This is one of my favorite restaurants! I live 2 hours away and my wife and I make it out there twice a year. The setting is intimate, relaxing, and cozy and the food is regularly delicious! The only reason it is receiving 4 stars in stead of 5 is because my last visit was not the best experience. The server, while nice, forgot several items my wife and I had ordered, including a take out order. The roast beef sandwich was also disappointing. In previous visits, they served easily the best roast beef sandwich I have ever eaten! However, this time, the onions were not cooked(they always have been) or mixed in with the roast beef, which really took away from the sandwich. I’m hoping it was just an off night because I truly love this place!

My Linguine and Clams was average at best, with a small portion and average quality food. My wife had a homemade sausage and broccoli dish that was served with carrots as a substitute(no broccoli available) that was terrible and also over priced. The food service was slow despite only four couples being seated. The open Mic equipment was too close to paying customers.

We have eaten here before with satisfactory results. Our last visit in late August was just OK. Steak was tough, one meal had cooled down and it just didn’t meet the standards they have had in the past.

We went there on Saturday. Our grandson I think had a little of everything and all. He had the Duck dinner, french onion soip, little neck clams, bread and a tossed salad. He loved all of it. My husband had the clams, salad, bread, steak and rice. He loved it all too. Mine was just ok. We went there before and I had a turkey club with cranberry mayo. I ordered the same thing but because we were a little past 5 pm, they refused to give me the cranberry nayo. I mean seriously how hard would it have been to use something they have for lunch. So a turkey club on white bread is what I got. Normally, it should come on toast. But seriously for a dab of cranberry sauce they lost us as custoners. They. have it because they serve it with their dinner. It is their loss. We spent well over 100.00. Not any more. So ask first before u r seated.

I ate here with my family in early July, on a Thursday night. We should have known that there would be issues when it took our waiter(a tremendously friendly guy — the two star review doesn’t reflect his attentiveness) an incredibly long time to fetch our water glasses at the start of the meal. Here were the numerous issues which came up as we dined at Sullivan Station: 1. We finished our basket of bread and no additional bread was offered. 2. My salad had a piece of paper, possibly plastic, which seemed to come from the kitchen, nestled among the lettuce leaves. When I pointed it out to our waiter, he brought me a new salad, an apology, and that was it. 3. My partner ordered his steak(a special for the evening with gorgonzola) medium rare, and I ordered mine medium. Mine came out red and juicy on the inside, while his was grey. Granted, my steak was a larger cut of meat — but please, get the customers’ requests for doneness correct! 4. My mother ordered chicken almandine with lobster and they forgot the lobster. She asked the waiter if a larger portion than usual could be given to her to «make up» for the error. He arrived with a «typical» amount of lobster(she has ordered this before and knows what to expect). After all of this — the long waits for drinks, the lack of bread, the screw-ups with nearly everyone’s meal, we hoped for a discount or possibly at least one dessert on the house. There was nothing. I’m not sure if our waiter was too timid to ask management to somehow make our meal right, or if it’s company policy to just be complacent about mistakes with orders, but we were shocked. I doubt I’ll return there, and my parents(permanent Berkshires residents) probably won’t go back, either.

Sadly, I have to agree with the many other reviewers who commented on the very mediocre food and slow service. As a local resident, you always want to see family restaurants thrive. We hadn’t been to Sullivan Station in some time and so on our way back to Pittsfield from the Outlets we stopped in for a late lunch. With only a couple of tables occupied, it was hard to understand why we had to wait so long for service. Once our waitress arrived it was yet another long wait for our sodas. I was worried that this was a sign that things were only going to get worse. While waiting we saw indications that we shouldn’t get our hopes up that the wait might be worth it. And yes, it got worse. We waited far too long for our simple lunch order. I could tell our waitress also felt it was taking too long. I wish I could say it was worth the wait. NOT! My baked cod, which should have been flaky and light, looked like a white, frozen, oddly shaped log of unidentifiable fish. It was anything but light and flaky. Clearly it was previously frozen, for what may have been years. Inedible doesn’t begin to describe it. When I told waitress I couldn’t eat it, without hesitation she immediately knew why, as if she’d heard the complaint before. Thankfully she was very accommodating and brought me something in its place. Our friend’s onion soup had a glob of thick cheese that would have choked an elephant. My son’s tuna melt was thinner than his napkin and the melted cheese on it had a heavy sheen of oil on it. Refills for the soda we needed to wash down the food took even longer than the first order because of an issue at the bar with the tanks. We just couldn’t catch a break. I will give credit however to our waitress Becky who insisted that my meal be comped despite my willingness to pay for it. Thus the reason for 2 stars versus one. Sadly, we will not return to Sullivan Station. The owners really need to consider the many recommendations reviewers offered that they get themselves a real chef and kitchen team and get serious about their attempts to offer good food.

Decided that we would try this place for dinner and we were glad we did. We were greeted promptly, seated quickly, and waitress was nice. We had the portobello stackers which were tasty. I ordered the grilled salmon with the dill sauce on the side. It was really good. My husband had the surf and turf which was done as ordered. They had dinner music playing then live music when we were eating. The ambiance was comfortable and warm. We will be back.

I’m loathe to criticize a friendly local establishment. Life is hard; I want people to do well, especially in a small local economy. But our meal was surprisingly and sadly disappointing. So disappointing that the fun of the rare evening out was spoiled. The staff is very nice, and I can easily overlook the bread that didn’t come for a half hour despite our hunger, or the beer that wasn’t refilled until the waitress finally reappeared and asked, despite our thirst and willingness to spend more on the tab. Then there was the oddly long wait for our food which seemed inexplicable until we noticed just one cook in the kitchen and none of the five servers(for about four tables) helping, if possible. The cavatelli was underdone(not in the al dente sense) and chewy as if it had been left to cook/soak in lukewarm water. The promised sundried tomatoes tasted suspiciously like red peppers, and the rest was forgettable. The most disappointing was the Seafood Fra Diavalo. Honestly the worst I’ve ever had and it’s my favorite dish. Overcooked limp noodles. A thick congealed sauce that felt partially reheated at best. Totally the wrong sauce for such a dish, possibly passable for spaghetti and meatballs. Seafood that tasted as if from frozen cryovak, although that’s not unusual theses days, sadly. And the dish wasn’t hot(warm at best) yet also over-cooked. :( Now that I see a photo here from a year ago with a nice saucy seafood Fra Diavalo, I’m left 1. Knowing I’m more right than ever in my criticism, and 2. Wondering what happened? New cook? Untrained substitute? Fall from overall quality?

Old, tiny, and friendly. This place served diner type food in an old railroad station. I loved the history of the place. The bar was a locals hang out with some funny people. They all LOVED my Yankees hat(haha jk). The extra star goes to the staff. Very friendly.

Very disappointed with my recent visits. The last time in early July was the last time. We called for a reservation, got one and went to the restaurant. I entered the dining area and was ‘accosted’ by a waitress who said they were just too busy and we should wait in the bar. OK I said but I have a reservation. 30 minutes later I asked again, she was just as grumpy and the bar tender seemed clueless as to why or how she might help. The bottom line is there was no sign of any manager or owner on site. It showed. We got up and left, at least 3 other parties had done the same. My previous visits had been hit and miss and some poor service. They do a good job with and other web sites to get discounts but somebody needs to be in house and managing the place.
