Stopped by for a quick lunch and was not disappointed! Friendly and quick service and exceptional food. I would highly recommend the chili! Yum!

Good inexpensive place to eat when you are visiting this little German town. Great for the family, just be prepared to wait. Not quite the fastest place. Yet I keep going.

Average restaurant my sausage dog was really tasty. Everyone enjoyed the food. After driving for a while it was good to stop and see the down and enjoy a nice lunch.

I was put off at the start by the elevator smelling like urine. The restaurant itself is dingy and having an identity crisis. The concept of having a soup and salad place would do well, but this restaurant needs a serious make-over and deep cleaning. The food was mediocre at best.

Service was great food was great! Everything was reasonably priced. Only thing they could improve upon is the single ply tp but they balance it out well with the western family hand soap. Will refer friends

The food was okay. In my opinion, it was a little overpriced. I ordered the Banger and a hot buttered rum = $ 16 before tip. The sausage itself was flavorful & I loved the sauerkraut. But I really wish they took the extra second to heat the bun it was served on. The guy at the register seemed to get flustered kind of easily & as a result, one of my friends’ order was missed.(The restaurant wasn’t busy at the time we got there) Other than that, the lady floating around was very warm and friendly & checked on us frequently to fill waters, etc. So big thanks to her!

Pretty sure this was just a bunch of Progresso soup cans dumped into soup pots. This was definitely not homemade soup, and definitely not worth the price. If you’re looking for good food in Leavenworth, keep going past The Soup Cellar. If you want overpriced canned soup and a dry dinner roll, this is the place for you! The two stars were just for the decently friendly staff.

If you like frozen and canned food this is the place for you. Salad bar and staff are okay. …otherwise run elsewhere.

Advertising all you can eat prime rib we were sold. Ordered the meal and then looked around at an outdated. The all you can eat was pretty much a salad, soup that had been sitting all day and canned corn dumped in a pan. The prime rib was lacking flavor, overcooked, it wasn’t sliced up and we had to keep asking for it to be sliced. Not impressed. I wish we would have ate somewhere else.

Basically, an average fare restaurant. I ordered the white chili and salad bar. The white chili tastes like a soul food bean dish. Tasty if I was looking for soul food but I don’t see the connection to chili. The salad Bar had the basic options but nothing else. Overall, just basic fair. In addition, I was a little confused by the theme of the restaurant. It was a combination of 1980s American Music all these, lots of dollar bills all over the walls with peoples messages, and attempt to infuse German themed pictures. I couldn’t tell what the focus of the restaurant was. I highly recommend at the restaurant revamp their theme, basically pick one and do one thing well as well as revisit their menu.

This place was very unassuming and I had second thoughts about eating dinner here after being disappointed the evening prior at another local place. You order your food then they bring it to you. They had a special on prime rib which was why we went to check it out and when we saw the look of it we were ready to leave but then decided looks don’t mean much so we would give it a shot. If you’re looking for nothing fancy straight up diner burgers and fries then this place is worth the stop. The food tasted awesome and the service was not bothersome. The beer selection was also appreciated.

