Good, clean diner that is reliably open. Breakfast all day, so that’s an option for vegetarians. Considering that it’s a holiday today, and I needed something veg, I’m happy I wandered over to this place.

Ate at Elm Street while visiting family in town. The food was very reasonably priced and was quite delicious. I liked how the menu had a variety of comfort foods to choose from. The restaurant was pretty much brand new after being replaced from a apparent fire. The server we had was new but knew the menu in and out. Owner was also friendly and kept the kitchen open for us considering how close to closing we came in. Food came out quick which was great too. Definitely worth the stop in if your in town and you don’t want to eat at the normal«fast food» places in town.

This by far is my favorite place to eat in Lebanon for breakfast. Who knew that the breakfast for dinner is just as good! The customer service always exceeds expectations and I’ve never had a bad meal here. Also, the charming waitress staff always brightens the day. I would like to give a special thanks to our waitress«Jen» for giving us such wonderful service and for treating the veterans with the upmost respect. THANKYOU!

Visited for the first time last night. My son loved his club sandwich and fries, but I was much less impressed with my meal. I ordered chicken fried chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, and cooked carrots. The chicken was too salty, the potatoes were bland(couldn’t detect any garlic), and the carrots were water logged. I requested a substitution for the carrots and got steak fries. They were huge like potato wedges, but still not extremely flavorful. I’m not sure I would return.

Good home cooking with moderate portions. The staff was friendly and service was great. The décor matched the cuisine, having a country flavor, being fresh instead of rustic.

Way better breakfast than the alternatives; Steak n Shake or Waffle House. Was like a real home cooked meal with excellent service, great food and large portions for the money! Would go anytime in the area!

It’s awfully easy to punt and eat at some chain restaurant in Lebanon, but taking a chance on Elm Street Eatery can be rewarding. It’s nothing fancy, but I’ve never had anything there I didn’t enjoy, especially breakfast, which you can have any time of day. The breakfast skillets have always been good. Recently I ordered the vegetable skillet with what they call«roasted reds» for potatoes. Good Lord, it was good! All the vegetables-onions, peppers, broccoli, and the potatoes were roasted, which added a whole new dimension to the dish. The scrambled eggs in it were fluffy and delicious. You also get your choice of any kind of bread with it, including a pancake. I got a biscuit and gravy which was good, but I couldn’t finish it; I wasn’t letting any of that skillet go to waste! Mom said her pancakes were terrific, and the piece of ham I had to help her finish was good as well. Our waitress was very friendly and kept up with my coffee drinking, which is an accomplishment. I was delighted to find out they’ve gone smoke-free since my last visit. It’s one of my favorite places to eat when I visit Mom.

Delicious home cooking in a smoke free restaurant. The chicken fried steak with pepper gravy was amazing with green beans and awesome garlic mashed potatoes and gravy with herbs. The homemade rolls and wonderful assortment of hot teas rounded out a great meal. I will definitely be back.

This was formerly Country Kitchen, and when they dropped the chain name, we worried the food would change, but it is every bit as good as ever! Great service, friendly waitresses.

Clean, friendly waitress, outstanding onion rings! Food was above average although my wife’s chicken was grilled when she ordered fried in a salad. We did not send it back as we didn’t want to wait. Overall a nice place and yes we would go back. Would have given 4 stars if her order had been correct.

I didn’t expect much but the service and food were excellent! Walked in to a full lobby but we’re seated quickly. Our food came out quick & hot! The chicken was moist and buttery. The prime rib was a perfect medium rare and the steak and mushroom skillet was divine! Will definitely stop in again!

Best pancakes in town! We have breakfast here regularly and always leave satisfied. Being non-smokers, we are very happy it is now completely smoke-free. Get there before nine and take advantage of their early-bird specials.

Upon talking to other people about my experience there, it has been made appearant that I am not the only one that feels that this place should be SHUTDOWN for many health code violations. When I called to file a formal complaint the city turned me over the the county and the county asked for my information and told me they will be getting a hold of me soon after the investigation. Well over a year has gone by and no investigation which only shows how ass backwards this town is and how corrupt the city and county governments are. I am glad to be moving out of here or else something bigger would be happening not only to this place but ALOT more with devastating consequences!

People were smoking and there is no air filter. Good would have been better had I smelled cigarette smoke.

Post-float trip, we usually hit Shoney’s on the way out of Lebanon. Alas, the Shoney’s was closed, so we tried this spot just up the street. The décor is IHOP goes country, and you’re immediately greeted with a sign stating that there’s no smoking 6AM-3PM on Sundays. Classy. It smells stale, and you’re likely to get looks from locals dressed in their Sunday Church clothes if you go around that time looking scrubby, but whatever. I ordered the Western skillet with hashbrowns and scrambled eggs. It was delicious. Everyone in my group seemed to enjoy their food, and that’s the most important thing. Our waitress was courteous and didn’t seem bothered by us sending her back and forth as we filed in and out of the tables to wash up in an even staler smelling restroom. If this were at home, I doubt I’d return, but a good breakfast stop after a weekend of camping and floating, I’m sure we’ll consider returning next summer.

This is definitely a hidden gem(although not really, because Lebanon is such a small town). I stopped here for dinner on my road trip back home to California, and I’m glad I did. What Elm Street does is serve classic American comfort food, and they’re good at it. The portions are huge, which is exactly what I was expecting from a roadside eatery in small town America. I’m a little confused as to why there are negative reviews about the smoke smell when there is a smoking section of the restaurant. I didn’t notice the smell at all, so maybe I went on a good night. It’s not the best comfort food I’ve had, but it’s close. If you’re looking for a good, wholesome, home-cooked meal, then this is the place to go.

Cigarette smoke with your food??? On the down side the whole restaurant smells like cigarette smoke as one side of the restaurant is for smokers. Nothing to keep the smoke on that side. Disgusting smell to have to inhale while you’re trying to eat. This is like going back in time 30 yrs minimum. Stinks BAD! Food was good with nice size portions.

Only place in town(besides Burger King) that I could find that has veggie burgers. Being a vegan is difficult when you want to eat out in a small town like Lebanon, but thanks to Elm Street Eatery, we finally have a place to go! They tasted amazing, and the service was excellent!
