There were 14 of us and we had lunch. Given the place looks run down I wasn’t expecting much more than typical bar food. I am happy to report that we were all blown away by both the food and the speed of service. I had the tuna steak sandwich, fantastic! Everyone’s food well exceeded their expectations. We will definitely be coming back.

We ate on a quiet Thursday afternoon, but found the food fresh, hot and satisfying. Good service and reasonably priced. I would have no hesitation in returning!

I was here with my nana, poppy, and their dog after arriving from the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. She was allowed on the outside deck area and was brought some cold water. For an appetizer we shared the thai-style calamari. It was cooked perfect and was not rubbery at all. I’m not a fan of seafood at all, but this was an exception. For lunch, I had a bbq chicken Cobb salad with avocado ranch — so great! My nana had the muscles with white wine sauce, and my poppy had the crab cake platter. Their dog had a kids cheeseburger with fries and she devoured it. Overall, if I were in Lewes again, I would definitely return and recommend The Wharf to anybody there. :)

Come for the outdoor eating/setting, stay for the appetizers(and some of the other food, too.) Inside, the Wharf really doesn’t strike you as much to look at. Then, you’re walked out onto the sprawling deck on the water and you realize«oh, this is going to be ok.» A large part of 7, we were seated at one of the big table on the edge of the deck. For appetizers, we shared: –Thai Style Calamari –Blackened Tuna Bites –Philly Cheesesteak Egrolls. The Thai Style Calamari and Blackened Tuna Bites were both great — probably the best things I had the whole night. The calamari was crisp and packed with a ton of flavor from the sweet/spicy Thai sauce. The bits of jalapeño were a nice spicy touch, too. The tuna bites were smoky and had a great texture. They were chunks of tuna coated in a spice mix and then seared. What might be considered just a garnish or throwaway, the seaweed salad beneath the tuna bites was great, too. For my entrée, I chose the Tuna from the fish board. I opted for it to be seared, my two sauces were ‘pan asian’ and ‘pineapple mango salsa’, and my two sides: side salad and vegetable du jour(grilled asparagus.) Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by the fish itself. Both sauces were decent and worked well with the fish. My «side» salad was huge and came in it’s own bowl, out to the table with the appetizers. The grilled asparagus looked a little sad, but were actually really good. Everyone else enjoyed their meals — but the real standout was the huge, bursting House Steampot, which seemed to never end with it’s bountiful seafood. Service was extremely friendly and casual.

This food is terrible. Never eat here. Bun is as hard as a hockey puck. The only star it deserves our waitress was good. If you order something rare get ready it will be «well» as leather.

Arrived to a very light crowd despite a beautiful setting and view on the canal in Lewes. Any concerns were quickly dismissed with attentive service and really good appetizers and meals. The bruschetta was da’ bomb and 6 of us couldn’t finish it. Shrimp tacos were amazing too. This place maybe just needs to market better?

My wife & I shared a Fisherman’s Platter(shrimp, flounder, crab cake, fish cake, fries, cole slaw) which was an ample meal. Each item was an excellent example of each seafood on the platter. Fries and cole slaw were delicious.. The server was attentive and efficient. We stopped after taking the ferry from Cape May, NJ to Lewes. The restaurant was a good memory from our July, 2015 vacation.

3 of us had the crab pot and a couple appetizers. The oysters were fresh — the crab pot terrific. A worthwhile stop!

Good family atmosphere after a long day at the beach! The service was excellent, the seafood was good & the atmosphere on the fishing pier was lots of fun. Highly recommend outside dining on the deck in the evening. The view of the sunset & the fishing boats coming in was the perfect end to our day at the shore.

We are regular patrons at the wharf. We have noticed that the Friday night crowd is considerably less this summer. We really miss the Friday night band from the summer of 2014. I believe they were called the wise guys. The Friday night band playing this year is not any comparison to them. They rocked and so did everyone who came to see them. You should consider having them back.

