I rarely review chain restaurants, especially fast food chains. I even less frequently eat at McDonald’s. Right now I’m breaking all the norms. My dad and I had to take a road trip from an Air Force base in Northern California back to my family’s house in Southern California. Left San Jose around 4 a.m. this morning, and arrived here around 8 a.m. to eat and to take a bathroom break. Let me preface with the bathrooms. Holy cow, were they unnaturally clean. Every stall was clean, which is absolutely bonkers, even for the morning at a stop like this. Fully restocked on everything… honestly it sounds unbelievable but I saw it with my own eyes. The décor in this particular McDonald’s seemed to have been recently updated. Everything was very new and clean, bright and colorful. It looked like a brand new café. McDonald’s must be trying to rebrand themselves, and it’s working at this location. We also noticed new menu options and screens where customers can self-order their food, and pay. We didn’t get involved with either, however. The customer service was at par with the customer service at Chick-fil-a at this location, at least for breakfast today. The manager brought our meal over and asked if he could bring us anything else, bringing back straws, jellies, cream and sugar, etc. CRAAAAAZY. The best part of this visit? The food was actually edible. Better than edible – the food was actually good! The hash browns weren’t over-fried or too greasy. They were literally the best I’ve had at any location, in my entire life. Same with the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. The bacon wasn’t slimy or too hard, it was just right. The cheese is always kinda gross… what can I say? But the eggs and the biscuit were also made properly, and the sandwich as a whole also exceeding all expectations.

The new Turkey Sausage Breakfast Bowl was pretty good for a Mc Donalds meal. The Turkey was cut not crumbled like the pictures. Everything was going well until the lady covering the floor started getting upset at people. By the way. Can you wear jeans at Mc Danolds as part of your uniform?

Avoid if you’re in a rush! This is the first McDonald’s off the Grapevine getting out of LA and the place is teeming with large, hungry families. Although they have kiosks for quick but anti-social ordering, the kiosks are woefully buggy and sometimes require an employee to help you press buttons. They only serve hot drip coffee(no crack-in-a-cup iced coffee, sadface) because apparently they have a contract with Starbucks. What.

Iced coffee is on the menu but they claim they don’t serve it at this location. Why is it on your menu if you don’t serve it?! I understand it’s a franchise so the menus are the same but how is it that you can not edit your menu to take out things you do not serve. Especially at one of the busiest fuel stops in California?!

Went to drive through and waited over two minutes for someone to even take our order. Proceeded to order a McFlurry and iced coffee and was quickly cut off by the man over the intercom letting us know they did not serve iced coffee. Changed our order and began to wait to give them our money. Another couple of minutes passed by. Ended up driving off, there’s no way I’m giving my money to a business that seemed to care less about customer satisfaction.

Came in for a buttermilk chicken sandwich before closing. And tried to use the restroom before my meal and was prevented from using the facilities, saying the restroom was closed for the day… right after I ordered. Good sandwich, how rude not to let a paying customer use the restroom.

It was an absolute waste of time to get off the freeway for this location. Website said to be a 24hr drive-thru, it was CLOSED when we arrived. Yet, all the Drive-Thru OPEN24hr signs were ON. Don’t make people believe it’s open 24hrs if it’s not. Website needs to be updated if they want to keep customers.

Wow I was really impressed by this McDonald’s. It looks newly remodeled and they have these great self ordering systems that let you customize your burger. The manager was very attentive and helpful.

The McDonald’s was closed and being renovated at the time. It said nothing about this on the signs on the freeway or even in the restaurant itself. The lights were all on. I’d at least of put one sign saying«closed for renovations» somewhere there. It seems inconsiderate not doing so.

I saw the commercials for the Premium Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich, so when I was passing through the area on I-5, I stopped by here to take a break and give this sandwich a try. I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a good sandwich that was filling and presented very well. It’s not as a good as the Jack in the Box Spicy Crispy Chicken sandwich, but it’s satisfying all the same. The fries are excellent, as McDonald’s fries always are. Good job!

