We’ve been coming here since Tenderjacks opened. Yes, the chicken tenders are greasy. And DELICIOUS. Their sampler platter is our favorite thing. Overall, for the price, not a bad place to go for a quick meal.

I’m kind of surprised at the negative reviews but then again we eat the burgers not the chicken. We’ve been coming here since it opened and love the fresh cut fries and the fact they cook burgers to temp ordered and also have a variety of buns– the multigrain is great. Some one in our family, or all of us, go here at least once a week and only a handful of times have we had a bad experience. It’s the restaurant biz, staff turnover and inexperienced workers happen. I would have given it 5 but I’m not loving the fact that is changing over to Delmarva Grill. The name alone annoys me and the jacked up prices already turn me off. We’ll just keep going there until it changes over and then stick to BRG for a burger.

Stopped by Tenderjacks to give it a try because I have purchased a booster card that gives a small discount. I have to admit, I was a bit discouraged to try it based on the reviews, but my experience there was okay. The setup here is to order at the counter, pay, and receive a table number to stick on at a table of your choice. You have to fill up your own drinks, get your own silverware, etc., in a manner very similar to Pei Wei. SX tried the 5 tender meal and I tried a daily special of chicken tenders with waffles, served with maple syrup, butter, and some cranberry relish sauce. The chicken tenders here are battered, which is something I personally prefer over breaded. The day we went, the tenders and fries weren’t soggy or overly greasy. The waffle was big, ol’ round Belgium style(very reminiscent of the university make your own waffles kind), freshly made and yummy. Everything in general was pretty fresh and piping hot. There is a lack of vegetable sides though. One thing here is that the sauces in general are on the weak side and pretty unappealing. I noticed on the tables that they are trying to change the name to DelMarVa’s Southern Kitchen… so, not sure if this place has underwent some managerial changes of somesort.

First time there. Ordered 5 chicken tenders fries and a drink. About $ 12.00 for it with tax. The fries were undercooked. The tenders were a variety of sizes, so a felt a little cheated. They didn’t taste bad but I think they could have been cooked a little longer so it was a tiny bit crisper on the outside. Not inspired to try again, but I might.

Four-stars for the burger. Far better than burgers at Blue Ridge Grill or Vintage 50. Great, brioche-type bun. Pricey. Fries were soggy and not edible.

I have lived in Leesburg for almost 4 years now and have never come here, until last night. I was impressed. Ingredients were very fresh, service was great, food was pretty good. You can’t go in expecting the same quality burger as Melt because you’re spending almost half as much. I definitely thought the quality of the meal was better than I expected for the price. I do wish the restaurant had been cleaner, there were several dirty tables when we went.

Stumbled upon this place while looking for a place to eat around town this weekend. The place is fashioned like a Chipotle restaurant, the menus are really hard to read throughout the place(not to mention positioned really high up above the ordering counter). bad choice in font and who puts yellow font on tan paper? I didn’t care for the seating arrangment either and wondered why they had soo many lights. The lady working there suggested the salads to us but if you’re a chicken tender place why would your salad be the best thing? I opted to try a bit of everything by ordering a combo platter which came with 2 wings, 2 tenders, 2 mini burgers, 2 dipping sauces(like 9 to choose from) and an egg roll. Oddly enough the spanish style egg roll was the best thing but its definately not your typical egg roll and seemed like something you’de find at a Baja Fresh. The mini burgers were dry little hockey-pucks coated in grease with some type of mayo sauce. The chicken wings were small and greasy. The chicken tenders were also small and kind of watery in the inside, they had an almost coconut flavor to them but maybe that’s because they were fried in peanut oil? The dipping sauces left something to be desired as the bbq sauce tasted like ketchup and the teriyaki sauce looked conjealed with little flavor. Whoever says this is the best burger joint in town probably hasn’t eatten at Burger King, cuz the burgers here are terrible. Between my dad and I we spent about 26 bucks and highly doubt we’ll be spending our time here again.

The hand breaded chicken tenders are OK. Not as good as the Zaxby or Raising Cane restaurant chains. Interesting sauces are there to complement them with everything from sweet to spicy. You’ll need the sauces, because the chicken is juicy and greasy, but pretty flavorless. Fries are the same, flavorless and greasy. They really could benefit from coming with a better breading spice(maybe a beer batter?) and possibly marinating the chicken in something like buttermilk or italian dressing to give the chicken a little help in the flavor department. Tenderjacks is a great idea, just needs some oomph to get it from being mediocre/average to great/excellent.

Bland, flavorless food. Go to california tortilla factory in the same shopping center… different cuisine, but far better taste.

