Best thing about this place is that the price is so cheap! I got a burger, fries, chicken nuggets, and a drink for about 5 $. It was a good amount and variety of food. Don’t expect it to be amazing. But it is decent for the price. Can’t complain. The service was quick and they were crowded as well.

Overall, we’ve always been happy with the food we get from Cookout, but this particular location has just terrible service. The employees always talk over us when we’re trying to order. They have a bad attitude when they give us our food. And, half the time, we have to remind them that we ordered a milkshake or else, like tonight, they forget to give it to us and we drive off without it. Again, the food is good, but the experience is always a frustrating one when it comes to this location.

The food is just okay. Burgers are usually over cooked or burnt. Fries are just okay… sometimes they are undercooked. Hotdogs with chilli are pretty good. It’s hard to mess up a hotdog.

The food is just okay, nothing special. They do have an awesome milk shake menu that makes it worth going.

This was my first visit to the chain. The menu on the wall seemed awfully vague, but thankfully a guy in line gave me the low-down, and said the food was consistently okay. Got a BBQ chicken sandwich, it was one of the smallest chicken breasts I’d ever seen — but it tasted pretty good. Fries were really undercooked, and soggy, yet with as many people in the place that sure shouldn’t have been the case. The cashier was friendly, always a plus. But eating in that place, was awful — it was incredibly loud and annoying, mainly because the acoustics of the place stinks, and all the super-basic industrial style of the whole inside experience is obviously intended to keep people moving quickly out of the place like cattle — imagine 80+ people, many young, hollering in a darn echo chamber! I think everything from food to self service equipment, and industrial atmosphere is all geared towards one thing: feed the cattle and move ‘em on out ASAP. I’ll use the drive through next time, and skip the fries. Hate to say it, but every other fast food joint in Lenior is at least 3 times more comfortable to eat in than this place. Maybe you’re a milkshake person, and like the 100 or so flavors — which translates to vanilla, with a squirt of some flavored kind of syrup… definitely a two-star place IMO.

This is a known quantity when passing through Lenoir. If you’re not in a hurry and are not afraid of trying new things, there is not really a reason to stop here. But the food here is consistent with the rest of the chain, and if you are a particular fan of Eastern NC barbecue then this place will come closer to what you want than any other place in the whole county than perhaps Hog Wild, which is most of the way to Morganton and not an option for travelers on U.S. 321.

I really like this place for a cheap burger or chicken sandwich. Nothing fancy, but good service and a great price. Try the cajun chicken sandwich(without mayo) with some slaw on top. That with two sides and a drink is less than $ 6. Good shakes for dessert as well. Drive thru open real late.
