My sister and parents live in Lexington so I visit frequently, and I was delighted when my mother told me of a new olive oil shop that would celebrate its grand opening on Black Friday of 2013. We made a special trip to experience it and were delighted we did. Owned by a married couple who visited Italy and fell in love with the olive oils of Tuscany, they invited us to taste any oil or vinegar on the premises and supplied little cups, bread cubes, popcorn, and dark chocolate to use.(If you try the balsamic vinegars they supply ice cream, but we were just interested in the olive oils for that visit.) We sampled multiple olive oils and came away with many bottles between us. Our favorites: the garlic, organic Tuscan herb(tasted like the herbs had just come out of the garden), lemon, blood orange, and butter — which was very tasty with the popcorn samples and later on baked potatoes. I also purchased a bottle of one of their extra virgin olive oils — there had a good variety of those as well, displayed from mild to robust. They’re next door to a large local wine shop which is extra convenient.
