The restaurant disappointed me. It is as clean and the staff is friendly. The food is weak in flavor and quality. They could do so much better. I like the style of food the purportedly cook. Just this food’s taste and freshness leaves a lot to be desired.

When I first saw the signs for this place, I was really excited that a new type of restaurant was opening up in Lemon Grove. Especially, since it’s small local business. When you first walk in the first thing you notice is the heat. It’s stifling. The door was open, but the breeze blows perpendicular. There isn’t much point in leaving it ajar. The menu is simple and straight to the point. The prices seemed fair. It was my first time there, so I opted for the chicken teriyaki. My sister ordered a combo meal that came with teriyaki chicken, sweet and sour pork, and an egg roll. The lady was nice enough to bring our food out to our table, so one point there. The food came out piping hot. My chicken had grill marks and it looked good. They really skimped on the sauce though. Barely covered the chicken. I took a bite and was instantly disappointed. It tasted like everything came out of a box. I was really rooting for this place.

I ordered the combo # 4 which includes chicken, sweet n sour pork, steamed veggies and rice. Its absolutely delicious and filling! The price was reasonable as well. The place itself is very calm and relaxing. Great place to come eat with family. I give this place 5 stars!

I don’t know why this place is called Teriyaki house. There is no Teriyaki sauce. What they serve you is watered down bland sauce. That’s my main gripe. I had a Combo #1 and it was fairly large, generous portion for the price. The chicken was a little dry but not too bad. The beef was nothing special. The rice was mushy and the vegetables were just average; felt like frozen vegetables. I would’ve enjoyed it if the sauce wasn’t so terrible. The least flavor I’ve ever experienced from teriyaki. And of course it didn’t even taste like teriyaki. It did come with a fountain drink though.

Had the combo. Half chicken half beef. Both were tender & flavorful to me. Great price too !! Will be back for more.

With reading the reviews, I thought we had a gem here in Lemon Grove. Too bad… I was wrong. This tastes like panda express but with leftovers heated up with extra msg to try make everything a little more savory. The prices seem right, but save your money and go elsewhere.

Did I hit this place on a bad day? Ordered a combo with skewered chicken and sweet sour pork. The pork was unidentifiable as pork and contained pieces that were batter only. Sauce poor. The vegetables were slimy and cooked to almost mush. The Imperial Roll was mush inside. The chicken did not resemble any kind of teriyaki chicken I’ve ever had before and the sauce was bland. The rice was mushy and tasted off. I tossed it all in the trash, and I am not hard to please. I so wanted to like this place. My experience was a big disappointment and not reflective of other reviews. ???

The food is great. Service is great, all around cool, lowkey spot. I’d definitely try this little hole in the wall spot. Definitely.

Good food, Good Service, reasonable price, simple menu. My wife and I ate there for $ 6.99 each and took home leftovers. I had the number one combo which had Teriyaki Beef Chicken vegetables and rice and a drink. Diana had the number two, Teriyaki chicken, imperial roll, sweet and sour pork, vegetables and rice. There was a man and woman working there both were friendly. My guess was they were husband and wife. My wife got a kick out of the electric trash can. So much so that she made a video and posted on FaceBook. We ordered at the counter but the food was brought to us. If you go there every day for two weeks you could try everything on the menu and some twice.

Just noticed this place even though they’ve been open for a couple of months. Lunch filled mah belly and service was excellent. The $ 6.99 Teriyaki House Combo #1. It’s a large to-go container of steamed rice, veggies, with a generous portion of both grilled beef AND chicken. The sauce is interesting, but for whatever reason it wasn’t reminiscent of a teriyaki flavor. Maybe because I didn’t sense MSG, or a strong sweetness or saltiness to it. Either this seasonal cold has dulled my palate or the sauce could be a new, healthy version I’m not accustomed to. Either way, this menu Combo scored a KO on my hunger pains. It was empty when I walked in on a rainy weekday afternoon. The cashier gal was friendly and polite with a cheerful greeting. She brought my tray over when lunch was ready. I appreciate the thoughtful service rather than having me pick it up from the counter, which would’ve worked for me too. She was just as polite as she thanked me for stopping by. I appreciate places that go the extra mile towards great customer service. Other observations: * Clean and bright dining area * Meh interior décor * Available parking at the front & back of the strip mall * Both cash & cards are accepted * Free, self-serve soda fountain refills * Visible, open kitchen area * Vegetarian menu options I’ll echo other reviews that mention the lack of diverse local food options beyond fast food and taco shops in this area. Lemon Grove isn’t exactly the go-to culinary hotspot of San Diego county, so newer small business places like this one is a welcome addition to town. There are other menu items worth exploring, so I’ll be back. We’ll see if Mini-me approves of the tofu dish. I’m rooting for this small business to survive in a tough, competitive market.

