This place is a nightmare. From the day I moved in it has been a headache dealing with the rude girl in the office. When you enter the office she is the rude girl on the right. She is a heavier set girl than the one that sits on the left(the left is the nice one) Our move in date was scheduled for August 1st. Four days before the move in on July 28th they called my roommate asking if they could change out move in date to the following week. Despite having trucks rented and time taken off work for August 1st. After TWOHOURS of having to deal with this rude girl and the property manager, where they tried to offer us a smaller apartment instead, they finally realized they were in the wrong and reluctantly agreed to let us move in August 1st Day 1: when we first looked at the apartment and put a deposit down the lady we talked to said charcoal grills were allowed. When we showed up August 1st we found out that wasn’t the case and the previous girl was no longer employed with West End at City Center. It was annoying to find that out because we specifically chose West End over another place that didn’t allow them. Lenexa fire regulations. Ok, it was annoying and a bummer but whatever. Day 1 part 2: the rude girl refused to do a walk thru with us of the apartment. I have rented from many apartments and this was the first one that didn’t do a walk thru with me. So I did the walk thru myself and noted the stains on the carpet. This rude girl in the office actually argued that there were no stains. Despite having pictures on my phone she still said she couldn’t see anything. Finally after 15 minutes of me asking her to come look at the apartment with me she did and saw the stains. She said there was nothing they could do but that as long as I noted them on the check in sheet we wouldn’t be charged. About 3 months in someones small dog started pooping on the stairs on a daily occurrence. The only thing done was that a notice was posted on doors reminding people to clean up after their pets. Did maintenance remove any of the poop? No. March 6th: a notice was posted on the door today that said I was being fined $ 50 for having a bicycle on the patio. Apparently a notice was posted on the doors on February 11th that you could no longer have bicycles on your patio. We never received that notice. She swore she personally put the notice on our door, so we must have got it. I told her the wind must have blown it off. It is extremely windy in the hallways especially on the ends where our front door is. She said that wasn’t her fault and it was our responsibility to see the notice, wherever it was. Neither me or my roommate have a bicycle. The rude girl in the officr said she personally saw a bicycle on either the 2nd or 3rd floor and may have put the notice on my door by mistake. I told her, if she didn’t know which balcony it was she couldn’t assess a fine. She told me I had to go thru the property manager who was out of town. I asked her if she had photographs or anything showing a bicycle on the 2nd or 3rd floor. She did not. The people running this place are clueless, and they let this snotty little girl run the place. It is always frustration and lies with her. Avoid this apartment complex at all costs.

You’d think that living in the most expensive apartments in town would mean living in the best apartments in town. WRONG. Where do I even begin! I can hear my downstairs neighbors’ conversations word for word if we’re both in our kitchens. You know how in hotels you can hear clear as day anything going on in the hallway? Same thing here with the breezeway. The counter-top in our kitchen separates from our sink if you press on the edge. When we moved in I asked maintenance to look at our stove-top because the burners are really lopsided but was told«that’s just how stoves are.» The cupboard shelves are very flimsy and bow in the middle with minimal weight. The insulation is awful. We keep the thermostat at 68 but it’s always so cold inside we’ve got layers of clothes on and pay an outrageous heating bill — Last month was $ 140 for a one-bedroom apartment. I have been taking photos documenting the ice that develops INside the windows. We even got snow coming through the base of the sliding door that leads to our patio. At this point we have duck taped clear plastic over all our windows and doors and have towels shoved into the base of them to help keep out the cold and wet. Speaking of the sliding door… the handle has been broken off since we moved in and never got replaced even though we requested it twice. They don’t salt the stairways, which are currently covered in ice. I slipped and ate shit down the stairs just today. I’d have used the dry stairs from the breezeway to the covered parking area except that the doorknob has been broken for weeks so the door doesn’t open. I went down the hall and tried another door — same thing. In another building I noticed that there is a breezeway door completely taken off and leaning against the wall — has been that way for weeks as well. During the summer we complained about half the pool furniture being broken but it never got repaired. They’d just stack the broken stuff in a corner and leave it. The gym equipment is always filthy. When they closed down to remodel a few months ago I was so happy because I thought they’d fix up the equipment or at the very least give it a good cleaning. Nope. We finally just joined the gym down the road instead. My advice — Move into those apartments just around the corner on Renner across from Lifetime fitness. For what a one-bedroom costs here you can get a two-bedroom WITH a covered parking space and a fireplace over there. And they have two pools.
