On my first visit two days ago, I waited a bit over an hour which was not unexpected at all. But then during processing I was notified I needed a special form completed by my doctor in order to get my replacement ID. The lady told me to bring back my ticket and I could then move to the front of the line since I already wasted valuable time and gas. Then today the gentleman at station #4 informs me the ticket was only good for that day! How can they expect us to get a doctor’s note on the other side of town and get back in one day? Please improve on this!

wait time was not very long I love the new option of being able to save a spot online so you don’t have to wait forever the people there were so helpful and courteous I definitely recommend coming here instead of the others thank you you for the great experience!

This is such an awesome place, I love the online feature! You can put in your phone number and get texts when it’s your turn. I walked through the door and it was my turn didn’t even have time to sit down and wait!!! I just left the social security office and walked out because it was crowded and slow! Aimee made my experience so wonderful!!!

This place is great in and out in less than 30 mins! The guy who helped me was
cool and chatted a bit cuz hes from my homestate he also let me take my dl photo twice. Great experience!

A positive experience at the DMV.
We just moved here a month ago. So we had to get our TX License. I ran across some reviews on this place. We decided that we would come to this location instead of the one near our house. I’m glad we did.
I checked in online, but my husband didn’t believe it was that easy, so we headed that way even though my check in told me would have an hour wait.
It was that easy. We were an hour early even though we didn’t have to be.
We were greeted at the door by a smiling person! We sat down to wait our turn.
Finally, it was our turn and we were greeted by yet another smiling person. We had great conversation while she took care of both of us.
Definetly check this place out next time you have to visit the dreaded DMV.

Who reviews a DMV on Unilocal?This guy… and 39 other people. This place has come a loooong way in a few years. There’s a helpful overhead voice that tracks your progress in line, plenty of places to sit while you wait and tables with stationary to fill out the paperwork. Helpful employees greet you and the electronic kiosks to make sure you’re doing it right. The DMV specialists who process the procedures are generally patient and friendly. The building is also air conditioned very well and kept very clean in spite of the hundreds of people who come through every day. Hand sanitizer, trash cans, ample lighting… these things you’d expect at a government building, right? But I’ve been in far worse locations for this purpose. Regardless, if you have to get any of the paperwork or actions accomplished here, know that it’ll at least be a decent visit at this location.

They greet you and assist you right the second you walk in and is super fast. Went there to replace my lost drivers license and was out in about 10 min max!

Efficient. Clean. Fast. No surly agents. You walk in and are assisted immediately by a uniformed employee. Very easy. Much improved over my last visit to DPS 13 years ago.

I used to dread going to the DMV because it was such a long boring process. Not here! The new ability to check in online makes everything soooooooo easy! The workers were all very nice! We were in and out in less than 15 mins! They are on to something with the web check in!

Horrible experiences here. It seems cool because you can check in electronically, but they have found a reason to not issue me a new license (following a relocation) three times. They are unreasonable and need to chill out. I’ve never had to produce this much documentation in my life for anything.

The DMV is never a fun experience but Texas has made it as easy and streamlined as possible for drivers to get their IDs and whatever else people get at these offices. I was very impressed with this place.
The first thing that stands out is the large amount of employees who are willing to help. There were two employees just standing at the front door to greet customers and point them in the right direction. They even did the self-​service kiosk work for me! They made it so easy and painless when most states seem to put their customers through the complete opposite situation. After getting a number, I was instantly called back and walked through the process of transferring my ID to this state. I was fully expecting to be yelled at or sassed as that is normally what happens at government agencies when they feel you are in the wrong. This location and its employees actually walked me through the process and helped me find the document that it appeared I was missing. They even let me go outside and download it onto my phone without having to go back and wait in line. It was very pleasant.
Overall, this is what a DMV experience should be. The only thing missing was snacks and a back rub during my meeting. I look forward to receiving my new license in the mail.

I have been to quite a few DMV in multiple states. This is the cleanest and most organized one I’ve been to. I’m very impressed. The size of the building is huge, which allows people to scatter and not be cooped up in one room. There is no avoiding long wait times at the DMV, but at least this location allows you to see the estimated wait time. They even text your phone and allow you to get text message updates. If you want to leave the premises you can! You can request status updates via text while you go run errands and you can request more time (if you’re caught up in traffic or something). Will come back here for more transactions!

