Astrid Elizabeth Calligraphy

On the referral of my print shop I hired Astrid to do my Save the Dates cards for my wedding. Not only were the cards weeks behind schedual but going through them I’ve already found three misspellings. They whole ordeal has left me stressed and scrambling for a local calligrapher to correct all of her errors.
I wanted to update this Unilocal posting and let everyone know that Astrid was gracious and refunded my payment with a lot of apologies.

There’s a lot of crappy calligraphers out there who have been producing the same slanty, curly letters since they were in fifth grade. If you want your calligraphy to look like a computer font, talk to them.
If you want something modern and personal with an artistic flair, talk to Astrid! She has a wide variety of styles she can use, and she deals well with difficult paper (like our rough handmade paper invitations with giant flower petals and seeds.) You can drop off and pick up items for her at Rugg Road on Charles St, and she’ll meet you there as well, so don’t be put off by the Lancaster address.
I’ve actually asked her to do calligraphy for a couple of things around the house since the wedding. I don’t think I ever would’ve imagined hiring a calligrapher to do anything other than wedding invitations before I dealt with Astrid. She’s that good.
