Went here for Fat Tuesday after seeing their flyer for their awesome looking special. For $ 18 you got a pound of boiled crawfish, gumbo, red beans and rice, and red potatoes. I stopped by on my way home from work to take one home to my wife and waited in a long line of people having a great time at Blue Stallion. When I got home, I found one small red potato cut in half, two very sad scoops of rice and gumbo, and just a few crawfish which came out to about 1⁄3 a pound. I might have paid $ 5 for the amount of food that actually came home with me. I should have scoped it out before I left but they were extremely busy and I just figured it might be more than a snack. The crawfish were really good(there was enough for me to try one and still leave my wife with enough food for dinner) but there was nothing worth almost $ 20 about the«platter.»

The Gastro Gnomes are the crown jewel of food trucks. The crew are very friendly and the food is never lacking for diversity, flair, and flavor. I am usually there every Thursday @ Country Boy Brewery to make sure I have my Cliff Jumper and what ever is on the menu of the Gnomes. I can honestly say I have had the best Ramen Noodles, Burger, and 3 of the top 5 wings I have had in my life. There are probably a few I am leaving off, but I encourage you to go down and have dinner one evening. Say hello to the crew and enjoy some great food.

Awesome food truck! Just reading the menu of the day makes your mouth water. They use locally sourced food and can tell you every local farm they work with. The food is creative & delicious. The offerings change daily. These guys are passionate about what they do – and it shows in the quality of the food. They’re outside Country Boy Brewery sometimes. Grab some good food & then get a big beer to wash it down. They’re going to be opening a brick & mortar restaurant. I’m definitely looking forward to that.

We had the egg and avocado slaw burger and the crabby patty. Both were tasty. But in a competition the burger would defeat the crabby patty. It was delicious. One of the best burgers I’ve had.

Two great sandwiches from the gourmetnauts at Gastro Gnomes contended for the title last night at Country Boy Brewing. Reuben Burger is a beast of a ½ lb premium burger topped with corned beef, sauerkraut, cheese, and a touch of thousand island dressing. It has an umami punch and it oozes happiness, especially when cheered on by something rich and dark from Country Boy Brewing. In the other corner, another heavyweight, Pesto Risotto Monte Cristo is an engineering miracle. Creamy risotto, salami, and mozzarella, embraced by texas toast, and fused into a deep-fried delivery pod that’s backed up by a corner man with a bucket of raspberry-dipping sauce. Both champions went the distance and the judges declared the match a draw with equal points awarded to each. Negotiations have been started for a follow-up match.

The only way I have ever liked goat cheese is in the spinach and goat cheese risotto. Fantastic! Mwah! Love the teriyaki mushroom burger too! Perfect crispy outside, perfectly medium inside and covered in umami goodness! I am in love!

Gastro Gnomes is the best food truck ever! I can’t even name all the great food I’ve had from them: seared tuna steak with wasabi mashed potatoes, salmon potato hush puppies, croque madame, cherry vanilla coke panna cotta, and so much more… You can find them at Country Boy on Thursdays and some Saturdays for some delicious beer to go with your food.

Man Candy. They served a dish called Man Candy. I looked closer at the description… To paraphrase, it advertised an inch-thick piece of local bacon drenched in pure maple syrup and topped with walnuts. How could I not order this? It was a little expensive at $ 9.00, but I admit that after my first bite, I could not have cared less. This Man Candy was no less than magic. It was if a herd of majestic narwhals were riding unicorns over my tastebuds and bestowing them with the essence of pure flavor. I’ll probably go back.

