U-Haul Moving & Storage of Leominster

I went to this Uhaul location during one of the busiest weeks of the year (college move in week). I didn’t have a prior reservation and I needed to rent a 15′-17′ truck for 2 days.
When I got there the line was out the door and after 20 minutes of waiting I was helped by Brad Harasimowicz. I informed him of my situation and sadly there were no trucks available for 2 days, the only available options were for a matter of hours.
Brad kindly accommodated us with a truck and a storage unit to hold my stuff for the 2 days without a Uhaul truck. He also swapped out the truck that was originally given to us for one that was newer/​nicer. It was overall great service given I was in a very last minute sticky situation.

My husband needed a floor or outdoor unit for a very large, heavy item. He spoke with the manager on the phone beforehand to ensure that they had the type of unit he was looking for. The manger said they did and we went right down. After filling out all of the paperwork we find out its a 2^nd floor unit. They do not have an elevator and my husband didn’t think he’d be able to get the item up the stairs. We had just canceled our unit when another gentleman (another manager I believe) said that he’d get a dolly and help get the item upstairs. I then filled out more paperwork to open another unit. An hour later they still couldn’t get the item up the stairs. I felt terrible, because it was after hours now and the men working there were very accommodating. We ended up leaving and coming back the next day to cancel the unit again. The lady I dealt with for the refund was not very pleasant to say the least. Overall our experience there was not good. As I said before, the gentlemen we worked with the first day were very accommodating, but there definitely needs to be better communication on which units are actually available.

When I entered the business office /​store I was greeted poorly. Instead of «how can I help you .» I got «what do you need,» with an atitude. The female that greeted me was new and did not know how to set me up with my storage so I didn’t think anything of her atitude since she was obviously «new» however her coworker male he might also have been a manager it seemed based on his shirt and experience. He was worse. The female coworker asked him if he was okay and he said he wasn’t feeling well however if thats the case he should’ve stayed home. He had no patience when I wanted to read the contract and was asking questions about returning the rental and accessing the storage after hours. Then when he showed me my unit I told him repeatedly that I thought the unit was too small instead of selling me a bigger unit he said it will and rushed me out. When I asked him to show me how to use the garage door that was also met with an atitude .
I def would not recommend this location to anyone ever. Thankfully my stuff did fit but things are stacked pack inside and I would’ve rathered a bigger unit but did not want to deal with anymore rude customer service. The positives are they have indoor units so you can have climate controlled storage. Also since I had rented a truck I got my first month of storage free.

Adam the manager is rude and completely incompetent, just as his staff. Shouldn’t manage a business when you not know what you are doing!!! They should close this place down, making to many mistakes and they are the ones being rude while they are the ones messing things up. Not even getting a apology for all the hassle they gave us. Careless, not my money, not my problem, whatever attitude…

I had the worst experience dealing with Adam who I found out was the general manager of this location. customer service 101 this guy is lacking with any type of human relations! Raised his voice when I told him I did not reserve a cargo van and he told me to stop with the attitude. Charged me extra to upgrade with into something I clearly explained to the reservations dept that I needed. I have been in the rental industry previously for 18 years and would have fired this jerk long ago. This business is an embarrassment to our community and I am making it my mission to see that we get rid of this tumor!

After using Penske for the last two rental trucks we tried to get a vehicle from them, but they were booked, so we went with a small town uhaul location in Leominster. Large mistake. I have not left reviews before but after this experience I feel it is necessary for others to know what to expect. If you can avoid this location I would– unfriendly, patronizing, and zero help. Drop box was not available for keys to be left out after hours. Woof!
