This salon is exceptional and worth the trip. Paula Ivins is hands down the best stylist in Ohio. Her extensive experience cutting/styling hair in NYC and running the education program for Aveda shows. She makes everyone look beautiful — no small feat. A perfect eye and an even better personality. What a winner! P. S. They sell Davines hair products here and if you’ve never tried them you should. It’s an organic line out of Italy and like Aveda — only significantly better.

I had been a long time client at Lucid and had enjoyed good service over the years. That ended this morning. I arrived for brow and lip services to be told I didn’t have an appointment. The receptionist asked a couple of stylists if they could take me. They could not. She then asked if I knew who booked the appointment. No… not something I track… assumed appointment making was a basic competency and process in a salon. No other attempts to make this right were made. Receptionist was rather blasé about the whole thing. Disgusted! Called another salon here in town and they graciously made an appointment for me in an hour.

Not bad; but not great either. I would just warn you to be careful who styles your hair cause you may get it all chopped off.

My daughter was new to the district and we wanted to have her hair done to make her feel beautiful and confident on her first day. I was referred to this salon by a friend who used to work at Lucid and currently works with me. Anyway, my daughter had THEWORST hair cut ever. The stylist cut her cowlick so short that it stuck straight out off her forehead. The image she showed(that she wanted her hair to be similar to) had LONG bangs. My beautiful daughter with such a sweet kind heart just powered though it pulling her bangs from the back of her head to hide the mess. Glad she has healthy hair that grows quickly. On the upside the owner is amazing, she agreed the cut was horrific and did her best to help. I didn’t ask for my money back nor was it offered… And that’s ok. The owner had me bring her back and showed her ways to try to hide the mess. The owner(Paula I believe) was so sweet and apologetic and I thank her for her attempt to hide the mess, but the damage was done and we won’t be back…

I will never get haircuts anywhere else! Brooke Bowman is an amazing stylist! You bring her some ideas and she creates a cut above and beyond your expectations! Lucid has such a refreshing atmosphere and staff! Not to mention the free refreshments and snacks! For someone with curly hair, it is so nice to always feel that I am in good hands! I 100% recommend this salon!

Three worst haircuts of my life! I really wanted to love Lucid. I have had great cuts and color at other Aveda salons, so I was really excited to find Lucid 5 minutes from my house. The first stylist I saw did a great job on my color and she was very nice so I went back to see her 3 more times and I recommended her to 2 friends. I kept my hair long and simple so my haircuts were easy. The 4th time I went to see her I wanted my hair a little shorter and was very unhappy with the cut. I looked like The Dutchboy! She was super nice about it and tried to fix it. I will say it looked a little better but still it was just ok. Next time I tried to get an appointment with the same stylist but she was booked up so I saw a different stylist. I asked for an angled bob and I brought a photo to show her. Again the color was great, but my cut was crooked! Also she got hair color all over my shirt. For over $ 100.00 a crooked haircut is unacceptable. This time I spoke with the manager about my complaints, she offered to fix my hair and give me money for my shirt. I let her try to fix my hair and declined any compensation for my shirt. My cut seemed ok at the salon, but after shampooing it and drying it myself It was clear that it was even more crooked than before. Also it is not angled. The back is an ugly blunt bob and the front is only slightly longer, but it just jumps in length. There is no gradual angle. It actually looked so bad that I almost felt like she did it on purpose to get back at me for complaining. I am posting a picture because words can not describe how bad my hair looks. I actually cried because it is so ugly. Now tomorrow I have to spend more time and more money trying to get it fixed elsewhere. One more thing, I have really nice healthy, thick hair. If they can not make my hair look good I do not know how they can make anybody’s hair look decent.

Ohio, you don’t know how LUCKY you are! I have been a client of Paula Ivins since walking into the Aveda Soho NYC salon 18 years ago. I was blown away by her talent! Not only is she a stylist and colorist extraordinaire, but an amazing person as well! She used to come to NYC every 6 weeks to see her clients at Serge Normant and is now devoting herself full time to Lucid, so I know that I will be traveling to Lebanon to have her continue to work her magic. In fact I know that I am not the only one, many of her clients are planning to rent a van-bus so that we can continue to see her. SHE“S THATGOOD!!! Paula was a director of training for Aveda and for Oscar Bond so you know that her staff is getting incredible training on the latest techniques as well. And her friends at Marie Robinson salon have also been out to Ohio to offer education to her staff, so you can be quite confident that her entire staff rocks as well!

LOVE this salon! It is a hidden gem in Lebanon! The salon feels very urban and hip and the stylists are just as great! I see Lauren and she is a rock star! I give her lots of freedom to do «whatever she thinks will look good» and I always walk away loving my look and I always get lots of compliments on my hair. The rates are very reasonable and you get a free hand massage while your hair gets a hot-condition-towel-thing(technical name for it :)) who doesn’t love that?

Lucid Salon knows hair. After I had been coloring my own hair for far too long I went to Lucid for help and serious repair on my ginger hair. The ladies there helped me decide what to do with my hair and when the result didn’t turn out quite like I wanted, they redid it until it was right. As a grad student my money is limited but spending it at Lucid is something I don’t sweat. They do a fabulous job and are well worth it!

You’d think that when you live in Chicago, you’d find a decent hair dresser. Unfortunately for me, I have had no luck in the Windy City. So instead, I travel back home whenever I need a cut for an appointment at Lucid Salon because I’ve fallen so hard for this place. I always see Di, who is the sweetest and can fortunately read my mind since I cannot describe what kind of cuts I would like. Di brought me into the world of bangs and has cleaned up butchered cuts that I got back in Chicago. Owner Paula still travels out to New York one week out of the month to serve her clientele in the city, where she once served as Creative Director for Aveda’s flagship New York salon. Pretty awesome. Lucid feels just like their tag line – a sense of Soho on Mulberry Street. The salon itself is chic – open and airy with the huge windows in front and high, lofted ceilings above. They also offer manicures and pedicures and while I’ve never done those here, it looks like everyone having them done is in heaven. Lucid didn’t even open until after I left town, but I still come back here regularly. They should seriously consider opening a Chicago location…
