I would rate it no stars if I could. Myself and my family thought the food was mushy and tasteless. I got something with shrimp in it. It drives me nuts when a restaurant charges high price for shrimp dish and you get the worst quality, none of shrimp was deveined. I’d only go back for drinks on nice patio would never eat food there again not with the many wonderful options nearby.

One of my favorite places in Lexington. The new indoor/outdoor patio in the bar area is amazing rain or shine and let’s not forget the real reason we all come… the stir fry! So many options allowing you to be as healthy or unhealthy as you like… although I load up on the yum yum sauce so my bowl becomes unhealthy very quickly! Oh and you can’t go wrong with $ 2.50 domestic beer and $ 3.50 import and locals All DAYEVERDAY. Need I say more? If you haven’t been here yet make it a priority!

Here’s what happens at BD’s: you’re given an empty bowl about the size of two fists put together. You walk up to the«meat bar» and fill your bowl with whichever raw meats you like, as much as you like. There are many options such as fish, shrimp, sirloin, pork,(marinated) chicken. You can even pick noodles here. Then, if you have any room left, you head to the«vege bar» and do the same for many vegetable options.(I suggest getting an egg here as well). Lastly, you finish off your selection by creating your own combination of sauces and spices at «sauce bar». Now, carefully carry your piled-high bowl over to the cooks and they will stir fry it right in front of you. And then you’re very happy and very full. Some pricing options include unlimited trips with the bowl, and/or to the salad and soup bar. Sides, appetizers, regular menu items are also available.

So me and a good friend of mine decided to go here for lunch. I was so excited cause I had never eaten here before. When we arrived we went inside and waited to be seated… it took about 10 mins to be seated because there was no one to seat us around. After being seat we ordered drinks and 2 Brown rices.. we then went to the buffet to pick our food and have it cooked in front of us which was pretty Awesome. What was not awesome was that when we returned with our cooked food ready to eat, there was still no rice … So we continued to wait 20 mins till the waitress decided to bring us rice … Now we looked at our rice and it was white rice NOTBROWNLIKEWEASKEDFOR … ATTHISPOINTTHEWAITRESSHADDISAPPEARED, So we proceeded to eat, in the mist of eating we never got refills so I took both cups walked to a manager and got refills 3 Times !!! So overall GREATFOOD, BUT the service was TERRIBLE … I WILLGIVETHEMONEMORECHANCE …

We came a second time. Definitely you can go as healthy or as decadent as you like. We went paleo again. We followed the seasoning ideas on the wall signs. As sides we got lettuce for wraps, and briwn rice. Waitresses are always so nuce.

It was ok. The table seating was to close to each other. They offer an inexpensive Mongolian bowl/plate deal. You also get rice and tortillas for the Mongolian bowl/plate after you sit down. I wish I knew that before hand because I wouldn’t have gotten so much noddles. It’s not the best but it’s not bad if you just want to try it out, they offer a military discount as well.

My husband and I did the breakfast, don’t waste your money! We asked for over easy eggs, they were well done, the fried potatoes were so over cooked you could’t eat them, and lastly, the pancakes were still doughy in the middle. And you pay per cup of coffee! Really! Stick to a place that actually does breakfast.

Great place everyone very friendly, Cooks are very friendly and can be really impressive with cracking eggs using the knife thingies, etc. takes some experimenting with sauces to find your favorites but to be expected. We will come back.

Worst meal in a long time. The beef didn’t resemble beef, pad Thai noodles didn’t resemble pad Thai, it’s all tastes like the worst quality ingredients. One bartender Christian was great and the manager was helpful but other than that, avoid.

Awesome place to eat. Great food and people who work there are very nice. If you walk away in satisfied, you did it wrong. The remodel of the place looks nice. Wa always enjoy our meals. I would rate a 5 if there were people who recommended combinations as oppose to having to go look through menu cards.

The food was good and I liked the sauce options. My only problem would have to be the fact that we seriously got tricked into ordering an appetizer or side of rice. She just asked which one we wanted. Also it turned out to not even be that good. So it was a disappointment to see it on our bill. If you have ever been to genghis grill it feels like a rip off of that.(Exact same set up and similar font on all the signs). Also what’s the deal with tipping when you see your waitress once and are served by two others most of the meal. I would definitely go back for the food though.

