The schnitzels are good! The red cabbage is delicious!!! Sadly my favorite part of the meal. Beer list and wine list unimpressive. Don’t base your judgement on all spätzle after eating it here. That goes for the«German» pretzels too. They are not good here nor do they resemble anything you would get in Getmany.

As we walked in my first impression was good. Clean and presentable. Hostess and waiter very nice. I ordered the Huhner Schnitzel, but didn’t notice it had a mustard sauce :(I hate mustard. The waiter did offer to bring me another plate, but I didn’t want them to go through the trouble. That was my fault. Over all it was good. But even though my hubby got a tasty plate, I think it didn’t wow us to go back. If you have never gone, it’s worth trying.

This restaurant was so accomodating for my last minute reservation on a Saturday night! Such a cute little upstairs space and the food was incredible. We were looking for authentic German food and even our taxi driver said we picked the best restaurant in town! Score!

I went here 3 times in probably under 30 hrs. Jäger was insane, the spätzle was unreal, then the 2nd time around we discovered the French onion soup and good god! The pretzel, the Bavarian sampler, the mustard, the cabbage, the beer it is all winning and this is without a doubt the best place to grab food in town.

Our first trip here, based on a recommendation we got from a couple we met at a wine tasting down the street. We ordered the Gilroy appetizer(bruschetta with blue cheese & roasted garlic)– it was even better than our entrees! HIGHLYRECOMMEND. For entrees we got Jaeger Schitzel with spitzel instead of potatoes(also by recommendation– definitely a better choice), and the Monte Carlo sandwich, which was delicious but a little heavy. All the beer is good of course. Our service was fast and friendly. Great view of downtown Christmas lights, still up at the end of January! Would come again.

I took my boyfriend to Leavenworth for the weekend and had researched this place first on Unilocal. It had good reviews and so I thought that this was going to be a good choice. I don’t eat meat, but they had really good salad menu, and in the end I had gotten a fish dish that was very yummy. My boyfriend loves German cuisine and was very excited about this place. He got the sausage sampler. He loved the potato salad, but felt the sauerkraut wasn’t fresh and kind of dried out, and that the sausages were a little over cooked. So, he was disappointed. I really enjoyed my fish dish with veggies, and my glass of Pinot Gris. He didn’t enjoy the beer that he had as well. Also, as it was his birthday, they did give us a free piece of German chocolate cake which was warm and yummy as well. So there were some pluses as well as minuses. After seeing all the other very positive Unilocal reviews though, my boyfriend was a little let down by the quality of the Bavarian cuisine. Perhaps they were having an off night? Not sure.

So my girlfriend and I stumbled on this place to watch a Green Bay game, and to be honest we weren’t that hungry and didn’t find the menu that interesting. Not that I don’t love German food… we ended up ordering some small appetizers and soup. The French onion soup as others have pointed out is amazing. Maybe best I’ve ever had. We also got the Brussel sprouts and these were phenomenal. My girlfriend hates mustard, and even with the mustard sauce in the Brussel sprouts she loved them. We also got a Reuben soup which was every bit of a Reuben in soup form and every bit as good. But by far the best thing we had was the fräulein, which is deep fried Camembert cheese with crab-raspberry almond sauce and crackers. This is a must if you try this place!

Meh. Bavarian Bistro was good enough, but I wouldn’t go there again. First of all, I have to say, the pretzel was a total disappointment– chewy and tough. Schnitzel was fine, french onion soup was okay. The red cabbage was delish– had a hint of cinnamon or cloves or something. I will rave about the roasted brussels sprout. Wish I could remember the name of the dish… so great! Atmosphere was meh– kind of dingy, nothing special. Service was mediocre.

Did not have dinner. Sat at bar. Good beer selection. Absolutely worst pretzel I have had in my life. Do not even think about it, please. Maybe the rest of the food is better? I’ll never find out.

Wanted some authentic German dinner. I decided on the jäger schnitzel based on recommendations from my mom and dad. It definitely did not disappoint. The portions were huge and the food was delicious! Can’t wait to go to the Christmas Tree Lighting so we can go back for some delicious German food. The service was great also. Our drinks were never empty and the waitress even found something to accommodate my 18 month old grandson until our dinner came.

