There are no words to express the exceptionality of Chez Nous. In full disclosure, I’ve been here before and had an equally stellar review. But the fact that they continue to pass that bar every time is amazing. The crispy perfection of the trout skin, the depth of umami in the escargot, the consistent deliciousness of the pâté, topped by a crescendo of sticky toffee — all so amazing! I can’t express enough how this truly is THE spot in the Berkshires.

First time eating at Chez Nous. My wife and I totally enjoyed dinner and appreciated that they have a small plate option. The food and wine were superb and we are definitely coming back the next time we are in the area.

Lovely bistro style restaurant with great ambience and generally inventive and terrific food. The plates are old fashion and have the name of the restaurant on them. Friendly proprietor who takes a personal interest in the diners.

We had such a great time at Chez Nous last night! And we were not the only ones. The house was full from 6pm, when we checked in to see if we could bump our 7 o’clock reservation to 6(no, they were fully booked) until we left some time after 9. If that doesn’t say it all, I don’t know what does. Between the four of us we tried the foie gras app, the house patè app, the warm calamari salad and the cauliflower and leek soup. I was not crazy about the soup but if truffle oil is not your thing, you might be. The calamari was incredibly tender and my friend thought the vinaigrette was the best she had ever had. I don’t think I tried the foie gras but the other patè was delicious. For dinner, three of us had the baby lamb chops with goat cheese polenta. The lamb was so good, I did my best to discreetly get every bit of flavor off those little bones. And the polenta, oh my goodness, the polenta! So creamy, so rich, so amazing! Sigh. The fourth in our party had the filet mignon, which was also very good. For dessert, we sampled espresso chocolate mousse, a macaron and banana cake. The mousse was mine and very good, but so rich that I don’t think I ate even half; the other two were good but just not my thing. Our waitress was wonderful, chatting with us a little and getting some information from the chef about a mushroom in one if the dishes that intrigued us. Overall an excellent experience and next time we meet in Lee, I think this will be tops on our list for dinner.

Oui, this restaurant is the best in Lee and among the few excellent restaurants in the Lee/Lenox/Great Barrington area. The co-owner, Rachel, is around to greet and ensure that all is well for her customers; her husband is the head chef. The food is innovative, healthy, and the half-portions are really perfect for most diners. the wait staff is among the more professional in Berkshire County. Considering all the foregoing, the prices are quite reasonable! Go an enjoy… book early !!!

We had a wonderful dining experience at Chez Nous. They get all the details right, great ambiance, impeccable service, wonderful food. I had a salad and the lamb and my husband had pâté appetizer and the steak. Desserts were decadent. I was really wowed by the fruit tisane after my meal. I never knew tea could be so good!

Definitely the best dinner we’ve had in the Berkshires. The rack of lamb is delicious and perfectly cooked. The Charcuterie plate was a perfect bite for an appetizer. The Key Lime trifle and Raspberry Chocolate Mousses were an excellent desert. Service was at the bar since the restaurant was packed on a Sunday night. They were pleasant and exceedingly good at what they do.

BEST restaurant in Lee! This place is family-owned and you can tell they pour there heart into the restaurant. The interior is super cozy and cute. The food is innovative and wholesome. I absolutely love the option to do half portions instead of whole portions– you get to try more food that way! I had a half portion of goat cheese tortellini which were giant and homemade and so yummy. I also had a half portion of the lamb ribs which were cooked rare as I asked them to be. They too were perfectly delicious and juicy. Also the bread they serve is unbelievably good. I couldn’t stop eating it! Lastly, I had a hazelnut chocolate tart cake for dessert and it was easily one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. All desserts are made on premises by the chefs wife. They use really high quality ingredients– well worth the calories! The service is spot on. The waitress was so sweet and accommodating. A great experience all around!

Chez Nous offers French bistro food in a casual, but elegant, setting. We’ve eaten in Parisian bistros; Chez Nous has a finer menu with greater variety. Especially nice is the half plate/full plate menu. My wife and I ordered the half plates(with proportionally lower prices) and had room for their luscious desserts. Menus change daily based on available produce. That’s a nice surprise. What isn’t surprising is the high quality of what’s on the plates from appetizers to desserts. Food, wine, and service – all outstanding. When we’re in the Berkshires again, we will re-visit Chez Nous, a culinary gem.

Superlative dining establishment– well run, even on a very busy Friday night. The food itself was divine(hangar steak and desserts.) The seating was a bit cramped but the overall experience was otherwise wonderful.

What a great dinner we had while visiting Lee. I would highly recommend it. A few of the people in our group were vegetarian and the had a great selection for them as well. Try the pâté’ appetizer and the lamb chops and leave room for the peanut butter pie dessert.