My family used to go to Wenatchee /Leavenworth all the time when I was a kid and every time, we had the prime rib buffet at The Soup Cellar. So naturally, when I finally got to return to the area(a week ago) some 12 years later, I had to go back for tradition sake. First off, the ambiance. I remembered it being a lot darker when I was a kid. It seemed actually fairly bright this time. Almost, uncomfortably so. It wasn’t glaringly bright but it seemed like dim office lighting. Not as warm, but not upbeat either. The place is pretty small with only a few tables, and they have dollar bills that various visitors have contributed(with messages written on them, usually) pinned around the place. It’s not very Bavarian-looking, but it’s still charming. I remembered it being packed as a kid so when we were able to get in early for dinner, we went right around 5pm(it’s from 5−8pm). There was only one other couple at a table. The whole time we were there, only a few other tables filled so I’m not sure if we beat the crowd or if the crowds have died down over the years. Next, the service. You pay upon arrival and then eat, like Sizzler. The girl that greeted us was very friendly and welcoming. There was a guy there(they were both pretty young) who was even more upbeat and friendly — not just to us but to other patrons as well. Since the buffet is self-serve, we weren’t waited on but seeing others get waited on, they seemed to receive great service also. And now for the food — Salad Bar — Pretty good. Moderate selection, roughly equivalent of Round Table’s salad bar. For a pretty small establishment, I’d say they have a fair selection for the salad bar. Soup — 5 Kinds of soup! Chicken Noodle, Beef Pot Roast, Tomato Basil, Split Pea w/Ham, and one other soup I can’t remember. I tried the chicken noodle and the pot roast and both were very good. The chicken in the chicken noodle sadly looked like canned, but the soup itself was still good. The pot roast soup had lots of veggies. Roll — It was a roll. Not your standard dinner roll but not the crusty bread kind, and not the sweet yeast roll kind. It was a roll. Baked Potato — This was also just a baked potato, though they do offer a variety of toppings for the potato in the salad bar(sour cream, scallion, real bacon bits, etc). Corn — The menu says«buttery corn» but really it tasted and looked more like«we bought this frozen» corn. It didn’t look or taste buttery, it was definitely buffet corn, floating in corn water. I hate to say it but yes, it was tasteless. Prime Rib w/Au Jus — This is what you come here for, and this makes up for it! The edge pieces were«well done» but the inside pieces were DELICIOUS. Rare, very tender, and hearty, good-sized slices. My memory of the prime rib from many moons ago was actually not anywhere as good as what the prime rib was when we went last week. If you aren’t up for rare prime rib, they are more than happy to throw it on the grill for a few and take it up to a medium or well for you, but I’m not sure who would want to destroy a steak like that. :) Dessert — I believe dessert was an ice cream sundae(it does come with dinner) but we were too full to eat that so I can’t comment on it. I just know that it’s vanilla ice cream with your choice of sauce. And lastly — the price. Current price for the prime rib buffet is $ 19.99 which comes with a drink(with refills). It’s a full meal, for sure. Overall, I would recommend it and as long as they remain I’m sure I will keep going there whenever I’m in the area. Everything but the prime rib and the soup are sort of «average», but the prime rib is excellent and soups are good. Service was very friendly. It holds a special place in my heart from tradition, and my boyfriend really enjoyed the meal as well — particularly for the prime rib.

The burger was a frozen burger, tasty but the fries were better. I had the prime rib buffet. Prime rib was great but the salad bar needed some work. Iced tea was nasty like it was sitting out since breakfast. Typical prices you see around town. Atmosphere was bland, dollar bills hanging around everywhere.

Let me start by saying the food was good, but there were a couple of issues. To start you order at the counter like a fast food joint but it has the feel of a café, the entrance to the place is on the other side of the line of people that are ordering there food soy are forced to walk through them. Second they charge regular soda fountain price for there soda but no refills, even know you rill it your self like at McDonalds. If you are willing to spend almost twice the price(almost $ 3) for a soda(called a large but the same size as the regular) you are then permitted to get one refill. the table we sat at was very wobbly so if you bumped it at all it felt like it was about to fall over. The food was good, I ordered the«Banger w/cheese» and it was very good. As for only giving it 3 stars, the food was good and the price reflected it, but the atmusphire did not.

The place is not fancy by any stretch. But by my eyes, it’s charming. The decorated dollar bills on the walls are unique and interesting. The place has got a very laid back vibe, go in with that same mindset and you’ll find the food reasonably priced and worth every penny.

Once again what a disappointment. Bland food, 2 sausages tasted like hot dogs off the sampler I tried. The customer service was terrible. You would think a «German themed» town would give way better food…

Great little find… staff at Kris Kringle recommended this place and said they order lunch quite often from here. We weren’t disappointed, waitress was friendly and made a few suggestions that helped me order a very tasty Reuben sandwich. I’m not much for German potato salad so I had the tomato and ravioli soup, which was very good too. There was plenty of great tasting meat on the sandwich and the marble rye was toasted perfectly! Would definitely go back again.

Holy crap. Operative word: «crap». The soup is OK — tried the chicken noodle and split pea, and had a salad side chicken breast — probably the worst chicken breast ever… EVER. The wait staff was a mix bag… one very nice, the other one can only be described as bitchy, at best. 2nd star given for the«reasonable» brats(as described by Gwen) that tasted like«hot dogs»(as described by Ann). I would totally NOT go back if I can help it. It’s super awful.
