We stopped here for lunch while shopping in the area. I had the crab sliders. My husband had a beet salad and«The Main Melt». Everything was great. A nice place to stop in for a bite!

This is a little gold mine. Service is excellent and the girls are very friendly. Food is definitely a five star rating. If ever in Ligonier you must visit.

Just left from a delicious lunch! The crabcake sliders were the best I have ever had! The rest of my party also loved their meals. Great casual atmosphere, quick service, friendly staff and excellent food! You can’t go wrong with this pick. I will definitely make it a point to return if we find ourselves anywhere near Ligonier in the future.

If you haven’t experienced The Kitchen On Main you owe it to yourself to go. The atmosphere and food is exceptional. The price point is perfect, not to expensive, for the setting and the food. While a table will suffice you should really sit at the counter. It’s there that you can watch the 4 chefs prepare the dishes. It is poetry in motion. Walk, bike, or drive to this place. You won’t be disappointed. The food is cooked to perfection and the service is friendly and polite.

Food good, service unfriendly. Don’t ask for a side of mayo or you will be told to taste your food first and get a lecture. If you ask for a slice of tomato you won’t get it. Generally pretty snobby and not service oriented. Don’t ask for any change whatsoever. Like a different bun. If you have any food restrictions don’t eat here. If. Don’t ask for a coffee refill either It is sad because Ligonier is a lovely place in need of more restaurant options.

We found this place while on a trip to see Falingwater and the Flight 93 memorial and it was a real treat. The butternut squash ravioli was crispy and served on arugula. The heirloom tomato salad was delightful, the crab and asparagus Mac and cheese was delicious and rich. The short ribs were a bit more stringy than we liked but flavorful and the watermelon and dried cherry salad with them was great. We finished with lemon and hazelnut cookies with vanilla bean ice cream and blueberry compote. I recommend this place highly. The alcohol policy is BYOB.

Finally found a place where dogs are allowed when I’m sitting outside. The servers were friendly and immediately welcomed us. We had the ham and Brie with sliced apples, Benedict, and house salad. It was all AMAZING. Don’t cut yourself short on the sweet potato fries either. Crunchy, lightly salted, delicious.

Exceptional food and service. We stopped in for Saturday lunch and had a variety of delicious selections. I can strongly suggest the house-smoked salmon in/on anything you may choose. We shall gladly return. We hear the Sat/Sun breakfast is excellent, particularly the pancakes!

Came here for lunch based on positive Unilocal reviews. I was not disappointed, as it was probably the best all-around dining experience I had on my recent weeklong vacation. I enjoyed a Main Melt with Parmesan herb fries, both of which were delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Love the open, spotlessly clean kitchen and the casual décor was nice as well. It can get a bit spendy if you go for the higher-priced items — my burger and fries was $ 15, for example — but well worth the extra few bucks.

Oh my. Another unexpected find. The burrata and heirloom tomato salad was spectacular! Perfectly spiced and fresh. Perfect weather and seating on the sidewalk and around the building left plenty of room to enjoy it. It would be tough to make a suggestion so they have to get five stars. If you aren’t going to Ligonier but even passing by, stop there. It’s worth it.

Eating at this restaurant is a wonderful experience. Our most recent visit was for an early dinner on a Friday. We were able to get a reservation on short notice and when we decided that we would like to eat at an outside table instead of in a booth that was reserved for us, the staff was happy to accommodate us. We were the only party eating outside and the service was excellent. For this visit, we were three adults and a toddler. We requested that our toddler’s dish be brought as soon as possible and the order was pushed through quickly. Our salads were bright and beautiful and lightly dressed. Our entrees were equally beautifully plated and delicious. I had the Roasted Mahi Mahi Tacos with roasted corn and avocado guacamole that were outstanding. My daughter had Honey Chili Glazed Yellow Fin Tuna which she said was excellent. My husband ordered the special of the day, Crusted Halibut served on Sweet Potato purée that he loved even though he doesn’t normally like sweet potatoes. The Parmesan Herb Fries are a must-order. You get a huge bowl of fries with a generous sprinkling of herb infused parmesan cheese. From where we live it is over an hour’s drive to Ligonier, but so worth it to eat at the Kitchen on Main. We would recommend it to highly.

