A foodies delight. Eclectic menu, carefully prepared dinners well served in a pleasant atmosphere. Good dishes, fresh local ingredients, and smiling staff that makes you feel welcome. A refreshing change from the many touristy, pricey, pseudo-gourmet establishments that fill the Berkshires. On rt. 102 between Lee and Stockbridge in a well designed converted period house. Worth a detour.

Place is closed. Number disconnected. Stole my money. Good luck contacting Unilocal for a refund. Absolutely ridiculous.

First, the good: We loved the warm décor and layout of the first floor. It’s a welcoming environment in a unique location. The beers were cold, and the burgers were cooked masterfully, slightly charred on the outside and so juicy on the inside. The buns were tasty enough, and the toppings were fresh. The burgers are served a la carte, and we didn’t order fries, so I can’t comment on them, although when took a peek at our neighbor’s fish and chips, they looked delicious. I would have easily given the restaurant four stars, except the service is just… well…weird. We were seated right away, and I mentioned that I had a Unilocal coupon to the person seating us and she said okay. My mistake was to not also tell the server, but it wasn’t clear at the time that the person seating us and taking our drink orders wouldn’t be waiting on us. Anyway… We each ordered a beer and they were perfectly served — cold and without delay. We waited for longer than we should have for our server to come and take our order, but we could see she was busy with a couple of other tables, and we weren’t in a hurry. And that’s when things got weird. We had looked over the menu and had each chosen the«burger and beer» option for $ 15. When we placed our order, our server asked us what kind of beer we would like. We pointed at the full beers that had been delivered a few minutes before and said that we were driving to Albany, and that one beer each would be enough. She explained that the special came with beers, and we asked if we could just count the beers we had just started drinking toward the special. She clearly wasn’t happy about it but said fine and walked back to the kitchen. Two minutes later the original person came back with two identical beers to the first ones we ordered, and sat them down next to our original beers(which were still mostly full). We looked at each other with raised eyebrows. When the server came back(to tell us that fries were $ 3 extra and ask if we wanted any), we reminded her that we really only wanted ONEBEEREACH and she shrugged and said they came with the special, so… My boyfriend is a nice guy, and didn’t want to press the issue, so we didn’t. But… we really only wanted ONE beer, but if we were going to be forced to buy two more… maybe we wanted to try different ones? Why bring us identical second beers? It felt totally passive aggressive to me. Near the end of the meal, I mentioned the Unilocal coupon and the server, after rudely saying, «WHAT coupon?» said we couldn’t use it on «specials» like the burger and beer meal(which was on the regular menu and not in any way marked«special») or the price fixe menu. When I protested, she went back to the kitchen, and then came back and, again, not very happily, presented us with the receipt showing that the $ 20 had been discounted. She then took our cash, and came back five minutes later, saying that neither the owner nor manager were on duty that night, so they had to open up the safe to get change for the $ 10 bill we were trying to break in order to be able to leave a tip. We left happy with the food we had eaten, but completely confused about why the service experience had gone the way it had. We won’t be back, but hopefully this feedback is helpful for the management — I’m guessing you don’t want your customers feeling like they’re being punished.

It’s been four years since my review of Perigee, and it’s past time for an update. I’m happy to say the news is good. We’ve visited Perigee four time this summer. The menu varies, but the constant is the very freshest ingredients prepared in innovative combinations. Servings are generous. Single glasses of wine, reasonably priced at $ 8-$ 12 are twice the size of what’s sometimes provided. Appetizers are shareable, but so tasty that you won’t want to. Service remains at that lovely nexus of friendly and professional that so few restaurants attain. Neither haughtiness nor excessive informality mar the experience. The sole negative note in my 2010 review was mediocre coffee, and I’m happy to report the coffee is now excellent, and in keeping with the rest of the meal. Perigee is not a vegetarian restaurant; there are lots of meat and fish courses. But vegetarians like me can find a culinary home here, with many imaginative choices.

Funky and unique building with fun décor. The food is very innovative and authentic. Fresh ingredients and careful attention to detail with all dishes. The drinks are refreshing and creative, especially the seasonal options. Food has a nice flair to it, and really makes you feel like the dining experience is exciting. From the exquisite dinner options to the casual yet deliciously tasty burger, you will enjoy every bite! If you can go for the brunch, absolutely give it a try. It’s set up entrée style, no buffet, but each dish is generously sized and artfully prepared. If you can find room, go for the dessert. So much to try, each time you go it will be a new experience!

