My favorite thing to order is Cajun chicken Alfredo! The portions are crazy and it comes with warm bread. The burgers are tasty as well and I prefer the waffle fries over the regular fries. The menu could use some updating… I enjoy coming here for karaōke, too! They have a burger night which is worth the price! They are renovating the whole bar area right now and I’m excited to see the final result!

This place was pretty good for an unsuspecting restaurant. From the outside, I thought this was a gourmet restaurant, with expensive food. But the menu proved me otherwise. For lunch, they basically just have sandwiches, burgers, and a few small dinner plates. The dinner menu is more elaborate. We were the first customers in the dining room, but it wasn’t crowded for the lunch service. The prices range from $ 6 for a tuna sandwich to about $ 11 for gourmet burgers. Service was very nice, not extremely professional, but respectful and quick. We had ordered the clam chowder, which was surprisingly really good. It wasn’t creamy by any means, but there was an abundance of perfect clams. The broth had a nice taste. For our meals, we had a burger with onion rings, a chicken parm sandwich, and a chicken and bacon sandwich with Cape Cod potato chips. The burger was excellent, perfectly cooked, juicy, and tasty. The onion rings were okay, but weren’t worth the extra charge. The chicken parm sandwich was quite small, but the fries were a great additive. The chicken and bacon sandwich was creative and quite good. Overall, a pleasant place for a family meal or a place to get a decent sandwich fast.

Very average to subpar food. BF and I ordered salads for a quick lunch in town. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad. BF ordered the cobb salad. Both were just ok. Nothing to exhalt. They serve bar food, fine dining this is not. It filled our bellies, but this is not a place that we will be rushing back to nor particularly recommend. Price point was a bit steep too for the quality of food.

We eat here almost every tine we are overnight in Stockbridge. The food at Michaels has much more variety for our family than the fancy dining at the Inn next door. One time when Michaels was very busy the hostess saved us a lot of time by letting us know right up front that they’d be delayed in serving us. While some may take that as a negative we appreciate the honesty and didn’t stay — but have since returned. There are two dining areas — the bar area has several booths(and the bar) and the outer dining room has booths and tables. We usually sit in the outer dining room. Have not noticed any dirtiness or dated interior. We’ve eaten here probably 6 to 8 times overall.

As we walked in a couple told us «you must order burgers’. We took their advice(even though we are some time vegetarians). WOW. One of best burgers we’ve ever had. And those sweet potato fries. Great service and memorable meal.

Dirty– out dated– unkept– for a place that has a guaranteed-to-make-lots-of-money location, they sure don’t capitalize on the gem location!!! With a complete make-over, Michael’s could be a real money maker(Hello, Jon Taffer?) Unfortunately, besides the location, the place is simply a glorified bar with food you would expect to find in some small town which only has one or two minorities and not a whole lot of dentists. The food is ok. The physical bar is a joke. The bathrooms are nasty. The people are friendly enough. Just don’t expect much and you won’t be disappointed.

Michaels isn’t great and isn’t terrible. If you want something quick to eat and grab a beer its perfect.

My dad and I went here for burgers and beers! They have a special and certain nights one is 6.50 for a burger and fries with two toppings added to your burger. I ordered mine medium rare with bacon and fried jalapeños. Came out cooked perfect and it had just the right amount of heat. This place is a locals hangout pretty much… Grab a beer, order a decent burger and chow down while watching sports and relax!

This was our second time at this restaurant. First time was a couple of years ago when we stopped for lunch. It was OK. Tuna sandwich was good. Today we stopped for dinner. Not happy with the food or the prices. Maybe this restaurant is good for lunch but maybe not for dinner. Will be trying other restaurants next time we’re in the area.

Had dinner here last evening with 5 friends. I see the last review was posted a year ago. They have obviously made changes. The décor was lovely. The food was great. The service was superb. We all had different entrees… extremely generous portions… and all were delicious and reasonably priced. I can personally recommend the chicken carbonara.

I don’t understand how this place could be so crummy in such a wonderful location. The outside of the restaurant offers promise, but once you enter you’ll be greeted by very dated commercial carpeting and a dingy/gloomy atmosphere. We ordered our food to go and ate in the car… this turned out to be a smart move because the bar was crowded with obnoxious, cursing sports fans yelling at the television. The bathroom looked like a «handyman special» gone wrong with missing tiles and rerouted pipes sticking out of the walls, skeevy! Now for the food… my husband had a turkey sandwich which was satisfactory. Now, don’t ask me why I ordered this, I must have been feeling adventurous when I chose the clam strip wrap with lettuce and tarter sauce. At least my suffering could be your benefit… don’t order it! The clam strips tasted like they were taken out of the freezer from 1982, deep fried the day before and microwaved upon my order(chewy & flavorless). Our son ordered the chicken caesar salad wrap. Well, I know how they killed the chicken for that wrap… they drowned it in caesar dressing. I actually feel bad for that chicken, he died for that sandwich and was additionally disrespected! So, how has this place stayed in business for so long? Take a look at the reviews, the only positive customer is one who’s been drinking… AH-HA! Order a few beers, drink, yell at the television and then place your order for the frozen TGIF appetizers… enjoy!