Wait staff very attentive, food prep and service surprisingly speedy, and flavor — yummy! Crab bruschetta is huge and very good — ordered as a shared appetizer for two, could have easily been shared by 4 – 6 hungry diners! Crab cake sandwich platter and Mahi-Mahi entrée(side salad & rice pilaf) scrumptious! Seating/view & ambience pleasant and relaxing, good value for $. I’ll go back again!

I arrived on Saturday afternoon with my black Lab to sit on the dog friendly deck. As soon as I arrived, a man who was sitting at a table on the deck yelled to me «My dog is aggressive.» Hmmmm, ok well at least I knew not to take my friendly dog over there to sniff or visit. Never mind that a) why is someone bringing an aggressive dog to a dog friendly establishment and b) why is the establishment allowing an admittedly aggressive dog on their deck? At one point, I decided to take my dog down to the dock for a swim. As we exited the deck via the steps to the parking lot(by the way, patrons with dogs are instructed to enter and exit using those steps), the aggressive dog broke it’s leash, squeezed through the deck railing and attacked my dog. As if that weren’t enough of a nightmare, the«gentleman» that owned the dog started screaming at me «You dumb a** bi***, I warned you». The restaurant staff arrived on the scene, asked what happened, and when I told them, they asked me to not make a big deal of it. I told them I wanted that man to leave with his dog and they said«He’s eating his dinner». Suffice it to say, I left immediately and will never spend a penny of my money at that poorly managed establishment.

Good food, very quick service-came at lunch time though … The house salad was VERY impressive. Garden greens, bacon, quality blue cheese crumbles and a great vinaigrette. My chicken sandwich was also delicious. Old bay fries were good! No complaints!

Discovered because we were hungry and won’t go on a fisherman’s wharf without food while in a 3 hour dolphin watch cruise. Surprised that even though the prices were a bit high because of being the restaurant is near the water, that the sandwiches were really good! I ordered the veggie grilled cheese sandwich($ 12) in a big toasty white loaf bread. It has chucky portabello mushroom, aroma green pepper, spinach with green pesto spread, mozzarella, and smoky gouda. The other sandwich was the fish sandwich($ 12). I liked it because it tastes fresh and not bready. All sandwiches come with fresh fries. We also had cheesy pepper steak in egg rolls($ 11). Well-done!

The prime rib sandwich was flavorless. The meat was overcooked and tough. One other thing. Gristle. Ugh. Could not eat. Fries were good though.

This is a nice place. Great food! I ordered the fish & chips. The cod was one of the best I ever had. It was really fresh and hot. We sat right by the water so we could watch the sunset. The waiters were really nice. The prices on the menu were pretty decent too. I paid about $ 18 for my meal, but you can find items ranging from $ 8-$ 30. I went with two other people and we had a bill total of $ 67, so you can’t bet that for good food.

Being in Lewes, Delaware and having heard good words about their crab bruschetta, I decided to give The Wharf Restaurant a try. It occupies a rather nice location right smack on a waterway canal with both indoor and outdoor patio seating. Though the canal is small it has a lot of amusing fun to watch marine traffic along with an offering of pleasant enough views. I ordered a margarita and the crab bruschetta. The margarita wasn’t the best, sort of a mix of commercial ingredients which were totally unembellished, dolled up or tricked out. The only thing I can say about the crab bruschetta was that it came in a surprising large portion but merely OK in flavor. The coating sauce overwhelmed the taste of everything else except maybe for the onion or tomato, most certainly rendering any delicate crab flavors tasteless or absent. My friends had the mussels with gorgonzola, basil and marinara which was tasty enough but nothing exceptional or out of the ordinary. Best I can say for The Wharf is passable, OK, but food wise not worthy of going out of your way for.

I have come to this restaurant under many different owners for years and years. The Wharf decided that if you bring your dog to the outside deck you must sit with the smokers. I was not allowed to sit with my friends outside because i had my lap dog with me. Drinks are expensive, food overpriced. When I did order a beer it took 20 minutes and I never got the water I ordered. This place has one thing going for it —location. Another restaurant down the street has equally nice view and way better service and food.
