This is my to go place, when I want chinese take-out. Haven’t anything so far which was a dissapointment or not delish at all… On the comical side: on first two orders they made the spicy food extra spicy, since I’m Asian. Had to ask them to tone it down for me, but keep it spicy for my Caucasian hubby… and they always remember ever since *lol

I have been going here for years, I’ve never been disappointed with my meal. I always order something different from the menu, and it’s always delicious. Your order is always fixed fast and with a smile. They make you feel like family too.

Throughout our lives we come across moments that effect us forever, whether we know it or not. For me, one of those moments was when I first tasted the glorious food that Taipei Café cooks up. Taipei Café was one of the first places we ever ate at when we moved to Leesburg in 2001 and, like a fine wine, this place just gets better and better. Now, let’s make one thing clear, if you’re expecting Chinese takeout to be on par with something from Cutthroat Kitchen, then you need to reevaluate yourself. Taipei Café has an atmosphere that grows on you, that keeps sucking you in. That sweet rickety door, the hypnotizing stack of soda boxes that towers in the corner, the man who takes my order who’s trademark Adidas hat fills me with an indescribable happiness. Taipei Café has atmosphere and don’t you tell me otherwise. Set yourself up with the $ 5.99 lunch special and watch a bit of The Ellen Show before your told that your meal is ready. Taipei Café has perfected the art of Chinese food. Your styrofoam container is filled to the brim with food; play your cards right and that meal can last you a good two or three days. It’s hot and delicious and it’s all thanks to the wonderful cooks(not all heroes wear capes) that Taipei Café have scouted like a sports team. Kung Pao Chicken? Chicken Lo Mein? Wonton Soup? All the classics are here and are miles better than any other Chinese takeout in Leesburg, possibly even Virginia. Taipei Café is truly a diamond in Leesburg, a shining beacon of hope that maybe, just maybe, our lives can be improved immensely by some soy sauce and a bag that thanks me and wishes for me to come again. Don’t worry, Taipei Café, I will return again and again.

The people were decent… Food was AWFUL! I ordered the egg drop soup, and what was supposed to be broth was literally oil. Seriously it was. If you will eat literally anything, consider any place in the area. If you have actual taste, don’t come here. I don’t think I could even consider my meal Chinese food at all.

We had ordered from here a few times in the past, but in two occasions the food was not fresh. It tasted like it was reheated. We won’t be ordering here anymore.

So, it’s chinese food — how picky can you be? Well, this place gets a two star rating because the food wasn’t good. Even the shadiest chinese place can be good, since really they all look the same, smell the same, come in the same boxes., right? I order sesame chicken every time. This sesame chicken Is breaded to oblivion, slathered in a sauce that taste like pancake syrup and the rice taste like microwaved Uncle Bens. Needless to say, I’m not extremely picky when it comes to an 8 dollar chinese meal, but we won’t be back to this establishment.

This is my favorite Chinese place in the area, so good I’ve been here once a week for two months now.

First, this place does not seem like a Taiwanese restaurant, even though the name seems to imply it. It was wrong of me to assume that, but it is a bit misleading. To clarify, this is a Chinese restaurant. I went on a weekend and it was nice that they still offered lunch specials, however, I stuck with the dinners. I got hunan pork and crispy beef(?). The crispy(whatever meat it was) was good. It was a bit sweet and a bit savory, which is the best of all worlds. The hunan pork was okay, nothing spectacular. Total came out to about $ 25. So, justification for the stars: (-) Not a Taiwanese restaurant, as one would expect from the name (+) Offering lunch specials on weekends (-) Meh hunan pork (+) Not bad sweet and crispy beef(?) (-) Bit pricy for Chinese take-out (+) But, decent portion of food (+) Plenty of white rice Overall, there were more(-)s than a highly rated restaurant should have. The major upset was that it was not actually Taiwanese.

This is the best Chinese food in Leesburg hands down. If you are liking for a lot of food for not a lot of money this is the place. I could and have eaten here multiple nights in a row with no problem ghetto something different and just as good.

Ordered online, called an hour and 20 minutes later and they said they just saw the order. Food came rather fast after but they messed up the order entirely, forgetting sauces for main dishes, providing lomein noodles without being stir fried, and forgetting one main dish entirely while providing something not ordered. Would not order from them again nor go there.

For all you« Unilocalers» out there… RUN, don’t walk away from Taipei Café. On a whim last night hubby picked up some food from them. I ordered the fried lo mein w/chicken, beef and shrimp. Husband ordered crispy beef(under the chef specialties). There is nothing good I can say about this meal. The rice was hard as a rock. The stickiness and chewiness of the crispy beef was inedible. My fried lo mein noodles were limp and greasy and the shrimp smelled«off.» We threw everything away. Oh, forgot the appetizers… Fried dumplings – dough too thick, inside tasteless, dipping sauce no flavor. Teriaki Beef sticks – dry and chewy w/a thick sugary sauce plopped on top. PLEASEDON“T WASTEYOURMONEY. (If I could have rated this place«0» stars, I would have done so.)

I have been coming here since I was a child! The prices are great, the staff is so friendly and it is always delicious. :) The only thing is if you are planning on eating in during the lunch rush, you will have to sit on the floor, it is a very cozy.(by cozy… I mean relatively small for the amount of people who come in. haha) Take out is best. :) I can always expect consistency when it comes to their food.

My wife and I went there for the first time today and the food was absolutely atrocious! Dishes we ordered had no taste, and for the poor quality of everything prices we paid were considered outrageously expensive. The couple working behind the counter, whom I think are owners, had terrible attitude. I will never go back there again.

Good cheap food. Not much more can be said. It is better taken out or delivered as the atmosphere is on line with an old elementary school cafeteria. Love the pan fried noodles. They have to get fountain drinks buying sodas by the can is a pain and it ain’t cheap if you eat in.

Ok, most chinese restaurants are dirty. This one is no different, BUT the food is always hot and fresh @ a good price. I also love the old lady behind the counter, she reminds me of the soup Nazi from Seinfeld!

I was at the Walmart picking some crap up. I got a whif of the Chinese food across the way. I decided to go in a get some hot and sour soup. At one point they had the 2nd best hot and sour soup in Leesburg. It was right behind mine =) I’m always too lazy to make mine becuase it takes too much time. Anyhow I walked in ordered a hot and sour soup and at it there. First look was the color it was pretty light in color. The color use to be a lot darker. Then I noticed there was hardly anything inside. Very little mushrooms, lots of egg and some bamboo. They did put the green onions on top. I took a sip and about burned my mouth. That was a plus, it was hot, but not spicy wise. It also had a very watered down taste to it. Not sure why they changed their old recipe. That old recipe use to be very good. Oh well if I want good hot and sour soup, I’ll just have to make it for myself. I went back a couple other times thinking this was just a bad day, but this trip I think they changed it for good. As for the rest of the food, it’s nothing special. They probably do have the best combo prices, but thats about it.
