In Lexington many places are too expensive for blue collar people and the food isn’t that great. Alexander’s is a hidden gem in Lexington; the prices are reasonable for this town and the food is good. The pizza is great when you eat it fresh but I personally like the salads the most, especially the Greek salads. It comes in this huge box with a lot of feta and it leaves you stuffed. Also, it comes with a piece of pita bread which I absolutely love love love. The fries are great, especially with the cheeseburger club. Lately when I order it though the bread doesn’t come toasted but I’ll ignore it for this place. Also it’s super convenient for me to walk down to or on my way home from work and it fits my broke student budget.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here after visiting the Hanscom Air Force Base. We were both starving & came across this place. We both got a steak and cheese sub & split a order of fries. It was honestly the best steak and cheese sub we both have ever had. It the perfect amount of seasonings on the steak & the cheese was perfect. The fries are to die for! After we had sat down it started getting busy & a lot of people were getting pizza which looked delicious! The service was great. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Next time we’re in the area we are definitely stopping by!

This is one of the best pizza shops North of Boston! It is a local treasure and a best kept secret as most customers travel from 3 – 5 cities over. Located right off i95, you could order and pick up but I would recommend taking a break off your commute and enjoying a slice fresh out the oven. The guys running the joint always keep a positive vibe and are quick to crack a joke. Their pizza is a cross between New York and Chicago style with a crisp thin crust and a soft fluffy dough pie like center. The cheese is stretchy and decadent and won’t slide off the slice like other gimmicky pizza shops. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza is top notch with the optional added topping of fresh blue cheese. There are other great picks such as the Steak tip dinner but you will definitely go out of your way for the delicious Pizza!

The food here is your typical East Coast American style pizza restaurant. Very consistent as I’ve eaten here a lot over the past 6 months. Pizzas very good steak and cheese is are fair. I have the biggest crush on Stephanie the girl at the counter. She’s nice. All in all my experience here makes it worth a try

Owner is completely unprofessional and rude. I ordered delivery and when it arrived, it was incorrect.(I ordered two pizzas and a pizza and sub were delivered.) When my driver called the restaurant to sort out the issue, I was handed the phone and the owner was on the line. He offered to take back the sub, make a large pizza in its place and have it delivered, and charge the credit card the difference. I told him I appreciated the offer, but didn’t think I should be charged for the inconvenience. His response was: «Listen Buddy, I’ve been doing this a long time and you ordered incorrectly.» Not okay; if I wanted to be told I’m doing something incorrectly, I’ll call my mom. All set with this place.

‘cmon folks, this a typical eastern Mass. Sub and Pizza joint. No more, no less. They are all pretty«average». I’ve lived in Lexington since 1989 and been here dozens and dozens of time. It always comes out about the same, no matter what is ordered. This isn’t gourmet food, nor should you expect first class service. Whether I order on line, by phone or in person, I always get what I wanted. The«not even close» comment is incredulous. Maybe the author should think about how well he or she communicates also. People make mistakes, and they don’t hire rocket scientists. They only started with delivery service a couple years ago. Unlikely they can hang onto drivers. Just go get it yourself. I’m not an apologist for them, and they are not a «favorite», but I know I can go just about anywhere in the metro area and get the same thing, good or bad. Most of the shops are owned by Greeks, so that explains some of it. Agree with the minimal seating at a counter, and it’s not at all comfortable in the winter as the cold wind blows right onto the counter. The owner is a big classic car buff and he’ll do one or two drive-ins per year with a dozen pretty cool looking cars. Lunch time is big with the trades and police. I go there, I don’t expect a lot. But it’s damned cheaper than most of the restaurant$$ in Lexington, and there are not a lot of choices for something fast.

Rude delivery guy driving a white Toyota RAV4 old SuV. The guy didn’t even have a GPS and he called and was getting angry because he couldn’t find the place. Very rude person. Food order was wrong. Horrible service

This is hands down the best pizza in the area HOWEVER once again the service disappoints. We are so close to not ordering here ever again which would be a shame because the food is so good. We ordered 2 pizzas at 415 today hoping to have them within the hour since we live so close by. We stated that we lived in bedford but right off hartwell and asked if that was an issue, they said no. At 525 someone calls lost, says oh no we read the address wrong, and she was am hour way on the arlington side of lexington. Now we have half an hour before going out trick or treating to scramble 8 eggs for 5 people. Yum hope we don’t starve. Thanks for nothing alexanders, I hope I get a manager follow up call for the huge inconvenience.

