I really like triangle park. It’s my favorite downtown space in Lexington. The waterfalls always look so pretty. The holiday tree lighting and other events held in the park are nice.

Triangle park has gone through a bit of a make-over in the last few years but I’m not sure if I completely like this newer version. Once surrounded by tall trees that gave it a real«park feel», triangle park is currently a open grassy area with ample seating options facing the beautiful downtown fountain. Its openness allows it to be an ideal location for outdoor movie showings and winter skating events. However, when I come here to read or relax, the same open layout makes me feel like I’m being watched by every person that drives by. Since downtown Lexington doesn’t have many other park options, this place still earns the 4 stars for providing something unique.

If you’re a Lexingtonian, you know Triangle Park and it’s fountain and landscaped beauty in the heart of downtown. Did you know all that it has to offer? In the summer months there is Free Fountain Films on Fridays, Sunrise Yoga and fitness Boot Camp. In the winter months you will find an outdoor skating rink, and a huge Christmas tree accompanied with a festival. It’s the most common place in Lexington for prom goers and graduates in their cap and gowns, and many other people to pose for pictures in front of the fountains. To us it’s one of the most beautiful places in Lexington, maybe because it’s in the heart of downtown, overlooked by so many Lexington attractions like Victorian Square, The Lexington Center, Rupp Arena, and the downtown hotels. Don’t be surprised when you can’t find the lightbulb display mentioned by another Unilocaler, it was only a temporary art exhibit. No, you won’t find things that you would in a typical park, but it’s our version of Central Park. Check out the website for events and more

I first saw Triangle Park at night and it is quite pretty with the water fountain and unique big bright ball of lightbulbs. I came back again in the daytime the next day and it was not as breathtaking as it was the night before. It is a small park with a grass area and a few benches for you to sit and enjoy the day outside. Other than that, there isn’t much to do/see here.