Finally in Lemon Grove there is a healthy alternative when dining out. Don’t let the old school glass storefront window scare you away. the teriyaki house is a little gem here. They keep the menu small but the taste is fresh and they stick to a few basic Japanese dishes… and prepare them well they do! Dine in and take out. Prices are competitive with the unhealthy fast food. Win win right!

Super fresh tasty menu. Friendly folks. And it’s so close to where I live. So excited they’ve opened and are offering a great Asian alternative locally compared to the current choices this is the best.

So I had to work this last Sat and when I got out from work my husband tells me he is craving some Teriyaki, so the first thing I do is to grab my phone and look in my Unilocal app for a teriyaki place, and found The Teriyaki House in Lemon Grove so we drove from El Cajon to Lemon grove. When we got there we saw 2 tables with some customers, and we order 3 teriyaki bowls they were delicious, we are going back soon. We meet the new owners they just opened up 2 month ago, the are Mexican Americans they were so polite and friendly. If I were you I will give them a try their prices are great, the vegetables are fresh and the chicken is good!

I grew up in LG and it’s about time we get a place like this! The food serving is generous, tasty and simple! The only recommendation I would make is that they need to spice up the salad dressing, it’s Italian dressing and not so tasty at all. So if you do get a salad, hold the dressing and add a couple of drops of the teriyaki sauce! Last recommendation is to the owners, live it up… celebrate and plays some music in there it sounds monotone in there. All in all, job well done to the family who brought some«life on Broadway!» Oh and hand out menus and coupons!!!

New Teriyaki place in the neighborhood! So fresh! I’m a bit of a teriyaki snob since I make it myself but I’ll be a regular here. It just opened and the owner is very nice. I really hope they do well and the food speaks for itself and amazing prices. Our meal was $ 6.95 and I couldn’t finish it, good portions. You have to try the teriyaki wings! Yummmmm!!!

I stopped by this new Asian eatery run by family of very nice Mexican Americans. They offer a simple and direct menu, which I liked, and I was going to order the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, but I wanted something a little spicy, so I went for the Thai Chicken Bowl over rice with vegetables for $ 4.99( ). The offer a generous amount of sliced grilled chicken breast. However, given that it was chicken breast and cooked over a grill, the chicken was a little dry, especially the smaller pieces, but the larger pieces were fine( ). I appreciate their health conscious view, but I cant help wonder if chicken thighs would be a better choice for this meal. The flavor of the chicken was very simple and the sauce tasted as if it came out of a bottle, or not of the homemade variety. The vegetables were well prepare and seasoned and tasted quite good( ). The rice was well prepared and their was a lot of it. It picked up the Asian hot sauce well enough and gave it some flavor and heat( ). The people who work are very nice and friendly. I like that they conversed and laughed during our conversation. Like I said, they have a simple menu, but works( ). No check in because for the life of me, I could not find it on my Unilocal App.

I was stumped as I sat eating my delicious lunch searching for this gem of a restaurant on Unilocal and found nothing! How could there be non stop customers coming in and no one Unilocaling about it!!! Soooo, I created a Unilocal location for them… they’re THAT good! The menu is short and simple, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I got a chicken teriyaki bowl without the rice and only chicken and veggies. The chicken was delicious! Crispy at some points and so juicy. The veggies were crisp and the flavor was devine! I will absolutely make the effort to return here soon and continue to support the success of this family business.