Oh my god this place is good. I was in town for work and hadn’t ate at all that day. Unilocal really came through on this one. The main melt is one of the top 10 burgers I have ever had in my life(no joke). Next time I’m in town or within 20 miles i will stop by again and hopefully for breakfast. This place is that good!

So yummy. We came in on Mother’s Day on our way through Lingonier from Bedford Springs. The menu is small but has a wonderful selection of high quality and tasteful items. We were worried about the wait but in 10 minutes Terri had us seated and was getting us drinks. Highly recommend this delightful restaurant.

Excellent food and service. Reg and Farmers Egg Benedict(and the hash browns that came with) delicious. Breakfast Pizza very good. Ham and brie sandwich outstanding. Love that Unilocal helps you find great places even in the middle of nowhere.

The Kitchen on Main(Street) in Ligonier was recommended to me by the folks at Valley School as being the best place in the area for lunch. They knew from what they spoke. This is a warmly decorated, large front windowed, long countered, open kitchened, and French-feelinged, restaurant where daily creativity is on the menu. They erected a half glass wall between the patrons at the counter and the hot stove within touching distance, just so the urge to reach out and grab a hot skillet would be stymied. But, it does not inhibit the salivary reaction to all the great things going on behind the glass. I ate my very enjoyable lunch special Fish and Chips and a cup of Onion Soup Gratinee, as they were preparing the Roast Fingerling Potatoes for dinner. I had first hand experience of why that wall was installed. The service was great, friendly and informative. The people there obviously enjoyed their work. My meal was very good. The Cod had a light herbed shell that easily broke apart when picked up with fork. They had an interesting spicy Tartar Sauce, and when asked, they gave me a small dish of Balsamic Vinegar for dipping, as I prefer that to the mayo and relish I was expecting. I used both and even mixed them together. Both were fine. This was not an inexpensive repast, as I dropped about $ 20 with the tip. Still, for a meal that good, in a town this historic and attractive, on a vacation weekend… What the hey?! I would do it again, and probably will.

Good food. But doesn’t deserve 5 stars. For my first dinner here: salad plus salmon entrée plus tip was $ 38. Both good. On my second visit, I had the hummus and olive appetizer — wow! I recommend it — I loved the warm olives. Getting a table here, the conversation both times has been somewhat unwelcoming. I was told something like«You don’t have a reservation? You could sit at the counter. … Or if you promise to be quick, we can seat you at a table, but that table is reserved at 8». Their desserts are overcomplicated. Most of them come with caramel sauce. For example, the menu lists«Roasted Apple & Brie Strudel with candied Walnut Caramel Sauce & Vanilla Bean Ice Cream». If it had been apple strudel with optional ice cream I would have ordered it(without the ice cream), but caramel sauce is just too much.

The Kitchen is a great place to eat for all meals. In fact, it is the only restaurant of its kind in the area, meaning the food is fresh and time was put into creating it. I had the mushroom ravioli which was phenomenal, and the portion was perfect. The setting is cozy and casual, but the menu is unique and staff has etiquette of a top– shelf restaurant. The place is also BYOB, which is a nice touch because it keeps the overall meal price lower. I highly recommend it to anyone passing through route 30!

The first place we visited on a weekend get away and decidedly the best restaurant in town! The meal started with soups. Warm, hearty and so flavorful; he had the tomato basil and I had the Tuscan chicken. Perfect on a cold winter day. The lunch entrees were salmon burger with the sweet potato fries, and the pear salad with grilled chicken added(sorry, I forgot the names of dishes on the menu). We were both very pleased with the wonderful tastes and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere and service were both great — we sat at the table near the hostess station next to the sweet little mini fireplace heater. We loved it here and will definitely visit again! Don’t waste time deciding where to eat, just go to the Kitchen on Main. You won’t be disappointed!