Wednesday, July 18th, 2012. Unilocal needs a «minus stars».In town for a performance at the Fitzpatrick theater, a 7PM show. Just wanted a hamburger or something light. My wife is on weight watchers and needed protein. We had a very nice waitress who understoiod our schedule and our needs. We each ordered a rare hamburger and a salad. The salad was iceburg lettuce and 1 ring of onion and a cherry tomato. Both burgers came over cooked. We sent them back. The cook, I guess trying to be cute sent them back raw, partially frozen and had poured cooking grease from the grill over them. We told the waiter that we were only paying for our salad and leaving and she knew the cook had done it on purpose and appologized. By then it was too late to go elsewhere as we had 30 minutes or less to get to the theater. We had almonds and water for dinner. We would advise anyone to go elsewhere for dinner and would advise the owner to fire that cook. Stay away from this place.

I am rounding up from two and a half stars. Michael’s lost points right off the bat when it became apparent that our table hadn’t been cleaned between customers. Ick. I was somewhat surprised by how dated the interior was, and how«blah» the menu was, given the restaurant’s location in Stockbridge center and the fact that the surrounding shops seemed to be somewhat high end. I ordered a turkey BLT, and the turkey itself seemed super processed and not particularly high quality. It tasted alright, but for $ 9 I’d like more than a half-step above Lunchables meat. French fries ran an additional dollar, and they were crispy but a bit greasy. Another reviewer said Michael’s «lacks energy,» and I think that’s a fair assessment. However, if you’re just looking for a quick lunch and your expectations aren’t terribly high, you could probably do worse.

Great, reasonably priced lunch. The service was fast, the waitress was attentive and polite. I would definitely recommend stopping in for lunch.

Blech. We stopped here, hoping for a decent midday bite as we made our way up through the Berkshires toward Vermont. The food had practically no taste, the service was next to nonexistent(it took forever to get anyone to even bring water to our table, let alone ask us what we were ordering), and the entire clientele was geriatric. I’m sure there are better places nearby– it’s the Berkshires, for cryin’ out loud! I would say, steer clear of this place. It’s not worth the time or money.

Stopped in for a couple drinks and a cup of soup. Best thing I can say is that the TV’s were nice for the NFL games. Other than that, the soup was average at best & served warm, not hot. We asked the average bartender for a couple things, and altho she seemed accommodating, nothing ever really came of the requests. Looked around at food being served to others, and it didn’t look great. Overall, this place just lacks energy, and you could find a better experience elsewhere.

Stockbridge is such a beautiful area, there are bound to be better restaurants than this one. Unfortunately, my friends and I decided to go to Michael’s because we happened to be on Elm St. Big mistake! At first, it seemed like a normal competent restaurant. However, our food arrived cold and mediocre was at best. For the price and the great company I was in, I could forgive this slip in service. However, when it came time to pay, the staff including the manager were utterly incompetent! When my friends and I received the check, we carefully figured out how much each person owed, wrote down the credit card numbers and how much to put on each card and gave the ticket and card to our server. Thirty minutes later, our server had not come back to talk to us or brought us back our bill. After asking for the manager and then finally hunting him down on our own, he explained that he was having trouble dividing the nachos! Why didn’t they didn’t type in the amount on each card then swipe instead of trying to divide up the ticket? OR why they didn’t just come back to us after 5 minutes and explain that they needed one of us to pay for the nachos… that would have been fine too. To make matters worse, they they proceeded to short us the cash we put in initially with the credit cards when we finally had them to just put it on one card and said we would figure it among ourselves later. When I pointed this error out to them, they acted like I was causing trouble for them and were very rude and slapped the cash back in my hand. Moral of the story: If you like terrible, rude and incompetent service while dining on bland, cold, sub-par food, Michael’s is the place for you. Otherwise, I would suggest one of this beautiful small town’s other establishments.

I wouldn’t even give it 1 star, unfortunately that is not an option. The food was awful, and gave me nasty heartburn. The service was slow and snooty, and the silverware was dirty. Go to the Red Lion Cellar instead.

If you fancy yourself the next Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood, then Michael’s is your place on a friday nite. «The Big Show» used to be there every friday with his Karoake gear, although now their website says there is a new host, KJ Treme Sean Conin ready to showcase area«talent». I haven’t been there in a few months, so I cannot attest to how«good» the new guy is. I have always had a great time when I’ve been there. We have always gone with a very large group of friends, and for dinner and drinks. Their late night menu is fairly decent pub food, with everything from wings to potato skins, mozzerella sticks, salads, burgers and wraps. This menu is fairly priced, as are the drinks, which come in 16 or 32 ounce glasses(in case you wanna drink beer and pump up your biceps at the same time). The have a pretty impressive beer selection and always have drink specials which helps you get your extra courage up so you can make a fool of yourself with everyone else. The best part is watching all the wanna-be– American– Idol contestants belting it out for anyone who will listen… and you don’t have much of a choice. You have to scream to talk to your neighbors when Karoake is going strong. Overall, a good time and makes for an entertaining evening.
