My husband and I love Panda House! The food is always fantastic, the staff are always courteous and pleasant, and service is fast. What more could you want? Hands down our favorite Chinese food place. I even recommend it to friends who live over an hour away just in case they just happen to run through Lenox!

New ownership since the previous reviews, but part of extended family of the original owner. This has refreshed the energy of the place with a youthful vibrancy, and it shows in the cuisine. Being of Asian descent, I’m pretty picky when it comes to Chinese cooking. A diverse pick of vegetarian friendly dishes. The chow fun is as good as any city, and the eggplant with Szechuan sauce is delicious. The manager always greets me by first name with a smile.

We were looking for a Chinese restaurant close to our condo. All I can say is «Wow!» We had sesame chicken, pork fried rice, and spring rolls. The food was ready when we picked it up and still hot when we got back to the condo. The only issue was there was a bit too much onion in the rice. Fast, easy, and all around great place! I’ll definitely come back here on my next trip to this area.

General Tso chicken is the best compared to other restaurants that i have tried. Meat is cooked tender and moist. Nice ambience and clean tables. Excellent dining experience.

Best Chinese in the Pittsfield, Lenox, Lee area! I have tried several Chinese restaurants for takeout over the years and this is the best! The food is fresh and has good flavor. Recommended to me by coworkers and I was happy to finally find some good Chinese in the Berkshires! They were prompt with my order. I give only 4 stars because when I ordered through the app I was charged for my soup and never received it

I had a wonderful experience here last night with my partner. After originally trying to eat at the Luau Hale and ultimately walking out before ordering due to the overwhelming toilet smell, I remembered Panda House, which I hadn’t visited in 10 years, as a back-up. We’re so glad we chose this restaurant! The parking lot was busy and we entered to see a lot of tourists from New York(whose tastes in Chinese food I trust!). The place smelled clean and like food, thankfully. We were given free Chinese tea and crispy wonton chips prior to ordering. We decided upon the pu-pu tray, one order of General Tso’s Chicken, and one order of broccoli in garlic sauce(all to be shared by two). When the entrée was brought out, we were wowed by the presentation — there was a beautiful«vegetable flower» carved from a radish and carrot on a bed of ribbon-like carrot pieces. Just gorgeous! Everything was accordingly spicy, garlicky, and flavorful. It was a nice touch that we were able to order brown rice as a side instead of white rice, too. The waitstaff was excellent and attentive, filling my partner’s often-drained water glass time and time again. Everyone was warm and welcoming! I’ll certainly be back the next time I’m visiting my family in Pittsfield!

If I could give them fewer stars I would! They serve rotten food. We ordered shrimp and broccoli steamed(no sauce) and the shrimp was mush. When we returned it we were told that it was like that because it didn’t have sauce on it. They have seriously slipped! Will not be returning.

The food here is first rate. There is a wide selection of dishes to satisfy vegetarians and vegans. The presentation of the food receives care and attention, with plates beautifully garnished. Overall there’s a lot to like, but some issues too. Our visit this weekend was marked by slow service and inattention. From the time we were seated until I finally got up to ask the hostess for attention from the wait staff was over ½ hour. We weren’t in a big rush, but also didn’t intend to spend the evening. The service was slow even after that, with the waitress serving our section of the restaurant making only rare appearances, and other staff showing up instead. When we ordered, we specifically made a request regarding a food allergy to garlic, asking that it not be added to dishes. One of the dishes we ordered had many slices of garlic cloves spread throughout. The allergic member of our party ate the other dish. The waitress who took the order repeated the order back, including the«no garlic» request. This is perhaps not the place to go if you have food allergies. The restaurant had a general appearance of being more run-down than the last time we visited a year or two ago. The front doors could use a coat of paint. The bathrooms were not well maintained. Overall it wasn’t awful, but like the inattention to food allergies, the impression was of an organization that just wasn’t really trying. That’s sad given the kitchen can and does produce great food. Take out is perhaps the best option until the other issues are resolved.

ROTTEN and LOUSY Last night was the second time I’ve been there and the last time. We were a group of 10. The soup came but without spoons. It took 10 minutes to get our spoons. It took an hour and fifteen minutes for seven of us to get our food. Then at least 20 more minutes for the rest of us to get our food. All the could say sorry sorry sorry. Never offered anything else. If your looking for bad service and a place to ruin your evening then this is the place to go. I

The Berkshires area doesn’t have a lot of Asian food, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I brought my family for dinner during a recent visit. I was pleasantly surprised by the food and the friendly service. We ordered baby bok choy with garlic, beef chow fun, chicken & black mushrooms in a clay pot, shrimp dumplings, wonton soup, and fried ice cream for dessert. It was all quite good and inexpensive. The ingredients tasted very fresh. I was especially charmed by the very friendly and helpful staff people. They were just terrific in balancing the need to be both attentive and unobtrusive. We had a really pleasant evening here.

Don’t let the run-down exterior scare you away — the place is clean inside, the food was good, and the staff were very attentive. If you’re in the mood for Chinese, give them a try.

