Small, quiet little place with great costumer service and prices. The lunch specials are pretty big and the place is very clean. The salsa in my opinion was tasty. Only the first set of chips and salsa are included in your meal. Food came out fast and hot. We will definitely be returning here.

I’ve been holding off as long as I could on downgrading but just don’t have a choice. The last three times I’ve been here the food has been overly salty. The reason restaurants use too much salt is to cover for a less than great taste in their food, or to give their food some taste. Salt is also a preservative. But, ask yourself this… if the food is of a high quality with well blended flavors, wouldn’t you want your patrons to experience and enjoy the expertise of those cooking for you? Hmmmm… Owners are very nice & friendly. I hope they get the salt issue under control.

Where to start with how bad this was. We waited 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. The host pointed to a table and asked if that was ok. we sat down. No menu, no tableware, nothing. Finally got a basket of chips and salsa. After 10 minutes we got up and got our own menu(the host was nowhere in sight and 8 people were waiting in line to pay). The waiter finally came and we ordered. Food arrived 20 minutes later and it was cold(and we still had no tableware). Food was ok, not great. There are several good Mexican restaurants in Lee’s Summit, so won’t be going back to this one.

Delicious Mexican food! Service was great, and you can’t beat the Margarita specials! I ordered fish tacos and shrimp tacos, and both were equally as good. Portion size was also very generous. I couldn’t have been more satisfied.

Not very good on my visit there. No cheese or other topping on the burrito, The waiter screwed up my request for a chicken enchilada and gave me beef. It tasted exactly like the burrito and the beef taco. I have had much better Mexican food at other places. The ground beef has 30% water in it, it is grossly mushy. As I said before, all 3 of my items tasted the same, although they should not as a taco, burrito and enchilada should taste totally different from each other.

Horrible. My boyfriend loves tacos. Loves them. I ordered 8 for him because it was taco tuesday and they were on special. I ordered 2 fish tacos for myself. I got through one taco and couldn’t finish it. He ate 4 of his because he doesn’t let food go to waste, but then he couldn’t stomach it and ran to the bathroom. I looked at his tacos and the«ground beef» resembled mush. I actually thought there were refried beans on the tacos… but it was just the meat. I was really bummed this happened. I thought maybe Lee’s Summit might have had a cool little Mexican spot… but I should have gone to Taco Bell. It is also a bummer that we do not eat out often because we are saving money and when we did we spent it on food that we couldn’t eat.

I would rate it «so-so», appetizer came out the same time as the meal. They set us back in the bar section which was pretty chilly(had to wear my coat while eating) not sure why they did that since were plenty of tables out front. Ordered nachos with the tomatoes on the side, all that was was a small slice of tomato. Chips were good and warm but the salsa was a little runny. Probably would not go back.

We ate here tonight and didn’t have a great experience. The chips were average at best and the salsa was pretty much the same. We ordered margaritas and they tasted like straight sweet and sour mix. Our waitress was nice enough to bring a little tequila to add. I ordered enchiladas(based on our server’s recommendation) and they were the best thing we ate. They had grilled chicken in them and were covered with cheese dip and topped with fresh avocado. The chicken was pretty dry but the flavor was good. My husband had a combo that included a beef taco, beef burrito and beef enchilada. The enchilada sauce was tasty, but that’s about it. The taco shell wasn’t even one I would consider buying in a store. The ground beef was dreadful and definitely low quality. The service was friendly but extremely slow. I’m not sure how this place has 5 star reviews. If we want to eat Mexican food in LS, La Fuente is a better choice. Well, really any of the others.

I redeemed a gift certificate for here and headed there at 9pm on a Saturday. The place was empty. I told the man who seated us that I had a certificate and mentioned that it was on my phone and he said I just show the server after the bill. After ordering the server asked for my paper copy of the certificate. This isn’t my first time using certificates, but it was the first time I’ve been asked for a hard copy. I use an app for the service. Do most people print from apps? I was shocked. I offered my log in info if they could print it for me. No. I could make the 20 mile round trip home or leave. So I left my margarita, our half eaten chips and went elsewhere. I would think a restaurant open for almost 2 more hours with no business would have appreciated mine more.

The food is fantastic. The service was friendly and attentive. The location is very clean and neat. My wife and I had a fantastic time. Not to mention, you can actually taste the tequila in their margaritas. Do yourself a favor and try the burrito jalisco!

El Ranchero opened at the site of the old El Maguey. My wife and I tried it on the day after they opened and were very pleased. The staff was very friendly and the food was good and reasonably priced. We sat in the bar which was a comfortable place to watch a ball game. Loved the chorizo appetizer and the chips. They have a selection of domestic and Mexican brews. We’ll be back often.
