McArdle’s Pub

A real gem of a find. The sort of bar that’s unassuming from the outside, but full of character once inside. The food is amazing; definitely the best corned beef sandwich I’ve ever had. Highly recommended!

Burgers are good and huge. Must be a ten ounce burger. The chili is excellent. The cold sandwiches are ok but could use more lunch meat. This is a bar but ok to take kids into the dining area. Tends to be noisy because of the loud bar patrons. We were so glad when they left. Made our dining experience better.

This place is awesome, and a great hangout for me and my family who live nearby. This place honestly has the best bar food in northern Berks County, in my opinion. The quality is surpassed by none. Don’t let the divey look dissuade you: in fact, I prefer the old-​timey pub kind of aesthetic. Now that sounds pretentious, doesn’t it? The service here is great, all the servers are pleasant. The only thing the place could improve on is their beer selection. Now, I get it, it’s a pub, so I’m not going to be too critical… you have your standard fare on tap (Yuengling, Guinness, etc.), but with food this good, there should be a beer selection to match it.
My recommendation: the McPickle sandwich (with fries), and maybe the amazing nachos for an appetizer.

I have been going to Mcardles since they opened years ago. There is not a bad meal in the place. The service is positively great and wait staff is always friendly. We eat at this pub at least once a week. Our favorate place. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.

Best food ever. The service is always great and I like the atmosphere, but even if those things weren’t as good as they are, I would still go here just for the food. Do yourself a favor and get their fries. Burgers and sandwiches are also amazing. The outside might not be much to look at, but I wouldn’t change a thing about this place.

I love this place!!! Great people and always a good time. I can’t say enough about the food. I think over the years I have eaten everything on the menu with no complaints. The fries are the best!!! One of my favorites is the chicken salad and buffalo garlic wings.

Best bar/​pub around! Great prices on everything from drinks to food. Fish and chips as well as the wings and sandwhiches are to die for! The bartenders are the greatest and service is impecable! A personal favorite for me and many friends!

Divey but goodie. This is definitely a local place but also a great place for a beer and hanging out.
I’ve been coming here with the Mrs. and her family for years and it’s always superb. Beer is beer. Don’t get offended by the lacking ‘craft’ beer. Just order a lager (Yuengling) and get a fish sandwich (fish and chips are of the same quality). The fish is always piping hot. Served on a nice soft hoagie roll with lettuce, tomato, onion and american cheese. French fries and tartar sauce finish the basket. Far from gourmet but spot on delicious.
The second thing you should order is the messy nachos. Unlike the other lazy nacho places that slop on the ingredients on TOP of the chips, they actually layer the chips with chili, jalapeños, cheese, olives, tomatoes and a big dollop of sour cream.
They also have a lot of other sandwich options that are very tasty but for me, it’s all about the fish and chips!

Great pub food for the price. Fish and chips were excellent. Beer menu is very lacking. Only 1 craft beer and it was sold out.

I have been to McArdle’s probably 400 times — no lie! I have been going there since I turned 21, about 14 years ago. That was around the time McArdle’s opened.
This place is the best. It has awesome wings, though on the small side (but that makes them taste even better) the sauces are original and very tasty. On Wednesdays after 6pm they have a 2 doz wings for around $ 10 special.
The dragon sammich is very good it contains chicken, black olives, jack cheese, tomato on a sourdough roll.
The fries are skinny and very good with the malt vinegar that is on every table
The fish and chips are a good meal, nice size piece of haddock.
If you are feeling like clogging an artery try the Irish Cheese Steak, 8oz chopped corn beef with swiss and thousand Island dressing it is awesome.
The burgers are 8oz and the bun is sour dough another great selection.
The beer selection is good not great. Harp, Guiness, Labatt Blue, Miller Lite, Yuengling Lager, coors light on tap. Many other bottle selections available, but don’t go here looking for micro brews on tap.

I came here when I turned 21 w some friends… Great time, even helicopter blades in the men’s room…

By far, 100% our favorite pub in all the land! We go back and forth from PA to NJ pretty consistantly and this has and always will be our #1 spot. The place itself is small and not much to write home about if you are just passing it on the road. I would not have even noticed it — it was my boyfriend who discovered it a few years ago. He would always pass it on his bike and decided to stop one afternoon.
The food is ridiculously good and cheap! Not the most typical sandwiches — they all have a flair. The cook is a genius, I guess, because the food is amazing every single time — not one time have we experienced «bad» food — and we have been here probably close to 50 times within the past two years. The staff is amazing — a husband and wife own it and they are super sweet. Our favorite waitress is Melissa — she is so funny and so sweet, sometimes we go in just to see her!
Really, if you are in the area — you MUST try this place. It’s a local hangout that is totally worth the trip if you’re not from the area!

Awesome food, awesome service!!! Just get there early, because it gets very full at dinner time and there are often long waiting times. But overall, an excellant bang for your buck!

Best Cheeseburgers in the Valley. They will make it exactly like you want! We also had the Fried Pepper Cheese with Southwest Sauce. Excellent!

This is your neighborhood bar where everyone knows your name. Their food is the basic pub grub with an Irish flare but they do it right! The only thing is that it is pitch black at 5 pm in the bar area but the dining room is bright and cheery. I always get the Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich while my friends get the Caesar Chicken and the Honey Mustard Chicken. These sandwiches are served on these awesome sourdough roles that are to die for!