This is my review on the new sports bar area they added. One of the best places to get happy hour just about any time and any day of the week. Great televisions and new large bay doors for patio season. They even have music when the patio opens. I love this bar!

bd’s is the Golden Corral of Mongolian food. If you like Golden Corral, great… you’re in for a treat. If not, find somewhere else to eat. The service was really bad on the night we went. Not malicious or rude, the poor guy was just in over his head. They may need to hire more waitstaff. The selection of food looked like it would be okay if they had been on top of keeping it stocked. Many of the selections were empty when I went through the line. The actual cooked food was also just okay. Some bites were cooked just fine and others felt undercooked in my mouth. Not a great feeling when you have a mixture of pork, chicken, and seafood. Bottom line, your money is better spent somewhere else.

The Good: the food options, multiple sauces, multiple seasonings, posted advice on what things would go well with. The Bad: the inside décor is pretty bland and the restaurant in general lacks character, probably the worst thing was seeing one of the cooks with dip in his mouth. The Rundown: though the restaurant doesn’t have much in the way or character they do make up some for the quality of the raw ingredients. Everything looks fresh and is smartly set up to make building your meal easy. This place can be a little overwhelming in the amount of options you have, shrimp, chicken, steak, calamari, and more. The veggie table has lots to offer but what held me up the most was the sauces. They have a lot of options and thankfully some little spoons to taste them. I like also how they let you know what sauce is best with what kind of protein by having print under the name. Everything was great up to this point, then while my food was being cooked I noticed the guy handling my food had dip in his mouth. You are preparing food, not working on a construction site, this is unacceptable. Furthermore this was right in front of the manager, so I know he couldn’t care less about food standards. The Impression: I really like the concept, flavors and variety, and will be back because of this, the customization and flavors are great. I just hope someone in management sees this and makes the change to their store policies it begins enforcing them because having someone prepare your food with a mouthful of tobacco juice is really gross.

I really enjoy this place for something different. I think the process of selecting your meats, veggies, spices, and sauces, then watching them be cooked is really neat. The first time my boyfriend and I went to BD’s our waiter was very helpful and patient, explaining the whole process to us. The service seems to always be great. Drinks are refilled quickly, waiters are pleasant and check on you frequently… can’t really ask for much more.

If you’re one of the few unfortunate enough to not enjoy BD’s, it could only be for one of two reasons: 1. You don’t know what you like to eat. 2. You suck at cooking and don’t realize it. I have had bad service at BD’s on occasion, but never at this particular location. That being said, I just wish I lived closer to it so it could have more chances to try to disappoint me unsuccessfully. The meat selection is awesome, especially the ribeye and seafood(shrimp, scallops, calamari, tilapia). Lots of variety on the vegetable and sauce & spice bar too. Plus they’re constantly adding new stuff just to mix it up.

The food is what you make it! If you don’t like it it’s your fault because you picked out all the ingredients. Mongolian at its best. This is a fun place with TVs and mostly decent staff although they are a little slow sometimes and awesome others.

Ok, I’m just gonna say it. If I wanted to figure out the best combination of possible entrée ingredients, I’d just do it at home, so I must not be Bd’s target demographic. Aside from the process of selecting your raw ingredients and watching the cooks fry it(maybe a little fun the first time, a pain in the butt thereafter) you’ll be entertained by screaming children and frazzled waitstaff in a restaurant so packed to the gills that it would be uncomfortable even if folks were not constantly walking around picking out food. Basically the décor is Modern Chaos. Now granted, I’m sure part of the issue is that I’m apparently a terrible cook even when not doing the actual cooking, but the ingredient quality is pretty meh too, and that has nothing to do with my flavor combo-ing limitations. It is one of the few places I can say I’ve never actually enjoyed any part of my meal, not even desssert. If you want to actually have a conversation with the people at your table, just skip it. If you do go, give those saints that wait on you a big tip. That has got to be the worst restaurant job in town.

Nice unique place to go where you can basically make your own stir fry from scratch and your own sauces. Kind of odd seeing the raw meat just lay there on their salad bar but that is the way it works. Usually a long line waiting around the big circular 500 degree grill to have their freshly piled up bowls fried and diced before their eyes. They do have beer which makes it alot better. It is good all in all.
