Way too small for the size of the student body it services, plus it takes BCTC students. If no one is there it’s great though. Also the staff that patrols it always act like they are furious you came to work out today.

Having gone to a liberal arts college and the only gym I’ve ever been a member at was the YMCA, I felt really out of the loop on what modern gyms look like on my first visit here. This place is awesome, but then again it’s the home of a university obsessed with sports — what did I expect? Definitely not weight machines with QR codes, a rock climbing wall, treadmills that power the gym’s electricity and a water fountain system designed to conserve water. Health doesn’t just mean working out here, it’s clear that this rec center is designed to inspire a larger sense of what health is. Ahh, how I miss college. Even though UK is huge and this rec center is huge, in the dozen or so times I’ve gone as a guest($ 5 for a guest pass entry as long as your with someone with a membership) there’s never been a shortage of equipment. Treadmills and other cardio machines I use but don’t know what to call stretch as far as the eye can see. My only complaint is how can you have a badminton and racquetball courts indoors but no indoor tennis court? C’mon, UK step it up(if I cared about basketball I’d insert another line here, good thing I don’t :)).