Sat outside on a beutiful sunny day. We were seated right away, 2pm on a Monday. Draft beers are Hofbrau and Paulaner, Pilsner to Hefe Wiezen. The only reason I go to German Restaurants is for Jaeger Schnitzel. This Schnitzel was a smaller portion then I would have like. When I said something to our server she said it was the lunch portion and I should request the dinner portion if I want a larger serving. Good to know for the future. It was cook correctly and the breading was not mush. The spatzel was, well spatzel. I’ve never been anywhere that screwed that one up and I could say the same for the red cabbage. The hunters gravy was good, not the best. It may have had more wine or vinegar than I prefer. Its very hard to find good German Restaurants and this one definitely is. We hope to return for a dinner our next stop in WA.

Ordered the Granada which was a veggie burger and another appetizer which was akin to garlic bread. Neither me or my wife liked the food. It was edible of course. But the bread had a strong smell of cheese or meat. The garlic bread seemed sour, probably the cheese. I ordered a Hefeweizen. It seemed a bit mild. Maybe I was expecting something different from the whole experience. But was not flattered by the whole thing. Won’t go back again. Meat lovers will probably love this.

Wife and I visited this place while checking out the town. Was looking for good German fare and was not disappointed. Had a sampler dish(knackwurst, nockwurst, bratwurst) and jäger schnitzel. Would definitely come back next time we’re in the neighborhood

Came with the kiddos for dinner. It’s a tight fit in some spaces of the eating area. Server was new, but helpful, and willing to get the answers. We shared an appetizer of meats/cheese/bread. It is 3 meats, 1 cheese, 1 bread. However, it all tasted very good. Who knew Bologna was really yummy? My beer was excellent. The schnitzel was just okay. Meat was tough. Not very crisp. The bacon cream sauce was just okay. I prefer the mushroom sauce, but the boys wanted bacon. My kids loved the spaetzle. It was very tasty. And surprisingly, the red cabbage was a hit with the kids as well. They thought it tasted like candy. I had to have a bite at that point, and well, it was good. Not something I normally like, but this was good! We also had a sausage plate. The bratwurst was great. The borstwurst was not. The pretzel roll(extra $) was super yummy. The potatoes were fine. The sauerkraut was just ok. None of us love it, so can’t really say it was good or not. We opted to try some desserts as well. Apple Strudel said it came with ice cream… none was on our plate. Lemon cake was good. Chocolate torte good too. We had a fun time exploring German foods. It was all good. but nothing super special that wow’ed me. We had good service. All in all a good meal.

Been here a few times now. The atmosphere and theme is fun. The prices were about average for a tourist town and the service quality has always been good. I have had some fun times here and each and every time, I recall having some good memories. This means that my mind isn’t on waiting for service or wondering why I’m here since the food was also not too shabby. Happy hour is definitely a good time to visit and the selections of HH goods are very impressive. The bar is fully stocked and with extra flavors too if you’re looking for an adventure. I’m a fan definitely but I can’t justify 5 stars for perfection at this time. maybe on my next visit?

We came in here to get out of the extreme heat, and go grab a drink and maybe some food. Also, one of our party members knew the bartender here, so she wanted to say Hi. Let me say our bartender Asia is probably the best bartender in Leavenworth. She is quick, and knows hers drinks very well. She is super friendly, and takes care of everyone so well. While we where there I order the Rahm Schnitzel, really good. Also our group ordered the deep fried Brussel sprouts. Holy crap those are amazing. But why only a four star? Well, it had nothing to do with service, or quality of product. While I was sitting there I noticed the bartender having to poor out beer after beer, because it was getting too much head. I finally asked why are the beers coming out like that. They informed me that they had a leak in beer line. They cannot find where the leak is. I felt so bad for them. Too many beers wasted. I really hope management takes care of the problem, so their bartenders can do not have to keep dumping beer after beer to pour a good beer. And they have really great happy our prices.

Delicious food! We went here for lunch on a Saturday and there was surprisingly not that many people. We got there right before noon and was expecting a line, but there wasn’t one. However, around 12:30pm, that’s when lots of people started coming in. The service is good and the food came out less than 10 minutes after we ordered. The dishes are a little pricier than other sausage restaurants(i.e. Munchen Haus), but you do get a nice ambiance in a sit-down restaurant.

One of the only places open for some late night foods nearby. They had some live music going at the bar and a good amount of people too. We Unilocaled before we arrived and saw a picture of the menu and prices from a couple months ago. Man, have their prices gone up! Our small meal for two was composed of the jäger schnitzel(18) and a sample of sausages(11) which came with three half brats. Pricier than expected but I guess thats how tourist destinations work. Food was good and music was great. Service was great considering how busy the place was. If only the costs were lower! Also its interesting to see the menu, which is very Bavarian on one side, but quite French on the other.