Fresh local food prepared well with a good waitstaff. Good beer on rap and a very nice interior space. Also a Pre Fix menu that keep the tab pretty reasonable.

Located between Lee and Stockbridge on Rt 102 it would be easy to drive right by Perigee. Do yourself a favor and stop in. The main dining room is bright and airy with a small bar. There are additional seats upstairs as well as outside seating. I was told you can bring your dogs and eat outside. I will definitely return to try this out. I cant think of anywhere in the Berkshires where this is a reality. Perigee has amazing food that is both artfully and delicately prepared. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly. The Salmon and Swordfish were moist and full of flavor. The Truffle risotto had perfect consistency and the smoked chicken was tender. The service was friendly and prompt. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Because of this I can find no fault in Perigee. We will be back for more with my furry friends in tow

Perigee is perfect for out-of-towners to enjoy a nice date meal together. We sat downstairs and ordered an earl grey-infused martini, which honestly was the best martini I’ve ever had. I ordered the steak and my husband ordered scallops, and the food was melt-in-your-mouth divine. For folks who live in the Pioneer Valley, this place is like the Blue Heron of the Berkshires. Epic food, amazing wait staff, and killer drinks. Another cool thing about this place is that the owner decorated the walls with children’s art and photography projects. As a teacher, I thought that little touch really showcased the community, and it gave the place a warm, inviting feel. I will definitely be back!

I had a road trip to got to the Lee Outlets and couple of friends stopped here for early dinner before heading back to Manhattan. We wanted something casual with New England flair and different options such us gluten free dishes. First, we were skeptical due to all the bad reviews but then we gave it a shot. We purchase the deal they have 50%off on Unilocal and that saved us a lot of money. I am not vegetarian and I tried their veggie burger out of curiosity. Wow, it was very tasty and delicious, makes me want to be a vegetarian :) My other friend is Vegan and couldn’t be any happier with her dish. The portions and the price are very decent considering the quality of the food you get. The servers were very polite and was amazed she was able to remember everything since our orders where all totally different from each other. The restaurant is very bright, homey restaurant. I am so surprised of all the negative reviews as my friends and I had a totally different experience. We will come back here again when we do out Outlet shopping.

I stopped in Perigree on my way to RI to visit family. The area is cozy, quaint, and I decided that I wanted a nice meal before I got in after the long drive from NY. I agree with the other reviews, but the small portions are delicious! I loved the Clam Chowder and it was for sure one of the best bowls I’ve had in New England since I’ve been here. I went for the brisket so I could have a hearty dinner, and again, I was not disappointed. It was juicy, flavorful and well seasoned. I was sad that I couldn’t bring any home because I didn’t have any left after my meal! It was that good. I only stopped in once, but I had a great meal. My server wasn’t perfect(he accidentally spilled some water on the table, woops!) but he was nice and definitely made sure that I was taken care of. I would definitely go back for lunch if i was in the area again.

Despite what some people say, the food here is actually really great! The people at the restaurant were very pleasant. The BBQ chicken is a definite must-try. I haven’t yet tried anything else from the menu but so far so good. It was a nice restaurant to go to on a Saturday evening and I’d recommend it. Definitely check it out and decide for yourself!

I really wanted to like Perigee, but we left disappointed. We visited at the end of August and started with the Caprese salad special and a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad never arrived, and the Caprese was made from pale, hard(supermarket?) tomato. Offering a daily special in prime tomato season made from unripe tomatoes seems inexcusable. In contrast to other reviewers, we found the portions quite large(I didn’t finish mine). Besides the sad Caprese Salad, nothing was terrible, but on the other hand nothing was great either. The very first page of the menu hit a bad note: it is multicolored advertising for wedding bookings and party platters in at least 8 different fonts. Now I see on Unilocal that the restaurant offers coupons as well. I hate coupons because I don’t think a restaurant should need coupons, and I always feel like I’m subsidizing coupon-users. Portions were large, food was disappointing, but it would probably be a deal if you bring your coupon. ;)

Not a bad atmosphere, but incredibly tiny portions and pricey. Rib dinner had just 4 small ribs, resembling a child’s meal at the Outback. Salmon with rice and veggies resembled a plate at a business conference. A double portion of the mussels was the size of a normal appetizer elsewhere in the Berkshires. Best bet is a burger and a beer. 6 of us all agrees that we would not return and asked ourselves why we chose Perigee in the first place.