This is the best place to get your DL. Extremely well organized and professional staff makes everything run smoothly. Would strongly recommend that you make an appointment.

Now that was the fastest I’ve ever experienced with going to replace my driver’s license! Holy cow… the customer service here was supreme… walked in and immediately was asked what I needed and walked me through everything. This was like a concierge service. Hardly sat 1 minute before I was called to my window… literally 10 minutes when I walked in, got addressed, sat down, took my picture and left. If only every experience was this tailored!

Yes I’m giving a DMV 5 star and no I’m not out of my mind. This is THE best DMV I’ve ever been!
I never thought I’d like any DMV but this particular location really changed my mind. The customer is indeed God here. I have been twice to get my driver’s license renewed and had positive experience on both occasions.
The first time was around the holidays so there were lots of ppl. I did have to wait quite a bit but the whole waiting process was very streamlined. In fact this whole place was very organized and the staff was super friendly. The second time was even better. My number was called on when I hadn’t even finished filling out my form yet. So I missed it but the staff added my number right back when I told her I just missed it. The lady who renewed my license was awesome. She had a big smile on her face and she called me dear the whole time. I deff felt like one. And I got my license renewed in no time.
It only took me less than 30 minutes to walk out the door. I almost couldn’t believe it! Wish all the DMVs could be like this place!

I am hesitant to write this review because I don’t really want to share this place.
No one, seriously no one, ever wants to go to the DMV. Long lines, rude employees, it is a never ending torture. That’s what I expected to encounter when I needed to get a new drivers licence. I dreaded it. I stalled. I made up excuses to not go.
Then a friend told me to check out this place. They guaranteed that I could get in and out in my lunch hour. They told me that I could call, or go online, and put my name on the list and then I’d get a text when it’s my turn. I didn’t believe them, not one bit, but decided to give it a try.
I went online and sogned in and hopped in my car to make the 10 min drive over there. I figured I would have plenty of time. I was wrong. I got a text when I was still on the road that I was coming up next. I didn’t even get to the building before my time had expired. I figured I was screwed now that I had missed my spot. Once I got to the parking lot I got to re-​check in. Another 10 minute wait and I got the notification that I was coming up. I walked in, they called my number, I got my new licence and was on my way back to work with tome to actually grab lunch.
Why don’t they all operate this way? I’ll never go to another one again. It’s worth the trip!

And you thought I couldn’t make a sentence out of DMV, welcoming and strip bar.
I had to get my TX license here (there were few tears parting with my CA license) and I fully expected the «great», «warm» and «wonderful» experience I had at other DMV. What I didn’t expect is I actually had a great, warm and wonderful experience.
As soon as I walked into the door, someone asked me how can they can help me, she got my tickets for me from those automated machines. I sat down, pulled out my phone and getting ready to camp out for my turn, as soon as I started my game, I heard my number called. I went to the station and told her my purpose, give her all my docs and in 10 mins, she took my picture, showed it to me, even said it was a great pic (I agree), I paid $ 25 and I was out of the door. I spend more than 30 mins driving here and I was out of the door in 20 mins. That’s crazy.
I would give this DMV office a 6 stars if I could. Nope, hell didn’t freeze over.

Seriously, one of the weirdest experiences of my life. I actually had a good time at the DPS and only spent a total of 21 minutes here to get my driver’s license renewed. This was by far, the BEST DPS location in San Antonio. Not only can you «check in» via phone BEFORE you get there, but they have a computerized system now that helps you avoid those annoying and time-​consuming long lines. Hallelujah!
They had plenty of seating available and 20 stations open to serve customers. Everything is done right at the station and you are offered privacy as they have screens up to prevent others from seeing you take the most hideous picture you’ll take in your lifetime, period. (Or is that just me?). I was also very pleased that they now accept credit cards for Driver’s License renewal payments instead of having to get a money order or bring cash.
The employees were extremely helpful and polite and the entire place was clean, organized, well-​stocked with easily stolen pens and you could view your status in line by the large televisions mounted on the walls.
Take note, all other DPS offices in the world, THIS is how you do it.
WILL be back.

Holy cow. (Yes I just said that.) anyway moving on. This is the nicest, biggest, cleanest, friendliest most organized DMV I have ever been to in all the states I have been to.
