Given the number of times we’ve been here(which is in the many manys), I’d like to say we’ve toured the whole menu, the Lady Friend and I, but alas — always, always the combos from the back page. Pro tip — menu reads«lunch combos», but look at the bottom of the page, and you’ll see, in teeny tiny print, that for a mere two dollars more, you can order the same combos for dinner. BOOM! Very good, to very very good, sometimes to great — that’s the spectrum we are working on here. Might be suburban, but definitely have greater aspirations tucked away, though for myself, I usually don’t stray to far from the Americanized stuff(if I’m going to be adventurous, I generally go over to Golden Garden in Belmont), but everything I’ve had has been pretty much the best version of inauthenticity that I’ve found. Only ever take out — dining room spacious if bland, generally empty. And when you come in they pounce — staff is exceptionally friendly, if perhaps a bit too much so at times(I languished a good 45 minutes talking to the woman at the counter about her kids summer camp plans one night, but with almost no appreciable decrease in temp of food when I got home. Hot hot hot!).

The staff at Three Gorges is the real gem. I can’t get over how friendly they are! The pork fried rice is exceptional!

Basic food, but good, generous portions and no skimpy dishes. The Pad Thai is my favorite.

Pretty good and they deliver. We mostly get appetizers so I don’t know that we’ve tried any entrees yet. The miso soup was really watery so not very flavorful. The standards are good and what you’d expect. The people who work here are very nice, both the lady on the phone and the delivery guy. We’ll keep coming here whenever the Chinese food craving hits.

Ordered take out last week. I was pretty disapointed. There seems to be zero options for Chinese food in Arlington. Thank god for all the Sushi and Thai joints. Here is my review of what was ordered… Apps Thai Bean Curd Triangles w/Ginger Sauce — this was just a bunch of deep fried tofu in a box. kind of gross looking. ginger sauce was watered down and not savory at all Crab Rangoon — too much dough, too greasy, dip was like apple sauce Dishes Mangolian Lamb — bland brown sauce, way too many sliced onions Curry Seafood — rubbery scallps, over fried chuncks of fish, curry was not milky it was syruppy like an oyster sauce Bean Curd w/Chinese Greens — same tofu triangles as above, but in a nice sauce with nice greens

I had lunch here today with my husband and was pleasantly surprised. We wanted to eat outside, and figured we would just bring the takeout to our table. The waitress was extremely nice, and offered to bring our food to one of the tables outside. I ordered the chicken with mushrooms lunch special. The meal came with wonton soup and rice, and was absolutely delicious. It wasn’t greasy at all, and the chicken came out perfectly cooked. Three Gorges is conveniently located right near the Minuteman Bike Path. I’ll definitely be back.

They have vegetarian chicken — hooray! I received a menu in the mail a few weeks ago and my eyes list up when I saw they had vegetarian chicken entrees. Not only that, but they have lunch specials seven days a week. Ever since that day I’ve been plotting to go. Yesterday won. We stopped for lunch on our way to Wilson Farm. The place wasn’t that busy, but that didn’t worry me. We were greeted instantly and got to pick our seat. Within seconds there was tea and water on the table and menus in our hands. I asked the woman about the hot and sour soup and if it was vegetarian, she said yes, I was psyched. I ordered the General Gau’s Veggie Chicken lunch special. It came with hot and sour soup, rice(I went with white, but you could also get fried), and a spring roll(crab rangoon was the other option). All that food was $ 6.50, a total bargain! I love meals with soup because when you’re hungry it always arrives right away. Their soup was good, in fact I wouldn’t mind a bowl right now! As soon as that was finished out came our massive plates of food. While mine was no where near healthy, it was definitely delicious. I ate what I could and took the rest home with me. This is easily the type of place where you could get one of these meals and split it and still be completely full. That’s the plan for next time, but with an extra hot and sour soup as I don’t want to split that!

This is one of my favorite chinese places… everything is very fresh and prepared lightly — so you don’t get that terrible«why did I eat that?» feeling that often accompanies chinese takeout. The shrimp with broccoli is outstanding and the tangerine chicken is really excellent(chicken lightly sauteed with cucumbers, pineapple and a few other veggies in a tangerine sauce). The sichuan spicy dumplings are delicious — give them a shot. Unfortunately, I do not recommend the Thai-style noodle dishes, which I find to be a bit bland. Service is very friendly(they know me by name now) and on the rare occasions when I wait a few minutes for my takeout they always offer me tea while I wait. Great place!

I grew up in Lexington and always drove by, walked by and biked by this place but never stopped in. Back in those day it was called Asia Café or something. A few months ago my family really wanted to go to the Mexican restaurant Ixtapa which is next door and then we went again a couple of weeks ago. I never thought too highly of Ixtapa so when I saw Three Gorges that time, I decided it was time to go the next time I was in the area. The place is pretty baron. Not a dive but not decorated either. Standard wooden tables, metal chairs with cushions and a floor made from the red restaurant kitchen tiles. The server who I believe is the owner was extremely sweet and energetic. The menu is pretty standard but they did have a few Thai items on it. The hot and sour soup was nothing to brag about. It had a trace of burned flavor, too much apple cider vinegar, and it sorely lacked those lovely woodear mushrooms. The rest of what we ordered was of very good quality — vegetable fried rice, chicken fingers, orange flavored beef and tangerine chicken. The portions were also very generous! This isn’t a place that I’d recommend to dine at. But for take-out this place trumps all the other Chinese restaurants in town.