Several months ago, after a year fast of no red meat, I started craving a burger. The best decision of my life was to give these guys the honor to ruin it for every place across America who tries to come close to that one burger. It was a half pound burger on a grilled cheese sandwich and believe me when I say that it was The Best Burger Ever. The bad thing is though, since their menu rotates, I’ve never seen it in the menu again. Actually, come to think of it, that’s a blessing in disguise and my arteries thank these culinary geniuses. Last night, they took the prize for the best chicken wrap. Seriously?! An Asian chicken salad wrap with chow mein noodles, to give it an extra crunch. Who thought of that?! And then use wasabi as an ingredient… you get the point. Very rarely can I look at the menu and want to order just one thing… I want everything! If I only order one thing, I’ll never get a chance to try the other things. Please, please, please start doing sample versions of the menu items. I know by now you’d be surprised to learn that they perfect all of that in a food truck, but they do and they do it well. You can usually find them at one of the local breweries. I stalk them, I mean keep up with them on Twitter @eatwelldiehappy

Had this last night for the first time. The blue cheese burger was awesome, and my wife’s pork chop was really good too. We also had some wings, which were kind of bland and oily, but not bad by any means. I’d definitely eat at this food truck again when it’s around! Look for it at some of the breweries in town.

In the middle of our Lexington brewery crawl a few weekends ago we stumbled upon The Gastro Gnomes food truck outside of Blue Stallion Brewing Company. On the menu for the day was a Philly cheese-steak burrito, open-faced ham sandwich, brie burger, grilled cheese, and bread pudding for desert. Of the limited menu offerings, my wife and I could only agree on the«Road to the Final Four Cheese» Grilled Cheese with provolone, Muenster, mozzarella, and cheddar on Texas toast with a smoked tomato soup dunker and gold-fish crackers($ 10). Since we wanted to split something to eat this is exactly what we ordered. Our small group of six placed three separate orders. The two grilled cheese sandwiches were delivered first after a five or ten minute wait. The open-faced ham sandwich took a few minutes longer to be delivered. Overall the food tasted good, though even with the expected higher prices from a food truck I felt that the price tag for a fairly standard grilled cheese was too high. The ham sandwich was a dollar cheaper and seemed to offer a better value. I would skip the grilled cheese and look for other options on the menu.

By far the BEST food truck in town. Would be the BEST restaurant in town too. The southern fried chicken on Saturday at Country Boy Brewing was the best I’ve ever had! Keep up the awesome cooking guys!

Every time I am headed out for a brewery day it is not as much the brews that guide my journey; it is where these guys are. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of our breweries and reviews will be posted. Yet this is a diatribe about some of the best cooking in Lexington! These guys are always coming up with something new, playful or just damn good! I lament when I look at the menu and see things I missed… aka rabbit coq au vin. My friends had some and I drool thinking how good it was. ingredients they use are farm to table and you see the respect they give to high quality and standards. I think the best I have had is a risotto made with Italian sausage and spinach. I remind anyone reading this that this is made in a food truck to perfection! Most brick and mortar restaurants cannot even compare. I am a sucker for good risotto. Try a burger, try desert, any of the dips or basically anything. They have yet to make one single thing I would send back. They always are a great surprise. Kudos to you guys and the last note…#1 Food Truck in Lexington for a damn good reason! Congrats!!!

Literally just finished my burger 5 minutes ago. It was so good I am having a hard time trying to say something between OHMYGOD and Golly Gee Willickers. I was on my way to another restaurant when I saw this place parked near my house and decided I would give it a try. I got the Ghost of the Goat burger and the flavor was intense. Everything on it complimented everything else on it. The goat cheese and the jam just worked so well together. The Cucumber sour cream had a perfect little tang to it. I don’t even really like sour cream and debated on asking for the burger without it. I am glad I didn’t. SO good. I miss it. I am literally sad that my burger is gone and I can no longer eat more of it.

I got to eat here this afternoon for the first time. This was literally the best hamburger I have ever had. If you see this truck parked somewhere I highly recommend that you stop! The menu never gets old because it is never the same. Keep up the good work fellas!

A food truck + passionate cooks = kick-ass food that makes my tummy happy. With their ever changing menu, there is always something that catches my eyes. Most of the time, the food has been worth the money but on a few occasions, I have noticed that the serving size and the execution did not match the price. Apart from these inconsistencies, they are probably one of my favorite food truck in Lexington so far.

First time with The Gastro Gnomes but I hope to catch them again soon. The Pimento and Candied Bacon Burger was Food Porn!!! Perfectly cooked so that it was all juicy inside not to mention hot and sultry. That sweet nectar exploded on my taste buds with every bite. Great job guys.
