It’s really more te — mex than authentic Mexican food. That said, the refried beans and carne asada tacos are the best around. Definitely a 4 out of 5 for food and service.

Have eaten here many times and it is just OK and not real good. Today had Taco Salad with chicken. I guess that was what is was, tasteless chicken with lettuce from a bag with sour cream. Quite tasteless. Do no buy this dish. Lunch specials are ok and a fair value.

My finacee had a craving for Mexican and we were in the area, so we dropped in. Glad we did! Got our usual cheese sauce with the chips. Quite good. Fiancée said she had eaten better salsa, but it was not terrible. I ordered a combo on the vegetarian menu, 1 bean burrito, 1 cheese enchilada, and 1 cheese quesadilla. Quesadilla was awesome, burrito and enchilada was covered in their mole sauce, which wasn’t bad. They had an option to cover with cheese sauce instead for extra. Might do that next time. Fiancée got chicken enchiladas, which she enjoyed. The rice was solid too. Overall, a solid visit. Not our top choice for Mexican, but still quite good. We will come back.

I give this place a solid 4⁄5. On the plus side, your food is out practically before you order it. The speed of service is outstanding. Prices are very reasonable. The food is tasty… probably not super authentic Mexican as if you were way down south, but tasty, hot, fresh. My wife and I both like to go here because it’s consistent… you get a good portion, the price is cheap, it’s tasty, and you get served quickly. Not much to gripe about. Oh, yeah, and a big bonus for me is that when you order an iced tea, you get a BIG olé glass of tea. Not some tiny thing you have to hope they come refill. Nice. If you have kids, it can get tedious if you go somewhere with a long wait time. That’s a bonus here, as you get your food promptly, so less sitting around with nothing to entertain them.

Great, attentive service and consistory good food. They are weird about taking coupons though and it drives me nuts. There isn’t much more than can be written without making up stuff it’s a boring place.

Snagged dinner here at my Mom’s recommendation tonight. I can say that I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve found a lack of homestyle Mexican restaurants around Lee’s Summit. Very unassuming exterior, set off the road in a quiet shopping plaza. The inside is done up as what I can only call a Mexican themed restaurant. Mariachi music, cool carved benches, and a faux patio type area. Food: Delicious. Prices are VERY reasonable for a generous portion. I’m a big eater, and I had to bring some of mine home. Got a combo plate with a burrito, enchilada, and tamale. The tamale was moist and had good flavor, and the enchilada and burrito were STUFFED with meat. There was zero filler(rice/veggies). Oh, and bottomless warm delicious chips and fresh salsa. Can’t forget that. Service in general was ok, though a little absent towards the start and finish of the meal. My drink was refilled in a timely manner, and my server was polite and friendly, he just disappeared for a little bit here and there, haha. Overall, great experience, filling tasty food, will be back again!

All I can rate this is «not totally disappointing.» I’ve been learning not to order chile rellenos in KC for the fact that everyone I’ve eaten(except recently at Maggie’s) has been stuffed with provel. So I played it safe and split fajitas with my husband. Of course, I asked the mesero what’s in the chiles and after asking the kitchen he says chihuahua cheese. I’m seriously debating going back to try them. As for the fajitas… They are fajitas. They’re hard to get wrong except it was a little greasy. So overall, I would consider coming back here and giving it another shot.

Pretty awesome Lunch specials. We usually get the lunch fajitas which at their price can’t be beat. It is a little dimly lit, but its the middle of the day so its fine. Can kind of be compared to La Fuentes, but I like El Maguey better. Service is usually great though had one time where the waiter should have come by a few minutes after the delivery of the food to make sure we had everything we needed(well into our meal before we could flag him down) That was just once though and we’ve been several times. Will be going back again. Trying the rest of the places in Lees Summit, but so far this is now my go to place for Mexican.
