Small but very nice Japanese grocery. Prices are very reasonable for a specialty store. I’ll be back for sure!

Adorable little Japanese grocery store. They sell all the things at a typical Asian grocery mart plus some. This store is pretty small, but their selection is great. It is as though they picked out small sections of a giant store and put it into this place. I was so excited to find the light and fluffy Japanese cheesecake in the freezer section. They even have green tea kit kat! Overall, this was a great find and I will definitely be returning to stock up on udon, soba, sauces and the occasional treat.

I stopped in here with some friends after the Japanese summer festival in Lexington and I’m so happy we went out of our way to check this place out! I’m a regular at a lot of local Asian markets in Louisville, and like to check out others when I’m out of town. I think this may be my favorite yet! What sets it apart is that it’s solely Japanese, which is nice because Japanese wares are pretty few and far between in other Asian markets. I stocked up on snacks, furikake, and even frozen takoyaki! They also have a nice selection of bento accessories and beauty products. The prices, in my opinion, were very reasonable– cheaper than online, even! I had to pick up some kewpie mayo while I was there, too, since it was less than 5 bucks! And if you don’t know what kewpie mayo is. Get on that! I loved this place so much that I wouldn’t be opposed to making a trip to Lexington just to stock up on more Japanese food!

Nice authentic Japanese store they have frozen sushi grade fish, snacks and plastic ware and lots of Japanese DVDs imported from Japan. It is a little expensive but the things are nice. If you are looking to get mutilcultral by telling people you know how to make sushi, then come to this place to find ingredients. They’ve got all you need!

This Japanese store is a lifesaver. From Sushi-grade tuna, Japanese pickles, to Wagu beef — they’ve got it all. Lots of great Japanese food selections in a tiny store. A lifesaver for those who love to make Japanese food!

Tiny little Japanese store right where I need it to be. The closest to my home and very close to my work. The selection is good for a store so tiny and they’re not focused on only treats, though they still have some. The owner is sweet as a peach and is very quick to help you find your way around. Don’t go if you’re looking for anything that’s not Japanese.

Great selection at great prices. From Japanese pickles to fresh frozen fish that are hard to find, Ayame has them. Delicious Mochi treats are a must for after any meal!!! Specialty cuts of Bershire pork are available as well as beef tongue sliced very thinly that go perfectly in Sukiyaki. Plus a very friendly owner that can help you with any needs. Thanks for being in our community Ayame!!!
