This is probably the loudest restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. I had to shout to hold a conversion with other people in my party. The sound meter on my phone registered 84 decibels — and that’s just ambient conversion! If there was music playing, I sure as hell couldn’t hear it. In my opinion the food was meh. My meatloaf was sub-par, the mashed potatoes tasted like watery instant potato flakes, and the macaroni and cheese was barely better than Kraft. My wife said her chicken strip salad was nothing special. We’ve had better food at Cracker Barrel for less $$. We will not be returning.

OHMYGAWD. Words can’t even describe the yummy euphoria this place brings. Typically when we come here, the only words out of our mouths are variations of «yummmm» while shoveling delicious fried stuff into our mouths. I’ve yet to have a healthy, normal meal here because this is my gluttonous pleasure place, so all I’ve managed to eat so far are: fried chicken(the best ever), fried porkchop(that sauce!), and the reuben(how did a southern diner manage to rival the reubens I’ve had up north?). And then there are the sides. Oh the sides! Seriously everything is incredible here. And cheap too! I’m trying to be healthier in the new year, but you better believe Ramsey’s will be my first stop when I get a craving for something deliciously unhealthy.

I’ve eaten here several times when in town and love it. If you want delicious home cooking, and lots of it, this is the place to come. Today I had their fabulous«hot brown.» There were seven of us for lunch and the service was fast and friendly, and everyone loved their food. My only regret is that I’m always too stuffed to try one of their homemade desserts.

We went today during the game. We expected a little bit of a wait and were seated immediately, so that made us happy. :) Our server was Laura. She was very sweet and got everything to us very quickly. Our food was so delicious! My burger was perfectly cooked, and my boyfriend(he got the zucchini burger) loved his as well, so we asked to speak to whomever made our meals. His name was Gareth, and he was very nice as well! He definitely know his stuff when it comes to food! Great establishment. We will definitely be back!

This particular Ramsey’s is the first place I want to eat, when in Lexington. Love the rustic, «country» location(many years ago, we used to cruise the nearby roads, when this was«way out in the country»!) Love the veggie and original Hot Browns, Mum loves her Reubens, and love the fried green tomatoes and okra, and fresh local vegetables in summer. And lawd hammercy, sweet tea! The service is usually fast, and always friendly. Certainly my favorite local source for comfort food.

We took my visiting mother in law here for her birthday and traditional some Kentucky cuisine. The food and service was excellent. We were seated right away and everyone was very friendly and accommodating to us and our toddler and newborn. We started off with the fried green tomatoes(very good), my husband, mother and mother in law all got the open face pot roast… I thought they were going to lick their plates they enjoyed it so much. I had the chicken salad which was excellent and my father in law had the meatloaf that looked really delicious too. We will definitely be back here again.

I go here often and it is always good. It can get busy but I am always seated quickly and usually at the same table, maybe they think i’m someone else. Good selection of items and pie — I never have room for pie. I get meat and 3 veggies, — different prices for lunch and dinner. I have had fried chicken, meatloaf and catfish and most of the sides: pinto beans, green beans, mac & cheese, fried green tomatoes and apple fritters and even pickled beets– if your a beet fan. The BLT salad looked good so got that last time, it is enough to share, topped with plenty of bacon and home grown tomatoes ! Yum.

Ate here for lunch today and was overall pleased. The wait time was a bit long, but the restaurant was really busy, so it’s understandable. Plus, the barbecue chicken sandwich was great, and the caramel apple pie was delicious. Overall, a nice place to eat.

After a long morning at church and visiting some friends and their newborn baby girl, neither one of us wanted to cook. Comfort food was calling, so Ramsey’s is where we ended up for lunch. My wife ordered the Traditional Breakfast and I ordered the Turkey Ruben with Mac ‘N Cheese(which by the way is considered a veggie at Ramsey’s). The breakfast looked and smelled good. My wife ordered it with bacon, pancakes and 2 eggs over medium. Everything was on par for what one might expect from a local dinner. Pretty tasty and some bites were a tad greasy. Although I’ve been here a few times, this is the first time I’ve had a chance to review it. Locals love it. I’m gonna say that this is due to nostalgia. BTW — we didn’t order dessert this time, but the pies are the best thing on the menu!