I am afraid to recommend Chez Nous. Right now, it is one of those few really good mid-county places that the tourists seem to miss. They get off the Pike and head straight for Lenox. If everyone stopped here — as they should — I would never get in. And, I really like Chez Nous. The owners of this restaurant are clearly passionate about their cooking and service. A high level of detail is applied to everything. The ingredients are fresh and delicately prepared. Plates are beautifully laid out. I would talk about the dishes, but, they seem to change from week to week. I think it has to do with what is at the market at the time. Special for me is the attention to my gluten-free needs. If you are really gluten-free, you can even ask for gluten-free rolls when the others at the table get their rolls. Nice touch.

An incredible attention to detail and very friendly staff and hosts! I was a bit leery of walking into a French Restaurant without knowing a bit of the menu(being a vegetarian, it gets tough finding GOOD places with selections) So I messaged them on facebook, and guess what, I got a private message telling me the specials that were vegetarian! That’s pretty cool IMHO. So I got there, had my choice of the bar or small table and I loved every bit of my meal, from the fresh soup to the risotto style main dish with delicious bits of butternut and sundried tomatoes, and topped off with fresh chamomile tea and a pumpkin cake. Wonderful, friendly and just the right amount of food ***** Jim

The food is excellent and the hospitality is even better. I went for dinner with a bachelorette party of 7 and we were treated wonderfully by our upbeat waitress who made excellent recommendations and clearly knew the seasonal menu very well. When it came time to leave, the restaurant called taxis for us and upon being notified that there was a two hour wait for any taxi, a server and the chef very kindly drove us back to our bed & breakfast. Very much above & beyond.

Chez Nous is a very casual French dining establishment in the heart of Lee. It came highly recommended from the locals, and I could see why. As I said, nothing fancy, no crystal or table cloth, just a simply laid out table. I couldn’t get in until 8:30 on a Saturday night, so it is popular. Hot crispy white and wheat fresh rolls and olives were on the table to start. The waitress, Shaina, was only there 6 weeks and was funny while trying to answer all my questions regarding the menu. Eventually the co-owner, Rachel, also the dessert chef, came over and walked me thru the menu. She was so lovely. I started with the pâté platter with toast points. It was deelish! I was disappointed that my favorite French cuisine dish wasn’t available, escargots. I could have a dozen of those for dinner alone. But the pâté did the trick. I complimented it with a cheese platter that had Blue, Goat and White Vermont Cheddar. All good. One of the unique features of Chez Nous are the half plates for every entrée. It was a great idea especially to try multiple dishes or having a late night meal. I went with the ½ plate lamb chops with cous cous and mixed veggies. The ½ plate had 4 lamb chops which was perfect for my late entrée. I complimented it all with a lite French red wine. A type of French version Pinot Noir. Just perfect for my taste. For dessert I had the Blueberry and Nectarine tart with ice cream. It was luscious! I have to admit I was expecting the typical saucy garlicky heavy French meal, but I was happy that they have light summer menu choices appropriate for the season. Come and enjoy Chez Nous, but be prepared for the unexpected menus that change regularly.

It’s so difficult for me to judge any French restaurant after dining at No. 9 Park in Boston, but this place was really great. The atmosphere inside is warm and inviting and also very casual for elegant food. My party of 4 sat at the corner of the bar and service was on point. The people behind the bar were quick to refill our water or to ask if we needed another beverage. I ordered the salmon(half portion, which was plenty!) and it came with risotto. The salmon was perfectly cooked but could have used a little more salt or something to bring out the flavor. The risotto was AWESOME. I could eat it every day. It was hearty, flavorful and filled with deliciousness. For dessert we ordered berries with a shortcake of sorts, the pot de crème, and the Blondie Sundae with Sea Salted Caramel. All desserts were good but I cannot get over how amazing the Blondie Sundae was! The melted ice cream over the blondies was a sheer bite of heaven and the caramel added the most amazing touch of sweetness with a hint of salt. I’d lay down on train tracks for this again. Seriously. My only issue with this place was all of the fruit flies flying around the bar, otherwise this cozy place was great and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting western MA.

Enjoyed perfectly prepared Sea Bream, well flavoured, with summer veggies and good tapenade. Of our two appetisers the pâté selection was the more appealing-rillettes, pâté de Campagne, smooth chicken liver mousse, presented with cornichon, toast and fruity conserve. Delicious Lemon Posset pot for dessert. Buttermilk cake, filled with peaches, and blueberry sauce less satisfying– peaches were lacking«peachiness» though the blueberries were tiny wild variety with intense flavor of those magical tiny berries. Attentive service. Good fare. Good butter and petit delicious rolls. Happily a Thursday night without the overwhelming summer weekend crowds of the Berkshires. Most pleasant.