Tenderjacks: The Taste of Disappointment — and Peanut Oil Tenderjacks is a place I’d been meaning to try for a while. Its menu is right up my alley; burgers, chicken, and fries. It’s usually hard to mess up that combination. However, Tenderjacks seems to do everything it can to snatch defeat from the jaws of culinary victory. Since it was my first time, I ordered two entrees: the basic cheeseburger and three chicken tenders. Both came with a choice of side. I only took one, some fries, since there was no way I was eating all that food even if it was terrific. The burger was passable, nothing more. One could get a burger of comparable taste/quality at any fast food restaurant. However, the bun was extremely slippery, like it was coated in grease or oil. Above, I mentioned ordering fries. What I got in place of said fries were badly overcooked(to the point of being downright hard) flavorless potato sticks. Again, they were very slippery, coated in a ton of oil, yet still managed to have no taste. Finally, I tried the chicken tenders. Here I was finally able to taste something — namely, the peanut oil. The tenders aren’t breaded in what I think of as the traditional sense. It seemed to me as if they were dipped naked into oil and the outer skin + the oil combined to make a highly greasy pseudo-breading that falls off easily if you grip your chicken tender too hard.(And you will, because like everything else, they’re super slippery from all of the aforementioned oil.) The dipping sauce the tenders came with(I had the KCBBQ) was quite tasty, but not enough to overpower the oiliness of the chicken. Tenderjacks is a pretty-looking place. The booth was comfortable, and the restaurant looked bright and clean. The service, however, is a disjointed mess. Orders are put up on a rack above the grill and filled in no discernable order. The group who ordered in front of me received their food well before a different group that had already ordered and sat down, and I received my food after at least 1 or 2 people who had come in behind me. For anyone looking to replicate the Tenderjacks dining experience at home, just drink a glass of peanut oil and punch yourself in the stomach. If you’re in that part of Leesburg and looking for a burger or chicken, go to the Roy Rogers in the same shopping center as Tenderjacks and save yourself the time, money, and frustration.

We love this place! The burgers are delicious and they’ll even make them rare for me. The salads are wonderful & quite large. I’m not a big fan of the chicken tenders(don’t care for breading) but my son & husband like them. The onion straws vary by visit — sometimes too greasy, other times just right. The fries are good, especially when they’re cooked to order(another benefit of ordering with no salt). This is one of our regular haunts.

3 stars because… All of the food is a bit too greasy — 1 star deducted And one time I caught the manager picking his nose on the line, and continued preparing food, and even eating some of it. –4 stars deducted. Would have put them at no stars if I could After I complained to another manager about the manager picking his nose, he personally came out and comped our food, and apologized. Add 3 stars.

The only reason I even give this place a single star is because my wife insists on going here for the Oriental Chicken Salad. For starts, the quality of food has dropped considerably since it opened. The food is nothing more than chlorine flushed beef pushed through a patty press. Tasteless and dry, and their turkey burger is cardboard. The staff then asks you how you want your burger cooked, but it’s served one way — well done. The only thing that is gourmet about this place is the Leesburg address. You want a great burger? Go to The Blue Ridge Grill.

We’ve been there about ½ dozen times and every time the food was great, fast, well-cooked, and service was great. Food is really tasty. Don’t know what all the complaints are about. ?? Hmmm… strange.

Chicken Tenders are little bit on the oily side but still very tasty. Fries are the best you can get around this area. I like their Southwest Rolls. It comes with a mango salad which is awesome along with the chipotle sause. Not for regular visits but once a month is fine. The people who work there are very friendly and nice.

Tenderjacks will never be mistaken for a 4-star restaurant, and they certainly don’t serve health food… but it is definitely a couple steps up from fast food and it’s pretty good if you’re in the mood for what they do well. Namely, chicken & burgers. I personally always go for the chicken tenders. They are lightly battered and tasty. But really, the stars here are the sauces. They have ten different sauces for your dipping pleasure. My favorite is the Gingeraki(a sweet, spicy ginger teriyaki). If you like dipping your fried meat in sauce — and really, who doesn’t — you will enjoy the chicken tenders at tenderjacks. The burgers are solid if not spectacular. The salads are pretty mediocre… but if you order salad at this place, it’s kind of your own fault. This is a chicken & burger joint. In keeping with the«a couple steps up from fast food» theme, the prices are pretty reasonable. Three tenders is something like $ 5.50.(They’re good sized pieces of chicken, not like the«nuggets» at the fast food places). I think the 3-star rating is pretty much made for places like this: not the greatest place ever, but they do what they do pretty well.

I’ve been here 3 times or so. Each time I leave with the same feeling. Bla! I don’t know how you can make chicken tenders that greasy. Trust me, I love my grease like the next fat guy. But they take it to a new level. Greasy foods can be good Five Guys has some of the greasiest fries and burgers around. The difference those actually taste good and they don’t taste like oil. When I cut into a chicken tender all I see is oil. The fries are also greasy and way over salted. I was told the burgers are the best, but when tried them, they were dry and flavorless. Most of the reviews here are pretty good. I guess I have different tastes than the rest. I even considered getting a salad, but I was afraid of the results. I’m not a fan of Oil an Vinegar dressing, I didn’t know if the would think I’m strange only asking for vinegar for my dressing =) I figure 3 strikes and you are out. Maybe I’ll go back one day and give it another go. My car can always use an oil change.