By far the best steak tip dinner I’ve had at any Greek pizza shop. Instead of putting the salad inside with the steak and fries, they put it in it’s own container. That pretty much doubled the size of the steak and fries compared to any other I’ve had. The steak was medium rare, cooked to order and the fries were big and crispy. The dressing was supurb too, which sometimes makes a breaks a meal like this. Excellent dinner!

I’m not a fan of Greek pizza. Most times it’s too greasy and almost has a sour taste to it. This place is no exception. Pizza sitting under a rotating heat lamp is a sure sign that your taste buds are not about to be treated to party in your mouth. I once ordered the baked ziti and a salad. Ziti had no ricotta or mozerella cheese, no meat sauce, just noodles and marinara sauce. The salad was iceberg lettuce and unripe tomatoes cut too large. With all the choices in a five mile radius this is not a repeat for me.

Alexander’s is pretty well known around Lexington. Seems like they’ve been around for quite some time. For a Greek pizza place I’d say they’re about average. If you like greasy pizza, I know some do, you’ll like Alexander’s. Good flavor, just too greasy for my taste. Gyro’s are good here. I have to say I’m not as big a fan of their subs in general. Overall, I’d say they’re about average with moderate prices. 3 stars.

Best pizza in Lexington, crust is nice and crunchy. Greasy and delicious… I moved to waltham and I still hop off the highway on my way home from work occasionally to stop in. They have a counter you can sit at but it’s mostly a take out joint. Four stars for above average Greek pizza; I haven’t had any of their other food.

This place has better pizza than most in the area but I couldn’t give it a four star rating. If Unilocal allowed three and a half stars then I definitely would have given it to Alexander’s. The pepperoni pizza really hit the spot and the people who worked there were very friendly. The guy offered to reheat my pizza because I had gotten there late to pick it up.

Terrible. I called and ordered a pizza, drove over, and when I got there, they said«bad news, the oven just broke»! No call back. Just left me with a bunch of wasted gas and no food.

Couldn’t give this place a decent rating in good conscious back in 2011 due to several disappointing showings in a row, but I have to say that Alexander’s is back. I gave it a shot while in a pinch working in the area. I got a large tuna and was surprised they now serve subs with a small bag of Cape Cod potato chips and a deli pickle. The restaurant is also remodeled and very clean. It appears they have really begun to take pride in apperance again. As I remember from the past, the service is friendly and the value is good. I’m glad to consider this a go-to lunch spot again.

I moved to the NYC area from Appalachia, and from the NYC area to the Boston area. You wouldn’t think that spending only a few years in the NYC area would make me a pizza snob, but oops, it did. That said, it’s damned difficult to find decent pizza in Boston. This stuff they call pizza isn’t pizza, it’s very nice flatbread with fancy toppings. That’s NOT pizza. Pizza is a crispy crust(or a soft, bready crust) with good sauce and greasy cheese and toppings and FLAVOR, for the love of god, flavor. Alexander’s is the closest thing I’ve found to that. It’s greasy and delicious, good toppings, good crust, good price. The crust under the sauce and cheese(that is, not the exposed thing at the edge of the pie) leaves a bit to be desired, it’s kind of soft and chewy, but whatever, this is the best thing I’ve found since I moved here, I took down half of a large in one sitting(I’m not a very big person, so half a pizza is a big deal for me) and have no regrets about it. Biggest complaint is that they don’t deliver. Which doesn’t matter because they’re close enough to my commute for me to pick up a pizza … which does then matter because I commute by bike so the pizza’ll be cold by the time I get home. Whatever. So worth it. Good pizza in Massachusetts. Praise be.

I’m too embarassed to write what I really think. Once Alexander’s was at least mediocre. My last visit(take out) resulted in a trash can full of pizza. It’s a crying shame.

I just saw some reviews trickle in for Alexander’s and I gotta say, the meatball sub I had was virtually inedible. The meatballs had the consistency of a super ball — remember those balls you could buy for 25 cents when you walked into a Kmart in the 1980’s? Yeah, well, they now are being served @ Alexander’s in the lovely town of Lexington. Not a fan. The saddest part was, the guys were nice who work there, but I can’t in good conscience give a rating above one star for this«food.» The sauce was okay, but I ended up eating a few bites and then throwing the rest in the trash. Not good. :(
