I love Blue Violet Salon! Amanda always makes my hair look amazing! And the owner, Andrea, is the best! They always know what’s best for my hair and always give me good tips and tricks!

I needed to find a new salon that wasn’t super expensive. I decided to check out Blue Violet and got a haircut by Amanda. She did a wonderful job and now I’ve seen her for several other services, which each time being fantastic. The price is right and the staff are great!

As good a cut as exists. Andrea has cut my hair for years, and even though I’ve moved farther and farther away, and have lived in New York for the past year, I refuse to let anyone else touch my hair. Andrea puts an incredible amount of thought and care into my cut. When I first started coming to her, we thoroughly discussed my preferences, and she keeps detailed notes to track how short I went on my previous cut to ensure that my haircut is consistent. She always takes her time getting my cut just right and making sure that my hair is layered and shaped in such a way, that when it grows out, it continues to look well styled naturally. Andrea’s skills are a gift to her craft.

I loved this place. I had Ashley who has been doing hair for about seven years and I could tell she was definitely an expert. I came in with a few pictures that I had found on pinterest of medium-​short length edgy bobs and she tailored the look to me perfectly. She knew how to work with my thick hair and even gave me some great advice on hair management. I wish I had found this place two years ago!

I was visiting out of state and needed highlights re-​touched VERY badly. Was referred to this place and I wish they were in Arizona! Very cheap I paid $ 80 since my hair so long and normally in AZ I pay at least $ 120! The coloring was on point beyond perfect. I never do reviews this is my 3^rd since opening account. I only do a review when the business is A++. This was for sure!

Everyone is sooooo nice here, even Bobbi and Andrea who don’t do my hair. I have my hair colored and cut by Tatiana. She is so very talented. I’ve gotten the best color and cut I’ve ever had in my life. I would unequivocally endorse Tatiana to do your hair. She is very nice, is a great hairdresser, and is reasonabley priced. I will never go anywhere else she is so good with hair.

I had my hair highlighted and bangs fixed by Amanda. She’s young nonetheless very talented & knowledgable in all things. I showed her a picture of caramel haircolor with eye grazing bangs & two visits later she made it happen! She also gave me some really great advice on caring for my double processed hair. I’m surprised it feels so jealthy. She definetely knows her stuff & works with you to get you exactly what you want. Highly recommend you do a consultation with her, she listens so well!

Absolutely fantastic for its price! My younger sister, who is 14, got a hair cut from Tatyana (not sure the spelling) and came out looking even more fabulous with her cute bouncy new hair style. I loved that we walked in with tentative ideas for what my younger sister wanted and Tatyana listened patiently to us. I was even more impressed the effort she put in, she listened well and stuck through blow drying my sister’s hair at the end (which is not a simple feat, her hair is ridiculously thick). Also she reminded us about the first customer coupons so don’t forget to print it out or mention it if you decide to try this hair salon!

I’ve had my hair styled and colored by Bobbi LaBelle at this location for almost 10 years; when it was formerly CONCEPTS, and now BLUE VIOLET. Even though I live in Chicago, traveling up to Libertyville is worth the trip not only for Bobbi’s personal touch, but the overall salon environment and the enthusiastic leadership of Andrea, and collaboration from other staff.
My stylist, Bobbi LaBelle has 30 years of experience but don’t let age fool you; she is just as young at heart as everyone else at the salon. In November I had the «interview of a lifetime» in NYC and went to Blue Violet to update my style and color (after all, I was going to NYC!). My visit was extremely delightful, and the service I received exceptionally personalized and polished. What I most remember is how Bobbi and Andrea collaborated together on my color to ensure I was not only happy, but that I looked my absolute best. Their personal care and enthusiasm to make things happen resulted in a stunning result; considering I’ve dyed my own hair at times to save money, they helped me look polished, poised and «current».
If you go to Blue Violet, you will find a contemporary and comfortable place to not only give yourself a treat, but also to be treated with style. Selfishly I suggest asking for Bobbi because of both her experience, personal care, and how current she stays on styles, colors and trends. As an example, I was once in a Kirk Player’s stage production that called for me to have very long, curly hair (I have shoulder length). Not wanting to wear a wig, Bobbi learned how to do extensions, which stayed in for 6 weeks straight through the entire production!
Andrea owns a lovely shop and all of her staff are talented, congenial and a pleasure to be around. If you are looking for your forever home when it comes to hair care in the North Suburbs, this is the place for you.
P. S.: I GOT THE JOB in NYC! Although I’m moving there this month, you can bet I’m coming home every few months not only to visit friends, but also for a trip to see Bobbi, Andrea and staff at Blue Violet!

I wanted to love this place because Tatyana is so nice. But my hair came out just OK — not bad, but not great either — which was more noticeable as the color and cut grew out. For basic cuts and color, this place might be fine. But for difficult hair (in my case, very fine, layered hair), go to someone with more experience.

I need the obligatory post-​wedding haircut and had only a vague idea of what I wanted. Andrea was fantastic — she made suggestions, checked in as she worked, and gave me exactly what I needed to freshen up my look.
I also had my eyebrows waxed while I was there and it may be the best eyebrow shaping I’ve had done in years. Tatiana (I hope I’m spelling that right) did an excellent job — and was hilarious.
I already made my next appointment…

I moved here from SF last year and had a bit of a challenge finding the perfect salon until I finally found BVS. The owner Andrea Johnson and her staff are lovely and absolute pros. The haircuts and highlights I get are perfect… I highly recommend this salon
