Great little store up the street from me. When I need a little something, they are open 7 days. Thanks!

Start to finish, a pleasure to work with the people at Ace, though this particular review is about«Tammy.» My blender broke and I thought I’d have to buy a whole new one – a loathsome habit of «throw-away America” – which would probably cost $ 60-$ 100. But I took the blender into Ace to see if somehow it could be fixed. Tammy looked over the damaged piece then plugged in all the useful numbers into her computer. And within 10 minutes she’d printed out a sheet for me with the name of the parts company to call and what exactly to say to them to order what I now know to be a blender drive coupling. I got home, made the call and ordered the new part – which cost $ 7 – and a day later it arrived. I removed the old one, installed the new, and just now whirred up my usual smoothie for the day. Anyone I’ve sought help from at this Lexington store, including the owner«Ken,» has been nothing but helpful and courteous. I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else. DA Arlington, MA

This may be the best local hardware store ever!!! They are always so helpful and seem truly grateful for your business. Their prices are competitive-at least for paint. And if they don’t have what I am looking for they recommend where to find it. They even had roof rakes during this awful winter. They truly deserve all five stars. I would give them six stars if I could.

I tried to return something that didn’t work. Buyer beware — there is no return policy stated on the receipt! The guy was rude and said«you used it» and wouldn’t take it back. Never again will I step foot inside this store.

Had the most unpleasant experience with this store. They completely disregard an online purchase done, for ship to store. The store folks make it a point to tell you that online orders are not their problem. They managed to loose my package for which I waited 14 days, and when I finally called customer service it magically appeared in their store. When I went to pick it up, one of the older men in there, pointed to the package, threw his hands in the air and said«take it». I understand things can get ugly with messed up orders, but for a small hardware shop to exhibit this attitude is not acceptable. I stay very close to the store, and just purchased a home, and was going to make all my purchases for home renovation from them. Not anymore.

my father has been coming here for 10 years and loves the place but today some guy asked us to leave because we asked why something was $ 7 more then it was tagged for. we were ready to pay it, still not a bad price. their prices are very typical. But now we don’t know when we can go back again. hopefully this guy won’t be working there long, but don’t want to run into that again. sad.

This is a fantastic store! I love supporting small business like this as much as possible, especially as they have to struggle to compete with big box stores. They honored a competitors coupon, offered me another coupon as a «welcome to the neighborhood» gesture and were extremely helpful. Thanks guys, I’ll be back again soon!

Disclaimer: I’m writing this review after having been at Home Depot 100 too many times in the past 3 months for home-renovation related purchases. I stopped by Lexington Ace Hardware after buying a drill earlier in the day(my first drill!) and not getting drill bits to go with it. A very nice young man, Ben, was there to help me get and figure out how to use all that I needed. This is why hardware stores exist: to kindly help those of us who are novices figure out how things work. I was very happy when I left! And the set of drill bits I bought was priced very reasonably.

This has been my little hardware store that I have been to for ages. I mean, it is so close to where I live! It is small, but you can find most items you need, although sometimes they come up short. The service there is very family-run-like. Most of them are very friendly kids who are willing to help or seek help. I was impressed that someone there took the time to help me resolve this piping issue by brainstorming and disassembling the entire apparatus and painstakingly find the right parts to fix it. I can say, I have been a fan of this little store.
