WHYYYYYY. The midwest should be completely ashamed at what it calls frozen yogurt! I guess people like it because these mass-flavor, corporate fro-yo chains with their thin and flavorless generic yogurt are all we have around here. SIGH. This place doesn’t even have a tart/regular flavor. POUT. Also, this location has a tip jar, which I find so annoying, because the cashier literally does nothing but ring you up. OK I know I’m getting a little dramatic over some yogurt, but if you’d ever had good stuff, you’d give me a hug and say you understand!

I’m sure you are all aware that today, scratch that, this entire month has not just been hot. It’s been crazyhotterthanapilaofhellgods hot. Sure, we can sweat it out inside where it’s nice and air conditioned, but are you then going to want a plate of hot food for lunch? Oh hellll, no. But you’re not going to want to be licking ice cubes all day either(or are you?) Ice cream sure sounds good, but at what cost? Tons of sugar, milk fat and the like(sorry I’m ruining it for you, folks). I mean, it’s fine for dessert, but probably not the best option for lunch. Enter the froyo! Feel free to load that seemingly far too large container they provide for you up with frozen goodness, cuz it’s got nutritional value and other good stuff like pro biotics. I’m all about the tart. It’s your most refreshing option(it also has the least sugar). OL’s plain is tasty, but I prefer mine more on the tart side. Throw on some berries and mango caviar. Yes, you deserve it, for it’s a million degrees out there and you’re probably not going to be be wanting a hearty dinner anytime soon. Your body will thank you for the internal cold shower. Know what I’d love to see in a froyo joint, though? Something different! Some creativity besides offering insane flavors that sound good but taste artificial(cookies & cream, birthday cake…) An atmosphere that doesn’t include the blinding whites and pastels and/or neon colors. Who isn’t getting all these places mixed up? Their names all seem to include a fruit and then either vine, wave, leaf etc. All I’m asking is that the next place does something a bit different to distinguish itself from the rest of the bunch. FYI, Orange Leaf tiny bit cheaper than some of the other froyo options in town. Rejoice in the patio seating if the inside is not our scene. Maybe when it’s merely 85 degrees and not 105, this will be attractive to me again.

I drive all the way from Gladstone to go here. Best froyo around. Good price too!

14 frozen yogurt flavors, 36 topping choices including fresh fruit. What more can you ask for as a snack?

Didn’t think I’d be a fan of frozen yogurt, but this place is great. I tried other places but I like the flavors here the best. And the options for toppings are much better. Peanut Butter is the best flavor and I would love to see a coffee flavored one! And don’t forget to get a membership card for 10% off! I work in the area so I’ve been addicted and going there at least once a week. Too bad it’s getting chilly, otherwise, I’d be there all the time! Bonus, they have wifi, if you are just hanging out. Boo on only getting two sample cups but that’s ok for me cuz I’ve found my fav flavor already.

I really enjoy ice cream, frozen custard, gelato and frozen yogurt. Loved: Pay by the ounce, pile on your own toppings, and a variety of frozen yogurt choices. They have lots of toppings including fruit, candies, cookies, and hot fudge. Lots of fun to mix it up. You can even feel free to mix your frozen yogurts too. I enjoyed the coffee and french vanilla mixed with some crushed oreos. I got just enough for me and paid $ 2.75, good deal in my book. Didn’t like: We went on a summer week night and it was very crowded with lots of loud teenagers. There wasn’t enough seating and the layout seemed compact and confusing. You start on the right side where the bowls are, get your froyo then toppings then they weigh it and you pay. Simple, but people couldn’t seem to figure it out. My husband had the strawberry flavor, without realizing it was a fat free flavor when he got it. It really did taste TERRIBLE. it was icy and not flavorful at all. Maybe simply b/c it was fat free. Either way he left disappointed and now won’t go back with me.

I really do like the frozen yogurt, ice cream, and gelato craze currently taking over KC. I’ll ride the wave until it dies down and only the strong have survived.(In particular I like the idea of paying per ounce. I’m small, and wherever I go, I get roped into paying for a lot of food, when all I want is a bit.) I have visited another Orange Leaf location, and compared to that, this one is pretty small, meaning they actually have fewer of the flavors of frozen yogurt. Otherwise, the girl behind the counter was VERY friendly and willing to help.
