When I got my first room the door was bent back so far, it was letting the cold wind inside the room. I got another room and it was a little better, but I guess the doors are made of some type of flimsy aluminum. Anyway, when the rooms heat up in a decent amount of time. Smoke odor in the room, but its a decent motel for the price. At least there was no bed bugs or anything. The wifi works pretty well. Biggest disappointment was the breakfast. I arrived at 8AM, no food left, not restocked and completely out of coffee.

Terrible place. No one was at the hotel, no cars, people, or anything and they put us on the top floor(3 flights of stairs). The weather was cold and 30 degree average and we had to go to the top floor every night. When we got to the top the keys didn’t work. When we got the door opened, smell of cigarettes poured out and drowned us. Showers don’t work properly, only works when the water works for the bathtub and shower at the same time. Toilet doesn’t flush. Bed falls apart and smells like cigarettes even with clean sheets. Cable works but not properly, only shows some basic channels while others have static. The heater works very well. House keeping comes by at random times of the day and sometimes does not come at all. They have never cleaned the room while we were there or not even there the whole day. Breakfast was just cereal and toast. Cheap coffee. Fake friendly service. Price was cheap but its not worth it. Don’t go here.

Sucks ass. Breakfast is just cereal and toast. TV Is blurry. Room smells like cigarettes. Toilet doesn’t flush. Shower head only works while bath tub water is running. Wi-Fi slow(250 kbps). Unconsistent house cleaning(pretty much done whenever they want.

Make no mistake. This is not a very nice place. I, however, like it. It’s run down, but safe and warm. Everything works and the people are nice. For me it’s a good value.

Horrible, horrible service. I called to place a reservation and I was on hold for half an hour. I hung up and decided to call back later in the day. Once I finally got someone on hold, they barely spoke English and couldn’t understand what I was asking. After repeating myself a few times, very slowly the woman on the other end yelled at me and told me, «I am very busy. You need to call back later.» I don’t care how cheap this place is, the staff is miserable.

I’m putting this review out there for those looking for a CHEAP Kansas City-area stay. I found a $ 28 rate on for the Knights Inn at Lenexa. It’s located on the same lot as a Days Inn, which charges a few more dollars per night. I’ve stay here twice now, and the rooms are what you would expect from a discount hotel: slight odor of smoke in one of the rooms, but clean overall. Everything functioned as expected, but towels were scarce. The continental breakfast featured cereal, gross mini muffins, and toast. I recommend the toast. And there’s nothing like waking to a free cup of Folgers! The area hotel borders I-35 to the west and a quiet residential neighborhood to the east. Plenty of restaurants nearby. No telling if it’s a good location for KC events and attractions, I was there for an overnight and that’s it.