Nearly the PERFECT Chinese style lunch. Décor: 4 Stars Clean, Bright and comfortable Service: 5 Stars From the taking of the order to the serving of the soup, the meal and the check my wife and I felt like royalty. Very attentive and friendly Hostess & server. This is a place that wants you to know that your business is appreciated Food: 4 Stars Seafood hot & sour soup — Amazing flavor combo that is a sure winner Tangerine Beef — fork tender and the flavors just EXPLODED in our mouths(beware the red peppers unless you enjoy a 4-alarm fire if you chew on one) Lunch portions, but still had left overs for that 10pm snack. Triple Delight — Chicken/pork and shrimp tender and perfectly cooked. Veggies crisp and flavorful and the sauce the perfect compliment to all. Price: 4 Stars Lunch menu, I am sure portions were smaller and less expensive. After 20% tip we paid less than $ 35. For appetizer, soup and entrée’s… that’s one for the WIN column. Next time I am passing through Lenox during lunch/dinner, I will be sure to stop back in to try something else off the menu.

We had a very enjoyable lunch — I had the ginger pork which was spiced nicely and had a good selection of vegetables. The Won Ton soup was excellent. Service was a little slow but not bad.

Panda house has excellent food in a mediocre atmosphere. The whole place is clean but can use a once over. Still, if you are looking for very good authentic Chinese food at fair prices, this is a very good choice. We eat here a couple of times per month and always enjoy the food. Their lunch specials are especially worth a stop. On our most recent visit we had ginger chicken and string beans, and Szechuan beef. The vegetables, as always, were fresh and crisp. Seasoning was very good, although the beef could have been spicier, and the meats were excellent. The lunch comes with soup and steamed or brown rice. The corn egg drop is especially flavorful. The entire bill with tea was $ 16.90 for both meals. We’ve had a variety of appetizers, all good and at each stop we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Service is friendly but a bit slow. With a little more care put into the atmosphere(in and out) this is easily a 4 star place.

I’ve done take-out here 3 times, and I really like it. I’ve liked the wonton soup, the sauteed string beans, the tangerine chicken, the sesame chicken, the spring roll, etc. The interior décor is stuck in the 60s, but what can you do. The service is pleasant, efficient, and fast!

I am always worried when my grandparents take me out to dinner. That being said, I would go to this place again. Their Sesame Chicken and Crab Rangoons were awesome. The Beef Lo Mein was weirdly slimy and not-so-delicious as New York greasy fried lo mein in a takeout box. Spring rolls were decent, and the wonton soup was pretty awesome. Service here is AMAZING. Major props to the waitstaff for dealing with the annoying way my grandmother insisted on ordering as though no one spoke English, even though everyone at Panda House absolutely does.

As a tyke, I spent summer weekends in Lenox visiting my grandparents. As jews from long island who winter in Boca, my grandparents know Chinese food. Each time I visited we made a trip to Panda House and as a result I had fond memories of the restaurant. My recent visit sparked new flame to the smoldering embers of my distant memories. We wanted chicken with broccoli in spicy garlic sauce — no problem! –that request isn’t so easy in Manhattan. Whether returning to Lenox or not — I hope to be heading north in the near future because you can bet your ass I’ll be making a pit stop at Panda House. –the spring roll is a must.

So we checked reviews and this restaurant did not have any but Luau Hale did and said that it was better than ok but not amazing, so we tried that place first. Pulled into the parking lot and was petrified at a restaurant that had NO windows and a pile of biker guys standing out front smoking. We left right away and went back towards Pittsfield/Pittsfield Ave area, spotted Panda House with its packed parking lot, clean appearance, and numerous windows. We pulled into the parking lot and person after person kept running in for takeout in the rain, we figured this place must have good food with so many people willing to come out in freezing rain for takeout. We went inside and were relieved to see a very clean appearing restaurant and a hostess which sat us immediately. The entire night we had one guy devoted to filling up water glasses, two waiters and even the hostess who also appeared to be a manager or owner visited our table numerous times to ask how the meal was or if we needed simple things like duck sauce or drink refills. The food was delicious! I got the vegetarian delight which has 3 different veg meals– all delicious! My wife got the vegetarian general tso’s(yes they actually have two dishes made from wheat gluten– completely veg that taste just like general tso’s chicken and sesame chicken) — she absolutely loved it! We had a gin and tonic and a vodka martini, both were perfect along with exquisite chinese black tea. All in all the experience was beyond delightful and we were thrilled with having picked this place over the other dark desolate creeepy place. P. S.- I have shellfish allergy and let them know, they were completely accommodating! :-D Also, they have hot oil they will gladly bring you if you want to spice up the dish! Happy dining!

Had dinner here while visiting my mother. Much better than the usual American-Chinese dishes with heavy brown gravy like sauce. Plenty of flavorful dishes to choose from. My mother had the Prawn Amazing and I had the Tangerine Chicken and both were delicious. We had edamame and bone-in spareribs first. The spareribs were disappointing — not much flavor. Unlike another reviewer, I thought the portions were generous.