Slowest drive-thru ever! Took nearly 30 minutes from time we ordered(20 pc nuggets, large coke, chicken sandwich) till we got to the front of the line to pickup our order. But, these may be the best McDonald’s nuggest!

Horrible service. Latina cashier at drive-thru was very rude. We waited 10 minutes for her for us to even order because she was busy doing something, and *then* they went ahead and took another car’s order first so they cut us in line. I’m literally still here in line, waiting in the drive-thru sitting in my car wondering HOWONEARTH it could POSSIBLY take this long for everyone’s orders to come out at this standard McDonald’s. This location is a joke, please avoid.

Zero stars if I could! Wow That was gross. Floors were littered with discarded food. Not a clean table in the entire restaurant. The fries were undercooked, limped, and soggy. They made me a fresh batch — tasted freezer burned and stale. I think they just threw my returned order back into the fryer. Bit into a nugget and hit something grizzly and gross. And the condiments are behind the counter — what… Afraid people will steal the packages of ketchup? What the hell. I actually never minded McDonald — decent fries and I liked the nuggets. Is it just this one that’s abysmal or are they all like that now? Can I give this puppy zero stars?

1 star!!! Well the food is good but someone stole my moms glasses. And they were very expensive about $ 300!!! I was very unhappy and I hope that person gets caught and goes back to their parents house because they need to learn manners.

They had a makeover at this Mikadees. Yes Yes, I know I know. I shouldn’t be reviewing a McDonalds. I just wanted to make my two cents here. I only stop by McDonalds because of those damn happy meal toys for my kids. Such a gimmick. However, I buy them to keep them happy. What didn’t make me happy here was the fact that they didn’t have milk. According to the person over the counter, all the milk were expired. The only option was to get a juice or to get a soda cup. Well, we don’t feed our kids soda so juice it was. To add insult to injury, we were charged the upside fee of an additional $ 0.10 Really? You don’t have product and you charge me extra for something I didn’t want in the first place? Anyways, besides that the food was hot except for the fries. They also forgot my juice which I got right away when I asked. The décor is modern and had 1 family like table by the soda machine. The rest were color scheme coordinated art deco like chairs and semi comfy bench seating. There are only 2 cashiers here and the menu board is all digital and bright that you might need your glasses when ordering.

The restaurant is new/renovated, and looks lovely inside. Large and clean. We ordered and ate inside. The food was OK — I got a happy meal. The fries were cold, which was a bummer because let’s be honest — hot McD fries are da bomb.

Right inside one of the largest rest stops along the way to SoCal on Route 5. This location is a franchised McDonald’s restaurant. It is pretty nicely remodeled and being that it is in a prime location right before the highway goes through the national forest park, lots of travelers stop here. Each time I stopped here, it has been super busy. The bathrooms are constantly used and because of that reason, the bathrooms need cleaning more often. They only offer 3 sauces with their 20pc McNuggets. It is supposed to be 4 sauces. They tried to say 3 but I explained it to them by saying if you give 2 sauces with 10pc McNuggets, doesn’t it equate to 4 sauces with an order of 20pc McNuggets?! Ah. They said. They see my logic. They gave me 4 sauces with my 20pc McNuggets. Easy peasy. And I’m pretty bad with numbers. Either way; nothing like grabbing a quick bite to eat at a place we’re all familiar with. Plus, you get free WiFi here so you can catch up on Unilocal! Padaa Paa Paa Paa… I’m. LOVIN’ It!

***This McDonald’s is right off the 5 freeway on the way from Los Angeles to San Francisco; it is currently undergoing a renovation and it may have a very interesting look once they finish construction; their breakfast was fine though it did feel like a few options(such as their gourmet coffee drinks) were missing from the menu; the biggest problem though was the speed of service; it was not that busy and it took quite a long time for food to come out; this area can get very busy so I would be worried about how this McDonald’s operates when it gets an onslaught of customers*** This McDonald’s, like almost all McDonald’s properties, has its own free parking lot.
