Great food! I’ve been here a few times over the years(under other names). The Celtic Knot is by far the best. The Scotch Eggs are a must have!

I like the Pizza… A lot. And since I’m a local and its the only restaurant in town I like that the menu isn’t exclusively Irish. Also the bread bowls the soup comes in are pretty legit. The owner seems very engaged in the business and greets people. Service is typically good unless they are jam packed. Also have a decent beer selection when you want to try something new.

We hosted our daughters baby shower in the upstairs area. The owners were fantastic to work with. The food was really good, the service from the staff was great, and the baby shower was quite a success as a result. Definitely will plan future events there.

My husband and I did a trip down memory lane a couple of nights ago(he grew up in the area). After a winding road we bumped into the lake and he told me about the log cabin that used to be there. Lo and behold it’s actually still there, just renamed and redecorated into The Celtic Knot. We only stopped in for a quick drink and some snacks, but this place is really cute. We sat at the bar so I can’t really comment on service other than that the girl tending the bar was friendly and fun to talk to. We got some snacks, the Scotch eggs and some Reuben eggroll special. The Scotch eggs were a little dry(insert sad face), these are notoriously hard to nail so in all fairness I could have known it to be a possibility. Other than that the sausage was nicely spiced. The Reuben egg rolls were a fun idea, Swiss cheese, saurkraut and corned beef in a wonton wrapper and they were pretty good! I like the décor, it’s very cute, woodsy and cabin like. It’s a little far for us, but if I were in the area again I’d return to try some other things.

Excellent food!!! Gone three times and everything was impressive. The service is always pleasant. They have good chef. The restaurant itself is interesting too and we love the porch. Will be coming back for sure. One of the better Irish selections. Many other Irish pubs barely have half of these options on their menu. Yum yum!

Cool local joint. Been quite a few concepts, some good, some no so good, going back to at least 1989 when I moved to the area. Friendly(but not the most polished) staff but no worries, food and drinks come eventually and most items are pretty good. French Onion soup, not too salty like many places, comes in a small cast iron crock that keeps it warm till the end. Sandwiches are competently executed, pizza passable. Never had an «entrée» so can’t comment on those. Overall a great place for locals like us but we don’t bite strangers who visit, too.

I finally tried this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the service and great food. I love sitting on the deck outside and looking across the street at the lake. The fried apples for desert were great too.

Rain kept me inside on this visit. Great décor. Shared some French onion soup, chicken dumpling soup and a Shepard pie. Everything was very good, especially the Shepard pie. Added 2 ice tea. Bill came to $ 22. Server was really good also.

Great atmosphere and great food! Had the«Nessie’s Feast» dish which includes perch, shrimp, and clam strips — delicious! Had a table on the deck overlooking the lake which is a great view. Wait staff friendly, prices good!

The fish & chips are good, but the shepards pie and beef tips are made with the same bolognase sauce and it was terrible

Scottish Eggs were very good. The beef tips on rice were supposed to be tenderloin tips according to the menu. If they were tenderloin tips they were a very poor grade of tenderloins. Sauce was supposed to be Cajun, according to the menu, but it was extremely bland. Onions and peppers came with the meal, but I got about 3 pieces of onions and tons of peppers. The evening I was there found only 2 servers an a bartender. The servers were trying their best, and the restaurant was not busy, but service was s l o w. Servers were trying to serve the two downstairs rooms plus the upper, outside deck. The lettuce salads I saw being served looked fresh. I will give it one more try and then decide if I continue.

Just got back from our first visit to the Celtic Knot. The food is very good. The scotch eggs alone are worth going for. Absolutely delicious. The shepherds pie could have been done better and a little larger portion with a little less cheese and more meat would have done it up perfect. The sliders with corned beef were deemed delicious. The other two of us had burgers, One was seared with Irish beer and one with Irish Whiskey. Both of us loved the burgers. The onion rings were terrific fresh and freshly fried, no old grease taste. The sweet potato fries were delicious the regular fries were just that. The black and tan wasn’t as good as Sullivans in Oxford, But the Irish whiskey was deemed wonderful as was the bottle beer had by one of us. I would like to see more Irish foods, Lamb, Heavy Irish cheeses. An all Irish plate offering of Irish Sausage and Cheese would be wonderful. The colcannon was delicious. We met the Chef, the son of the Owner. He is very good and adventuresome so I expect the menu will grow. This building was the old Lakeville Inn. It has been redone beautifully. The tables and chairs are lovely, Its bright, clean, and very welcoming. Our waitress Melissa was very good. All in all a great evening. Will be back for the scotch eggs alone! I am expecting even greater things from the Celtic Knot as it is open longer. They have a lovely outside deck to eat or drink on with great views of Lakeville lake and the surrounding area.

Aside from the fact we think they mistakenly hit our credit card twice(will call tomorrow to straighten that out), decent place. Friendly, clean, nice, massive improvement over the nasty owner of the Lakeville Inn. Good bar food but VERY disappointed there were so few Irish/Scottish menu offerings. How about Irish cheeses served in fruit & cheese platter, hearty Irish stew with a side of brown bread or even corned beef & cabbage?

The atmosphere gets 5 stars-very inviting and clean. Amish made furniture, fireplaces, and cool bar area make this place somewhere I would love to go more often. However the food is mediocre. The veggie they offer is a steamed mixed veggie that’s mush-they absolutely have to do better in the food department for people to want to continue to come for more than just atmosphere and drinks.

Maybe 2 items are irish, mostly bar food Pizza, the shepherd’s pie was in a mug. The fries were undercooked, the loaded fries were not very good. Would not go back will stick with the oxford tap for irish food, or Sullivan’s. Best shepherds pie, was from Rochester mills Brewery. Has kinda romantic feel with the fireplace, looks like an updated Lakeville Inn with fancy names for mediocre food.

The Celtic Knot, formerly The Lakeville Inn; although, different owners and management. We tried twice to get into this restaurant, but it was so busy and packed that we went else where. I’m sure that, it being newly opened contributed to it being busy. Recently, however, we did get it(early in the day). The restaurant is nice. Somewhat the same lay out, but cleaner and updated. That being said, the food — the food is bar food. I guess I was expecting, from the name of the restaurant, more Irish, Scottish items. Really, what they didI got invited to be in the national society of collegiate scholars, is name your typical bar foods, Celtic names. That didn’t quite get it for me. Don’t get me wrong, the food is fine, just not Irish/Scottish foods. I’ll go back, but now I know, it’s just fancy named bar food.

Just opened beginning of January. Good food and great service. Very attentive, though the waitress did charge someone else’s order on our bill, but taken care of immediately. Shepherd’s(sheep) Pie is traditionally lamb, not ground beef. It was wonderful, but pies made with beef or any other leftover meat or roasts are called Cottage Pie. Soup good too. Scotch Eggs also very good, but consider it an appetizer, not an entrée. Macaroni with Irish Cheddar was very good. Great hard cider too. I’ll be back!
