordon Bleu with spaetzle — delicious — but $ 23.99. I joked that this was German food at French prices, as anybody who has traveled Europe will vouch that similar meals in Germany run about 10 – 15 euro. It’s not like I come to Leavenworth often since I live in Ohio(I used to live in Olympia and came here a couple of times a year), so it was worth the splurge.

Walked out! Waited 15 – 20 minutes two people walked in … New hostess comes up and instantly seats them!!! Unorganized! Rude! Thank you for the apology… I will say everything smelled amazing but I was REALLY hungry and when the people got seated right away in front of me I lost my cool. I’ll be back again in September! Thanks

Truly an impeccable lunch experience! As a first time visit, I didn’t expect the food, the atmosphere and the service to be so «on point.» The prices are fair, too considering the quality. My date and I kept being surprised by how delightful it was and can’t wait to go back. Even if you don’t think«German food» would be to your taste I would still recommend that you go. The menu is varied enough and you can still experience this great place. It is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had not just in Leavenworth but anywhere.

This used to be the go to German restaurant in town, but not so much anymore. The décor is VERY German, but the food is mediocre. Better than most places in Leavenworth but not ad good as Mozart’s located right above.

Read a lot of great things about this place so on our first trip to Leavenworth it was our first restaurant we tried. The experience was awesome! The atmosphere is German of course and all the staff dressed up in old time costumes! There was live German music as well! For an appetizer we just had to order a pretzel. It was great and huge! I ordered their most popular dish, schnitzel cordon blue, which was fabulous! I ate it all and would’ve licked the plate if I weren’t in public! Beer was also amazing which is always a plus with us. Will definitely be back when we return.

The best German restaurant in this little fake German town. Great sausage, authentic German kraut and potato salad. Fun atmosphere, including live accordion music during our most recent visit(Friday night @ 6:30). I come to Leavenworth just for this restaurant.

It’s good presentation but the skin was way too hard to eat… inside pork was very tender, but a little bit dry not like what I had in Germany.

Amazeballs! I loved my dinner and I want to move here up top and eat here every day. Great part of my trip. I had the yaegersnitzell(spelling way off I know!) but I literally wanted to lick my plate clean! The music was great and had little man jamming along!

This was a decent German place. The food was ok, however, it was a little pricey. We order the Andreas Keller sampler and a side of pretzel and the Russian crumble cake for dessert. The dessert was the best part! It was decadent and not as sweet. Every thing else was just ok. However, we paid around $ 60 for just one entrée, one small pretzel and one dessert. It was a good place to sample German food but I don’t think it’s worth the price.

I chose to go to this restaurant based on Unilocal. It had go reviews. Also, Unilocal had its hours as open until 9pm. I was late getting town, but wanted to wait and eat here. I walked in at 8:10pm. I was seated at a table. Then, the hosted returned and said«we are closed». Really? Then why seat me? Plenty of other good restaurants. No need ever to eat here again.

Great spot to experience the Bavarian theme in this town! Food was good, nothing spectacular, but the portions were big! Service was amazing, and the decore is on the spot German. We got our drinks maybe 1 minute after ordering them(all 3 times!) and the waitress was always checking in on us. It was a cozy and comfortable end to our adventure filled day. We wanted the full experience without breaking the bank, and without sitting outside… And this definitely hit the spot!

Come here for tour. Food is okay, but the service is really really slow. Take so long for check and order!

For a road trip, my wife and I packed up the car and headed to Leavenworth. We have been through there a few times, enough to find an eatery that I liked and made a point to stop at every time we went through. This time, we wanted to try something different, so before we left, I looked to Unilocal to find what is presented as the best German restaurant in Leavenworth. Number one is Andreas Keller, so with that, this was going to be the place we would try out on this trip. I was familiar enough where the restaurant was located, but we still stumbled across the location on accident. Walking down the short flight of stairs was not a deterrent. We arrived around lunch time, and fortunately both the lunch menu and the dinner menu was available. The host was a very nice gentleman, who introduced himself as the husband of the owner, and he seated us in one of those barrel booths that you see in the photos. It fit us very cozy. The restaurant was not too busy, and I was able to snap a few pics of the great woodworking and paintings that are throughout the establishment. When it comes to German food, I tend to stick with the same main dish everywhere I go, which is fare when visiting German places, which is Wiener Schnitzel. The sides are about the only thing I change up. My kids both had the hot dog and pretzel kids meals, and my wife had the jägerschnitzel. In a very short period of time, our meals were ready. Presentation wise, my plate was full of food. Cold German Potato Salad was the side dish that graced my plate for a very short period of time, as it was delicious and I ate that quickly. My wife’s sides actually were better than the potato salad, she had red cabbage, which was easily the best I have ever tasted. It wasn’t too sweet, the spices perfectly complimented the red cabbage, and it was just excellent. Her other side was homemade spätzle. It was also the best I have ever tasted. The noodles were moist and egg-like, and some sauteed mushrooms were the perfect accompaniment with the spätzle. My wife is not normally a fan of spätzle, but even she loved it. Her meal was excellent, this kids, who are picky, ate their meals quickly. On to the schnitzel, which was the best part(and I would say most important item on my plate)! The breading was perfect, lightly coated but a good crunch, and not too heavy on the taste, allowing the pork to come through. The portion size was excellent, especially for the size. The side dish of their homemade mustard was excellent, but I gave it to my daughter for her pretzel after trying it out a few times on the schnitzel. I think the only thing that would have made the meal better was another side dish with my meal. I could have paid more for it(there is a sides menu, I could have ordered more) but the meal was excellent. I haven’t mentioned the service yet. The waitress was attentive, engaging, and friendly. My water glass never once went empty. Well before my beer was empty, I was asked if I wanted another. The food, the service, the experience, is hitting on all cylinders. This is an easy 5 stars. The owner’s husband was very kind and very nice to speak with. I would absolutely go back, and will go back after such a good experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you! The value for the dollar, excellent service, and the very quick turn around from order to food on the table has me admitting that this is my new favorite restaurant in Leavenworth!

