Conveniently located near the Leesburg outlet, we didn’t experience any of the negative aspects mentioned from other Unilocal reviews. Between the 8 of us, we had a combination of phở, vermicelli dishes and rice dishes, and we ended up finishing about 95% of them. The service was fine, as we came here at 5pm on a Sunday. I didn’t like the tap water tasting a bit too ‘tap’, but fortunately the phở broth quenched our thirst as they’re not overly salty. I personally ordered the B3, which is grilled chicken on vermicelli — definitely better than the pork, beef and shrimp options, as they cook the chicken perfectly, while they overcook the other options. Pay at the counter once you get the check. Pretty straight forward service that is comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants. Pro tip: if you like their facebook page, you get 10% off the entire check. Make sure to find out if the promotion is still going on.

Great portions. Awesome selection of lean meat cuts or more traditional phở ingredients like tripe, and tendon. Great portions and quick service! Keep it up.

This is the first time I’ve been here, but I got the Chicken Phở and it was delicious. This place is great for first time Phở try-ers because they give instructions on how to eat it right inside the menu. Very clean and friendly staff.

Consistently delicious. Consistent great service. Don’t forget to pay at the desk. I’ve never seen them bring an actual check to anyone’s table before.

The only phở place in Leesburg that I know of. I suppose they win by default although I have no complaints about this joint. Family and I love a good comforting bowl Of phở and this place does the trick. Their rolls are solid and the phở is satisfying with their meat combinations. I usually get combo 13 – 16 which has meats I don’t remember how to mention(I know the brisket and tendon parts, that’s about it). I always tell myself to try something new like their vermicelli bowls or rice noodle bowls but I always go back to the traditional phở beef noodle soups. If it ain’t broke, don’t mess with it! I’ve never had problems with their service. Orders have always been accurate and their food tastes fine to me. Once again, no complaints!

Been coming here for years. It was hard adjusting to Virginia since moving from California. After several fail attempts of finding a decent phở place we finally found one! The 2 brothers that usually runs it are very friendly. Phở comes out piping hot every time. Rice dishes are good also. This has been a frequent place I take my family when they come to visit and on cold snowy days!

Every time I come here, the service gets worse and worse. And the food is even less appealing. There’s only one server who works there that is likable, everyone else is rude and standoffish. I would rather just keep going to Viet Chopstick… I ordered food for a pick up and I had to repeat my order FOUR times on the phone for the person to get it right, and then asked when it would be ready, first he said«10 minutes» then I said, «Okay, so will I get a phone call or should I just come in in 10 minutes?» And then he says, «what? Why 10 minutes? You ordered too much food, 20 minutes.» And I was already annoyed because of how long it took for me to order, so I just said, «Okay, can you just call me when the food is ready?» And then 40 minutes later, I don’t receive a phone call, I call back and tell the person(same guy) that I’ve been waiting for my food to be ready, and he said, «It’s been here, why are you taking so long.» And I said to him, «I didn’t get a phone call, I didn’t know.» And he says, «Well it’s ready.» And then hangs up. Then I go and pick it up, and once I bring the food home, I realize I’m missing most of the toppings and they gave me barely any broth!

Wow, my family and I were happily surprised that we had found such a decent phở place in the area! The prices are reasonable and the proportions are decent. The service was fast, not exactly friendly but they weren’t completely unfriendly either. There’s plenty of seating and it seemed like there were a decent amount of customers in the place. I definitely prefer Viet Chopsticks in Lansdowne Town Center, but this place isn’t so bad either. I’m just now reading others’ reviews about the illegal changing of tip amount. Hmm… I’d definitely be careful if you were to eat at this place then. Maybe bring cash instead? People don’t post things like that just randomly, especially multiple people.

Not sure how the food is! We just walked it and it was semi empty. I noticed a waiter look at us and then sit two menus down at a table across the room. I paused for a min trying to figure out if that was our cue since he didn’t say a word or even approach us. He them pointed to us and then pointed to the table! Um, no thank you! If that’s your customer service, I don’t want to even try your food!

BEWARE! This restaurant has a sense of entitlement to the point of committing fraud! Before you choose to eat here, know that the servers do and WILL alter your check total when they feel they deserve a bigger tip!!! Yes, they actually change their tips! And yes, this is 100% illegal. That’s not even the shocking part — the owner backs his employees on this matter(because the amount his servers alter their checks is too insignificant to be of any issue or concern). FYI, your server could do a fantastic job and still get a $ 0 tip, because they are not entitled to a tip. It sucks when you don’t get a tip, but you are NEVER allowed to alter a guest’s check. Your Phở Royal servers are STEALING each time they alter a check total! If you still want to eat here then just pay cash!

The people working here alter the tip Amounts on customer’s receipts!!! Please be aware of this place. I had dinner at this place about a week ago. My check was 26.12 dollars. My mom and I paid half and half and she decided to leave 2 dollars on the table and also made her total 15 dollars leaving an extra 1.94 on her receipt. I closed mine with no tip and closing it for 13.06. Well apparently this was not good enough for our server because he decided to alter the amount. This is ILLEGAL! I noticed 2 days after when I checked my account. I went back and complained with the manager Phillip Le and he told me to come back and see what had happened. He followed by texting me 2 receipts from other people!!! thinking it was me. I had told him what my name was and the last 4 of my debit card but still he refused to believe it. I went back that same day and showed him that not only it was me how was charged extra 2 dollars but also my mom was charged an extra dollar. Now, this is not about the 2 extra dollars I was charged on my debit card, its about the dishonest thief people that work here. Think about it, they charged EVERYONE1 or 2 extra dollars and by end of the night they walk away with over 100 dollars on extra tips that were NOT giving to them! They steal! My advice to you is STOP going here. The Phở is good but honestly there are so many other places where one can go. Or if you choose to keep going here, then keep a close watch on the charges on your debit/credit card because the employees here alter the tip amounts. It happened to me, don’t let it happened to you! At the end of the day I was giving the 3 dollars back. The 2 dollars from my receipt and the one dollars from my mom’s. I was also offered a 25 dollar gift card to try them again, but I declined it. I do not trust them anymore. I made sure to informed my family and closest friends. I am writing this so it does not happen to you.

