This place is AWFUL! Clearly, it appeals to college students and sports(especially UK) fanatics, with its dizzying array of giant TV screens. It was virtually impossible to have a conversation. I ordered an Abita Purple Haze as I thought they could not possibly mess up a bottle of beer and a Caprese flatbread. It was like a giant Uneeda Biscuit.(If you don’t know what that is, you’ll have to Google it.) The flatbread was thin and hard. Likely they were going for crisp. There were a few pieces of dried out chicken, some mozzarella, and a few scraps of tomatoes, nary a blade of basil, with a drizzle of what I assume was Balsamic Vinegar. You can be sure that I will never return to The Cellar.

After having a great couple visits to The Cellar for lunch, my wife and I decided to head back for dinner this past weekend. What a difference(and not a good one)! Granted we popped in on a UK game night, but not a good experience. Service was super slow and our server was very inattentive. Our burgers(the Cellar Burger) were over cooked. We ordered medium and my wife’s burger had no pink and mine had very little. The tater tots and sweet potato fries were ok, but we can get them almost anywhere. I’m downgrading my rating from 5 to 2 stars, mostly because of the service. Not sure if we’ll be back. If we do go back, it will probably be for lunch.

Called ahead and ask if they had room to watch the game and we got here and they do not have room. Not a good way to do business not happy they told me they had seats

Went here for burger week and have been here a few times for trivia. Sat outside at the patio bar. The bartender, Ashley, was kind and helpful. The food, however, is pretty lackluster. The fries are easily something I could make from a frozen bag at home, and the burger was way too done for medium. There was a sad little piece of tomato and lettuce on the burger as well. If a little effort had been put in, it would have been amazing, but instead it was pretty boring. I probably wouldn’t go here unless it was for an event or something similar.

I have always heard about this place so it was nice to finally check it out. I was definitely not expecting such a cool place to come hang out. First I have to say they may have one of the best patios in Lexington, not too many places have them and I love sitting outside on a patio! The inside is large, Lots of seating, and TV’s galore! Great place to watch the Cats no doubt but in sure it gets cray cray busy. I can where with my friends for drinks and apps. The appetizers were really good! The buffalo chicken dip was delish. I honestly did not even look at the rest of the menu which is so strange bc I’m a menu reader! Our waitress was kind of a dip though. Whenever we asked her a question her response was«I don’t know it’s only my second day working here» well okay great but still like answer the question even if you need to go ask someone else be used that is a lame excuse! Our waitress that was training her came over to our table two hours later to make sure we were being taken care of… two hours!!! Oh well! Plan on hitting the patio during the summer and fall!

The food was so bland. Even the fries were blah. No seasoning is used. I could make better food at home. Service wasn’t great either. Ask for a side of dressing didn’t get it till 10 mins later. Asked for water and lemon(I also ordered wine) no lemon and took another 10 to bring that. Added gratuity to our check which I’m pretty sure is no longer legal. I am a server so in pretty lenient about service but this was poor even to my standards. Extremely underwhelmed. Won’t be back.

Great game day atmosphere for UK basketball games. Service is a little slow.

It hurts my heart to post this, as I love the food and atmosphere The Cellar provides. The service on it’s own deserves NOSTARS. We’ve had many work dinners/late-night meetings here and it’s been fine when we’ve been secluded in a separate meeting room, with our own server, but every single time I’ve come just with friends and family to enjoy the evening, the service has SUCKED! I love the food and it’s such a fun place to watch games, which is why I’ve given it so many chances, but after last Thursday my boyfriend and I won’t be back and neither were the 5 other friends we brought with us. The restaurant wasn’t even half full and every single time we wanted something(menus, drinks, silverware, napkins) we would wait 10 minutes and finally I would get up and go ask the waitress. All 7 of us constantly had an empty drink in front of us. The 2 waitresses helping us kept passing us off to each other and kept going back and forth on who was our actual waitress. We didn’t even stay as long as we would have like to drink and enjoy the company of our friends. We could wait to pay and get out of there!

This is my 2nd(maybe 3rd???) visit to The Cellar. Better than average bar food, and decent beer selection. 25+ TVs including a huge projector screen makes it a great place for games. Casual dress, but nice-casual. Most of the patrons are in polos but the few in nice shirts and jeans don’t stand out at all. I would recommend it to any sports fan(or any sports fan’s girlfriend who can’t take another Sunday eating garbage food at BW’s)

Liked the atmosphere for gameday. Very unhelpful staff — turning off a very close SEC conference with 8 minutes to go for pregame coverage will not win over sports fans. I get that it is lexington, but pulling SEC coverage to play Oklahoma makes very little sense if you want to keep non-UK Lex folks coming back…

This is a nice little neighborhood sports bar which is located under the Lansdowne signature club which is a type of country club. You don’t have to be a member there to eat at the restaraunt. They have a nice patio for the summer and usually have local bands playing at different times through the year. Their buffalo chicken sandwich is great with a great buffalo flavor. It comes with big chunks of blue cheese on it which adds a little added punch to the flavor. They have been called the Cellar for a few years now. Although we’ve never come to watch a game here yet, it’s definitely a place to consider with the big bar and all of the TV’s available. They have great happy hour specials as well. 2.00 drafts or bottles and 3.00 wells. Can’t beat a margarita for 3.00.

Newer restaurant so the service hasn’t gotten all of the kinks worked out. Food was excellent and they have a fantastic happy hour. The patio atmosphere is top notch. The bartender Casey was great! Just returned today. A friend and I sat on the patio. The bartender was talking to the only patron at the outside bar. She never acknowledged us. Finally, my friend had to ask her for a server. He came out and we ordered our drinks. He did not put them in for 10 more minutes until another server showed up for her shift. He told her the drinks and he told her completely wrong. The rest of the experience was fine and the food was just average. I was there at happy hour and my check didn’t reflect the happy hour price and on top of that, I was charged $ 2.50 for soda water. I will never be back!

The cellar would earn negative stars if I could give them. When I arrived there were about 10 empty seats at the bar my hubby and I filled 2 of them. We sat for 20 minutes while others arrived and we’re served. Neither of the two bartenders even acknowledged us. I have never been so frustrated. We left without even getting served after 25 minutes. Do not go to this bar if you actually expect to get a drink or any service at all.

This is one of the best and most common places in town to hold a group dinner event. Yesterday was the first day that I ordered food, other than the appetizers that we’ve ordered as a group. I had the turkey avocado wrap and I was satisfied. The food is mostly upscale appetizers and burgers around the $ 10 range. In the summer or warmer months, the patio area often has a band or someone singing and playing a guitar. In the winter months, parking isn’t an issue. I do not get cell phone service down there in the cellar.

I really enjoy the atmosphere of the outdoor patio space. There is often live music in the summertime, and the tables are spaced far enough apart so you can have a conversation without feeling like everyone around is part of your group. Complimentary valet parking too. Happy hour specials until 7:00, and the food I’ve ordered(appetizers since the three times I’ve been have been during happy hour) has been good: bleu cheese chips, mini brauts, flatbread pizza. Service has always been good too. However, The Cellar really excels in atmosphere. Two thumbs up from this gal for overall solid food, good service, affordability and one of the nicer patios in Lexington.

Food was barely warm. Service is awful and the steak I ordered was almost inedible. Why would anyone go here when you could go to Drakes and have an amazing meal for the same price and get cheaper drinks ? The server couldn’t care less about us and it took 45 minutes to get our food.