This place is great! But how can you decide between the HUMONGOUS breakfast, the hot brown, or the Cajun fried catfish? The breakfast comes with enough food for the entire table, but sadly, there is no sharing allowed. The patio is covered so that you can sit rain or shine, and it even has its own weather station. I would recommend this place for groups as well as individuals. Truly top notch.

Good stuff. Great Happy hour! The buffalo sauce is seriously the best on the planet. If you’re a buffalo chicken fan, you will always find yourself comparing to it! Delicious!

Genuine good food. Especially the fried chicken and creamed corn. Make sure you save room for pie. Worth the trip even just for a press pot of coffee and slice of pie.

Tried the breakfast and it was very good. Ramsey’s special comes with up to five eggs your choice, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pancakesMd toast. Cooked perfectly. Will be back!

This is Kentucky comfort food! I love to come since it is right down the street from where I grew up. The building is very cool and old. I remember when it was a general store. They have pictures that take me back to that time. The food is good old fashioned Ky. Never have I ordered something I did not like. Favorites are the yogurt chicken, country fried pork chops! Plus 3 generous helpings of sides.

I’m happy to update my review with a higher rating, primarily because the smell from previous visits is gone! The food is consistent, with quality being slightly better during the lunch and dinner rushes. Great local vibe and solid food that won’t blow your mind, but can be relied upon for southern comfort.

Food came out looking like something a Southern grandma would make, which is what we came for, so we were pleased. Everything tasted good! What put this place over the top, though, was the smiles we got from all the servers. Welcoming to children?! Yep, we’ll be back! Potato skins Hamburger and cole slaw Fried pork chops and greens with fried okra Chicken and dumplings with sides Apple pie, butterscotch pie, lemon cheesecake, black-bottom banana pie

Two words: comfort food. This is what Ramsay’s is all about, and this should be your expectation coming in. Come with a friend, or better yet with your family, and get some local, authentic, homemade Southern food. A signature Kentucky dish is the Hot Brown. It is originated from Louisville, KY, but luckily you don’t have to go all the way there to have a taste of it. For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, the Hot Brown is an open-faced sandwich of turkey and bacon, covered with a rich cheesy sauce. The dish came hot and the serving was ginormous! They did not skimp on the ingredients. The sandwich was very heavy and calorie-dense. I ate less than half of my sandwich and brought the rest home, which was enough for another meal. My friend who came with me got a Reuben sandwich. It was a twist on the classic Reuben. Instead of corned beef, it had turkey, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing on rye bread. The sandwich was grilled and served hot, with a pickle and some cinnamon baked apple rings on the side. I had a bite of the sandwich and it was delicious. The restaurant can get pretty busy on the weekends. We waited about 10 – 15 minutes without a reservation. Our waitress attended to us despite how busy the place was. This is a great place to taste some Southern cuisine and Kentucky specialties. However, don’t expect to find many healthy options here. it wouldn’t be a place I visit again and again. My body simply cannot handle it.

The best Rueben in town! All the food is fresh and homemade! Don’t forget to get pie, or take it home at least for later! So yummy!!!

I have been to both locations. The first visit I had a hot brown! OMG !! Crazy good. Waitstaff is totally friendly. Enjoyed the homemade Mac and cheese and pies!!! What can I say it’s definitely a must try if your in the area. Casual, homey atmosphere. Great for kids. Fried chicken is down home southern style. Go and try it for yourself. Trust me you’ll be glad you did.

You can count on Ramsey’s for good food at a reasonable price! I love the variety of their vegetable offerings and my favorite thing to order is the Veggie Plate. You get your choice of 4. I usually go with the Honey Mustard Carrots, Stewed Tomatoes, Kale, and Apple Fritters. It’s also served with two cornbread sticks so lots of food for less than $ 9. My 2nd favorite dish is the Pot Roast. Another plus is that Ramsey’s is one of the few places in Lexington open until 11pm on Sunday!
