Remember coming here as a child & not much has changed (good & bad) Lemon meringue pie is out of this world!!! Breakfasts are excellent as well.
Service is spotty. Some of the staff is very conscientious, others don’t seem to care.
Seems cleaner than I remember but would appreciate if the staff did not use a stiff bristle straw broom to «sweep» carpeting while I’m eating one table away.
Gross to see particles of ?? floating in air as she «cleaned». Buy a dyson please!
Would return for food, but will get it to go if it’s cleaning time.

This is a true diner in every respect. If the old adage that you’ll know a good diner if there are 18 wheelers parked outside holds true, then this is a great diner.
Don’t expect anything special as far as ambiance is concerned; it’s a diner. If you want a quick meal with friendly service, then be sure to stop in. It’s a local gathering spot for breakfast meetings and other small gatherings, and it is a local institution. It’s a must, unless you feel you’re too good for a diner. You’ll always know that the food will be consistently decent and hot, and the service will be courteous and quick! I love it!

Been going here for about 10 years and I just can’t complain. Yes it gets busy and it’s not always comfortable but the food is good old home cooking like grandma’s! Also it’s super cheap and HUGE portions!

Thank God. Praise Allah. Ruthies diner has my heart. This place is Ligonier’s little secret. This place is like ollies if it was a restaurant-​good food cheap. Seriously if you spend more than $ 10 here, you’re doing something wrong. The service is usually quick and friendly. The food, while not gourmet is just good home cooking. Looks out for breakfast specials, they’re always great. Also, grab a smooth glass of buttermilk while you’re there, since many places don’t offer this anymore. Don’t let the exterior fool you; Ruthies diner is a great place for good Food cheap.

Terrible service! The only time we saw our waitress was when she took our order and brought our food. She never came back to refill our drinks or warm my coffee. We had to go to the counter to get our check. The food was okay and cheap but when you don’t have good service that ruins everything! I’d rather pay a few more dollars to get a coffee refill, a smile and a thank you! We won’t be back and by the looks of a the customers around us, they won’t be either!

Won’t be doing this again. Been here lots of times. It’s always busy but at least servers are typically polite. Today sat down. She came to take our order. Brought our drinks and food. I said thank you. No response. Sis said thank you and she said uh huh as she walked away. We never saw her again. Food was decent diner food per the norm. Sister ran out of coffee. My iced tea was gone. Mom had a tiny oj and nothing after. We waited for our check. She never came around. We finally got up and waited at register for check. She brought it over and said sorry ladies. They have a sign at the register saying we can’t please everyone every day. Today isn’t your day. Tomorrow isn’t looking good either. How fitting! We won’t be back.

A monk took me there for breakfast after church – this guy knows good food and a good value! Enjoyed the hospitality and the food was home cooking. Everyone was very nice. Look forward to coming back with my friend next time I’m in the area. Cash only!

I didn’t expect much from Ruthie’s. but what I got was inexpensive, and really good. For just under 14 bucks 3 of us ate full meals that were quality, and well made. I love diners, and try to hit them up anytime I’m traveling. This diner will not disappoint. Good food at a great price what more could you ask for?

Went to Ruthie’s one time. It was basically just your run of the mill kind of diner restaurant. It wasn’t the cleanest place in town, but the prices were right. The food kind of gave me heartburn, and the people working there weren’t the friendliest people in the world, but I guess it was worth what we paid.

Okay, you don’t go to Ruthies for fancy lace tablecloths, beautiful atmosphere, or fine dining; you go to Ruthies for great food at a great price. I’ve been eating at Ruthies for years and always have had a great meal.
Their breakfast fare is excellent and I would suggest trying the «Farmers Omelet» if you are an omelet fan.

kinda a place for oldsters but if you like good food at a very good price, go there. everything is real homemade with a diner feel up front and dining in the back. the other poster is right, this place can be packed from open to closed but the service is prompt and friendly in a diner kinda way. a++
