Definitely the best grouchos in Columbia/Lexington. A little pricey in my opinion for sandwiches/subs, etc… but they’re great! Can’t beat the sweet tea and formula 45 sauce!

I’m not sure why all the five star reviews. Food is ok, not bad, but not 4 or 5 stars… a decent quick lunch if you work by the courthouse. More or less, toss a sandwich you made at home in the microwave for 30 seconds and then add a side of ketchup and mayo mixed together(or whatever condiments are mixed up to make their side dipping sauce). Even if the food made it to a 4 or 5 star review, the parking is horrible. seriously it’s bad enough to not go at times. Will I go back again? Of course. Will I ever understand how it’s somewhere people«rave» about? Never. It’s alright or slightly above mediocre at best. I believe some of the 4 and 5 star reviews were written by staff and/or family. If you’ve been outside of Lexington, SC and to an actual city… this is nothing to think twice about.

Best sweet tea in town. The sandwiches and service are good, too. Did I mention how great the tea is?

This is restaurant is one of my favorites. The STP is awesome and I love their formula 45 sauce! Not too expensive and is easy to get in and out quickly if you have a short lunch.

Groucho’s Deli is a SC favorite. I always get an all turkey apollo and devour every last drop of my formula 45 sauce. It doesn’t matter which Groucho’s you visit the taste is always consistent. It’s always delivered fast and it’s fairly priced. I lived in Lexington for a long time and always visited that location. I now live downtown but anytime i get together with friends for lunch someone always suggests the Lexington Groucho’s. It isn’t about the location, it’s about the girls that work there. The staff has been there for years and they are always so friendly and remember you. That’s pretty difficult considering the place fills up with entire sports teams and what often appears to be a table of 8 small kids and two adults. The place can get loud but the servers always have a smile on their face. My order has never been wrong at this location, i’ve never wanted to send anything back and i’ve never had to ask for a refill even when it’s obvious they are slammed. Speaking of refills, there are only two places i will order sweet tea and Groucho’s is one of them, it’s divine! If you want the real Groucho’s Deli experience visit the one in Lexington and you won’t regret it.

My first visit to grouchos was less than stellar, and it took me a long time to go back. Tonight, I had the Mid East special, I added lettuce and tomato, and it was quite tasty. My husband had the club, he wasn’t very impressed. My sub was good, but they only come in one size, and it’s pretty small. We ordered to-go, and it wasn’t ready when we got there. Overall, I’d go back if I wasn’t very hungry… I like to eat!

Wowza! Best sandwiches in Lexington! The roast beef sandwich is my favorite! Huge delicious roll with a pile of thin sliced beef and a fantastic dipping sauce! 3 times we’ve picked up lunch to go and have never been disappointed. I cannot wait to try all of their sandwiches!

«Great food» covers it, but I’ll give some more detail. That’s not to say that it’s wrong. It is great food. My customer suggested Groucho’s as an alternative to the fast food joint that I had been frequenting. Good choice! A very quick look at the menu and my eye was drawn to the first thing on there — the Apollo Dip. Ham and turkey with melted cheese. It was heavenly. Not the largest portion, but the right size for lunch. I left full but not stuffed. As for why they call it that, I have NO idea. The sweet tea was excellent. Tip: Try to avoid the peak lunch rush. The courthouse is nearby and it can get rather busy during that time.

Loved the sign that let customers know they, «no longer accepts bills $ 100 or larger.» Or larger? Good sandwich though.