This review is for the PHO only. Their Phở is probably is the good ones I have had in NOVA. Customer service is decent amd the place is very clean.

I think this place is solid, as is their location in sterling. I’ve only had the phở ga(chicken) but I love it. The only thing that I don’t like is the sliced white onions in the phở, personally I think the green onions are enough. I have yet to find a better spot for phở in Leesburg. And the best part– it’s walking distance from my house :)

I actually found Phở Royal to be fairly decent. As long as you manage your expectations, it was a good lunch for the price. We got some egg rolls and the sampler app to start. Everything was fairly good. I got the B5 which is the rice vermicelli combo and I thought everything was cooked well and rather tasty. Most of the party got phở and one person got a rice dish, everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was decent and overall I thought it was a cheap, good meal. No complaints here!

I must say that in my opinion, this place has gone downhill. I used to frequent this place when it first opened about 4 years ago +/-. I thought I was fortunate to have decent phở near my office. Since I was in the Leesburg area today, I visited today for lunch to get a small bowl. I got the basic phở tai and added meatballs. The condiments(sprouts, basil, jalapenos, lime) were plentiful but the sprouts were brown, dissapointing. As you know phở is all about the broth and the broth today was the greasiest that I’ve eaten in a long time. I can’t say that this was a onetime occurrence and hopefully it was. But, I won’t be returning anytime soon. If I remember correctly, about 4 years ago, it was consistently good. My fear now is that it is consistently bad.

After a long day shopping at Leesburg Premium Outlets(about a 5 minute drive away), I found myself craving phở, and thank goodness Unilocal led me to this wonderful restaurant – Phở Royal. It was about 9pm on a Saturday night, and we were probably one of the handful of late diners. We were seated immediately, and the server brought us waters with limes. My initial reaction entering was — what a nice, clean, phở place. I liked how they had a variety of sauces on the table, and I loved how they even have a separate mini sauce plate stacked on the tables to put your sriracha and hoisin sauce! No longer am I usually a spoon as my sauce plate! It’s the little things that make this place so great. I also like how each chopstick set had an individual sleeve. It made it feel very upscale for a phở place. Next, the basil were very fresh and clean! I’ve had my fair share of phở experiences at other places where the basil was dirty, had bugs, were withering, blackening, etc. But none of that here! The bean sprouts were also wonderful. And of course it comes with the default lime and jalapenos. It was the little things that made it such a good experience. We picked up a menu, and it had a very lengthy description of how to eat phở, which is good for phở newbies. I never seen such a lengthy explanation of phở on the menu, and I never experienced so my phở education. Even though I am a phở-aholic, I found myself reading it, and learned something new. Apparently you should shred the basil into bits before putting it in your broth for more flavor. I use to just take the entire leaf and throw it in. :) Finally, the food– I had the garden roll and small phở #13, which I believe just had everything. I usually don’t like steak in my phở, because at most phở places, it’s gets too overcooked and hard and tough to chew. However, at Phở Royal, the steak was just perfect. It was a little raw when it came out, so I was able to cook it to my own taste in the broth. +5 stars! Oh, and even their bathrooms were clean which I appreciated, and I liked their automatic hand soap dispenser. An excellent dinner to end a day of shopping.

Food was eh and the service was incredibly slow. The spring rolls were mediocre but fresh, so they’re probably the highlight of the meal. I ordered the house special phở with everything in it. Meat portion was reasonable, noodles were clumpy, and the broth itself was so sweet and greasy, I felt sick just trying a spoonful. I had to douse my bowl in Sriracha just to get some flavor out of it. Service was painful. We walked in and there was one table of two, and it took us a good ten minutes just to get our water and food orders in(we had looked over the menu and knew exactly what we wanted and was going to order everything with the water, but the waitress walked away before we could finish). The waitress was eating at a table diagonal to mine with someone(the manager, maybe?) on their iPads and her back was facing us, which made it a lot harder to get her attention without being those assholes who have to raise our voice to get serviced. She never turned around to scan her tables(by the end, there was a total of four tables occupied) nor did she come up to us and ask if we needed refills or even the check. Never going there again.

When faced we were faced with the situation of a ‘groupon purchased restaurant(Japanese Kitchen) closing down TODAY’, we had no other choice but to find another lunch place! Enter Phở Royal… and YES, we are glad we found you! They are located in the giant strip plaza off Fort Evans and Battlefield Pkwy. They are right next to the DQ! Table was already set with menus, and service was so prompt! We had apps and waters on our table before we could even turn around. We ordered garden rolls and spring rolls for appetizers. All came with some yummy peanut sauce and fish sauce. There were spoons, chili sauce, and soy already in the utensil tray on the tables. That is my kind of service! Food arrived just after we gobbled up those appetizers! Some of us had the grilled meats on rice or vermicelli while a couple of us had the«phở» on this hot and scorchy day. There was plenty of meat in the phở, a good amount of noodles, and the soup was tasty(I tried it, although I am not a phở eater). The grilled pork on vermicelli was amazing, so tasty, and the giant serving of rice filled me up! I’d definitely recommend this place if you are in the area!
