The woman here was really pushy from the minute we walked in the door. She offered us a sample of fudge, which we took. It was okay, nothing that great, but she went on and on about how it’s all Belgian blah blah blah, and kept showing us big chunks so she’d know how much we wanted to buy. We told her we were just looking around, and we went over to the truffle case to see what they had. Well she followed us over and proceeded to name all the truffles(even though they were all tagged), and point out which ones were her favorites(which was at least half of them). Argh. We decided to get one of their«drop» style cookies, and she acted all pissy when we said we only wanted one to share(they were HUGE cookies), and kept saying we should get 2. Nope, we only wanted 1, and only bought 1. And my mom makes better drop cookies than that.

all the buildings in Leavenworth are close together and oh-so cute. makes you feel like you’re in a winter wonderland during christmas time. they’re big on the lights and snow… it’s so beautiful– and so is walking into this store. it’s truffle city in here– but my favorite was getting an ice cream scoop in a belgian waffle cone. yum!

I can’t pass up a chocolate shop anywhere I go anywhere in the world, so it was a natural to stop in. Plus, the building is so Bavarian cute. Many of these are Belgian style — whatever that really means — and they all taste amazing. Huge variety of truffles(yet another item my road to hell is paved with) and lots of stuff covered with chocolate like nuts and gummy bears. The barks are outstanding, and they have fudge, but all I walked away with was lots of truffles. Dark chocolate, brandied orange, amaretto, espresso… I’m getting all misty eyed thinking of them.