Good German food. Loved the Polish, Debreziner and Chicken Garlic sausages. The sausage sampler is one of the best things we tried as it have is the opportunity to try all of the various sausages. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to sample but be prepared it you are small group then it will be very filling. The beers were good, as is expected from a German place. We all liked the Hefe(the Radler is something interesting if you have not tried it ever) and Dunkles. I am sure we should have tried more of the beers. The Black Forest cake was also good.

Pretty delish. Oddly enough, the house side salad was one of my favorites, especially the dressing. It’s the only dressing they have and it is sooo good. I am a huge fan of the dill… I would skip the $ 3 rye bread though. Heff beer was decent but could have been colder. I got the Bavarian sausage and the white veal sausage with sauerkraut & German potato salad. All was GREAT. My husband got the Cordon Bleu schnitzel and he loved it also. Cleaned the whole plate! The hostess was a little scatterbrained but our waitress was good. Food came out fast! Long wait at the door though.

This was such a fun experience for our group. The food was really good. We asked a lot of question as we had little experience with the kind of food and the waitress was very knowledgable, I asked her to just give us an assortment of what she thought was the best and she was so incredibly excited to do. We told her we just didn’t have very much experience with German food and she explained what every thing was and why we would like it. And we did!

I am no expert on German cuisine so please take my review with a pinch of salt However I think the food here was OK. . it was pretty cheap compared to other places in Leavenworth… The portion was hugeeeeeeee… cost performance wise. This place is solid Schnitzel was right on point … Taste good and not too oily or too soaky The service was great as well. Maybe because it wasn’t busy when we went in so the servers were pretty friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was decorated in a Bavarian style … Located in the basement, there was no reception for both at&t and T-Mobile Minus one star for very limited selection of food… But otherwise I really love this place!

Im Himmel gibt es kein Bier aber bei Andreas Keller gibt es viel! Saturday morning I wake up and there is a text from my dark-haired beauty Jennifer. She said let’s have breakfast… in Leavenworth or something. An hour later, we’re en route to Leavenworth. The view was gorgeous; the small Bavarian-themed village with a backdrop that can only be described as breathtaking. It is wonderful and pretty and touristy… which is a possible side effect when you visit tourist-themed towns. ha Andreas Keller was recommended to Jenn by a friend, so we went downstairs into the Keller and I immediately liked the décor. It was loud, boisterous and the energy was great. It reminded me of all of those movies you watch where the opening scene is the Alps, 30 below and a blizzard to end all blizzards. The near-dead traveler walks down into the pub and a warm fire with even warmer bar maidens(and bar men, too, rowr) await you with a pint and more Schnitzel than you can shake a stick at). Our booth was almost like climbing in a wine barrel; it was pretty cool and the best part is my friend Jenn was giggly and here eyes sparkled and she was like a big kid… I loved it. We ordered Polish, Weisswurst, Knackwurst Scnitzel. Weisswurst is made from veal and I didn’t pay attention to that; otherwise, I would have eaten that… I just ordered it because it was a white sausage and I thought, eh, what the hell. Ironically the Polish sausage won the contest. The Weisswurst was soft and creepy and I didn’t like the texture; the Knackwurst was like our bologna wrapped in a casing and cooked. It was good, but I wanted catsup with it, not mustard, ha. The homemade, out-of-the-warmer fresh Prezel was enough to make you cry… Holy Crapballs that was good stuff! It was my favorite, but I am a carb junkie and good bread and pastries are my favorite. I had the cordon bleu ham, schnitzel thing, which was a heavenly breaded affair infused with ham and cheese and just in case I didn’t get enough carbs, Spatzel, which are egg noodles were included as side. We left the restaurant and I actually had to sit down and let all of that sink in… a lovely stroll for about an hour later and we were ready for taffy. To summarize, Go for it! You have a big appetite? They will challenge you with generous portions, reasonable prices, and we had the best server ever; she was great. I wish I remembered her name because she deserves a shout-out!