My review is based on what we got as take out, not the whole dining experience. So, it is based on strictly the food. We ordered the Blue Chip Nachos($ 9), BBQ platter($ 25), pork tenderloin($ 15), and the roast duck($ 28). For the money you pay the portions are small. The nachos were not blue but they were good. The BBQ ribs were the best while the chicken was dry and the pulled pork was under whelming. The sides were string French fries and coleslaw, neither was that impressive. The pork was a small portion, seasoned well, with roasted potatoes and vegetables. The duck was good. We did not enjoy the sweet potato hash but, you might. The mixed vegetables were fine. Overall — based on the food alone, not the experience because we weren’t there, we would not go back.

Perigree surprised me. My meal — the barbecue half chicken which was really a broasted, well brined half bird — served beside perfect sweet potato fries and a simple coleslaw was very good. Not too dry in the breast and succulent in the thing, the meal was well prepared. The Appetizer I enjoyed was the Goat cheese and Fig Martini and arguably one of the simplest but most delicious apps I’ve had recently. It was the meal of my fellow diner which disappointed me such that it hurt my own enjoyment of the meal. The risotto cakes she had were good but meager at best. Two small cakes sprinkled with mushrooms and beside a single floret of broccoli and small bundle of matchstick carrots for $ 18 seemed unreasonable at best. The meal employed much lemon, which while refreshing, didn’t always work with the flavors beside it(the risotto cakes namely). For the prices at this restaurant, I had expected more. Service was good and very friendly but ingenuine somehow — hurried perhaps? I had clearly not finished my meal and was approached to have it cleared. In all I don’t need to go back, which is sad, considering the attractive menu and restaurant space.

Date night? Family dinner? Lunch with pals? Sunday brunch? The answer is PERIGEE! Great food, great service, great prices. Perigee takes big city dining and adds your mom’s special ingredient: love! Never been disappointed. The regular menu is fab but pay attention to the specials. There’s gold in them hills!

This was our first visit to Perigee and we’ll be back. We started with the Perigee salad($ 9) which had butternut squash, grapes, pumpkin seeds and other goodies over mixed greens. It was excellent, although the portion somewhat small for the price. We also had a garden salad that was typical mixed greens and very inexpensive at $ 3. For dinner we had the trout piccata that was delicious.($ 24) The trout was cooked perfectly and the skin was crisp. The sauce really complimented the dish. We also ordered the combo BBQ platter(Chicken, ribs, pulled pork)($ 25) This was very good, but not over the top great as you can get in some of the better BBQ places. Drinks were very reasonably priced, and the beers, if not a mistake, were a steal at $ 3 each. Overall the menu offers a wide variety of interesting choices and you can go as light or as heavy as you like, so it would be easy to satisfy a group with varied tastes. The atmosphere is welcoming and casual. Service is friendly but a bit slow. Worth a visit.

Tagline: They’re doing really good for a restaurant that’s only 2 years old, but just need to make a few refinements to make things perfect. We went on a rainy Tuesday night. While I was initially afraid that Perigee was going to be some sort of overpriced, ultramodern, culture-clash culinary nightmare, I was pleasantly mistaken after my visit. The décor is unique and yet cozy, without being overly funky or demure. The waitstaff was professional, candid, and prompt. Excellent menu too. There are some $ 14 – 18 entrée options for the more budget conscious(like me), as well as some really premium dishes for the more carefree. We had the Asian-style chicken wings, the pork schnitzel, and the roasted eggplant. All three were very enjoyable. Okay, time to nit pick… the LITTLE things that prevent Perigee from getting a fifth star from me… — The portion size on the roasted eggplant was a bit small. I suppose that could be expected for a vegetarian dish, but c’mon, maybe another piece of eggplant or scoop of the side dish please? :) — No complaints on the portion size of the Pork Schnizel(it was big!), but they could have done a little something to jazz up the Spatzle side dish, which was served plain. — The chicken wings were a little dry, though they did taste REALLY good from having been smoked, and served with tasty dressing. So, all-in-all, Perigee has a bit of growing up to do, but I think they’re really on the right track. Give ‘em a try, I’m sure you’ll have a very nice meal.
