We stopped in here early on a Thursday. This place is worth a visit. The service was great! This visit I had a Cajun Cheeseburger it was very tasty. My husband had a Hot Beef Sandwich with mashed sweet potatoes topped with butter and brown sugar.(very good!) Our food came out quickly. I have also had a crab cake sandwich here that was good. They do have a Happy Hour here during the week with reduced drink prices. We will definitely be stopping back again!

Lovely, warm, homey country restaurant, the kind you think, «this is the America that foreigners love to discover». Food was delicious, high-quality and fresh. Meaty and juicy crab cakes, garlic mashed potatoes and AMAZING iced tea! They have a giant ballroom at the rear where they have dancing twice a week. A kid who worked there said they get 300 people sometimes. This city kid wished I could make that scene! It’s right off the highway, and so totally worth a stop.

The atmosphere is casual and homey and the service is outstanding. My husband had a seafood platter and he said it was delicious. I ordered the New York strip steak medium rare. When the server brought it out he asked me to cut into it to make sure it was okay. It was a little too underdone so he took it back. The chef brought it back out a few minutes later and waited until he made sure it was cooked to my liking. It was and it was terrific. I was not made to feel one bit guilty for sending the steak back. The server and the chef were seriously interested in my satisfaction. And the apple pie for dessert — just like Mom’s.

The meal was very good. The clam chowder one of the best I tasted. The server was very friendly and attentive. Great place to go if you want something local. Weds nights they have bands. The one they had last night was pretty good even though country music isn’t my thing. Will be back for sure.

Food was good and well priced. Our waitress was super friendly. Kids enjoyed their meals and the chowder was yummy. Very homey place to have a meal with the family.

We drove by here and weren’t sure if itd be appropriate for our young kids, but the waitress was extremely friendly and brought them crayons. They even had pb&j on the menu. All the food was delicious and priced well. My husband’s ribs fell right off the bone and my chicken cheese steak was glorious. The waitress was attentive, and polite. She noticed when my drink was almost gone and refilled it. This place is everything I love in a restaurant and they have a ton of space for functions. 2 thumbs way up.

Really affordable, simple, and good American-style pub food. Service was good, and the whole restaurant had a friendly small town atmosphere. Lunch specials on Sundays. Seems like a great place.

I haven’t eaten the food here, but I used to come here every, single Thursday for line dancing when I was in high school. They have line dancing every Thursday night. It’s $ 6 for admission(cash only) and incredibly fun. They play the same songs each week, which gives everyone an opportunity to memorize the dances. It’s a younger crowd. I went back last night for the first time in years. I’m 24 years old and felt REALLY old. The bar area has an older crowd. More my age. I was disappointed to find that they renovated the place with a divider wall. On the other side of the divider wall is what they intended to be a night club. It was sad, at best. There’s a DJ playing pop/house music and strobe lights, but it’s in Lenhartsville… Not exactly night club territory. There were maybe 30 people in this area shuffling back and forth to the music. It just felt… awkward… It IS a cheap spot to drink. I figured they might price gouge on a Thursday night(I remember back when I was in high school, they’d charge SO much for a bottle of water), but a Yuengling was only $ 2.50. I live in Denver now, so maybe that is expensive for the area, but to me, it feels pretty cheap. On Thursday nights, there’s absolutely no parking available in the lot. You’ll need to be prepared to park on the street. All in all, this place is a really fun spot to line dance and grab a drink on Thursday nights.

Went here for a wedding last week and they could defiantly do something better… Food was to a minimum to say the least. It seem like they couldn’t keep up with the people. It was a buffet style so that’s makes it much easier to do rather than making separate plates. Speaking of plates they were dirty along with the centerpiece holding the flowers in the middle of the table. Your a catering hall you have people from all over visiting your establishment for the first time every… PUTSOMEEFFORT into it. Also they need to add more people to there staff… I sat in line waiting for a drink longer than I mingled around to speak to family members I have not seen in years. Be careful holding your next wedding or event here unless the price is cheap which I’m not sure.

Great food? You have to be crazy! I can see this place being very popular with some because it is the only place to go dancing but it will certainly not be on their food. Same institutional, fried crap and they can’t even do that right

If you happen to find yourself in the vicinity of Lenhartsville, Hamburg or Kutztown PA, you must stop at C.J. Hummel’s. This cozy out of the way place started about 50 years ago as a beer-n-burger joint for truckers, hikers, and the locals of the beautiful Lehigh Valley area. Over the years, this family owned business has expanded, and the menu has grown from burgers and fries to include complete dinner entrees as well as salads, appetizers and home made desserts. And very reasonable. Glasses of wine for $ 2.99, and, a very nice selection for such an off the beaten path place. The only reason I’m not giving Hummel’s a five star rating is, the creepy ladies room. You have to walk through a large empty pool hall to get to the ladies room. Or, in the evening, a pool hall in full swing. My daughter and I were almost struck with pool cues several times going to and coming from the ladies room area. Other than the logistics of the restrooms, Hummels is a great find. Great burgers, wonderful service, and reasonable. It’s a Go.

Great food at a good price. I love the honey stung chicken. They have drink specials and whenever the long island ice tea is on special I get it. It is right off of 78. They also have country line dancing nights too if you are into that. I have also seen wedding receptions held here in the hall attatched to the building. It is a very cozy place with a nice wait staff. You can’t go wrong.
