Visited this shop today for a memory card. Very knowledgeable and friendly shop owner. Beautiful custom jewelry. Reasonable prices.

Much to my surprise I needed a cr1220 battery for my camera to retain the date/​time. What a hassle when I’m in Kauai on vacation and having plenty of scenes to capture. I went to many stores where I was sure they would have it but no luck. Finally I searched for a camera store and found Don’s. He had the battery and helped me pull out the old one. He has lots of retro/​antique cameras and nice jewellery. Very small parking lot. Holds 2.5 cars. Don’t blink or you will miss it. Like others he saved my vacation to the extent that I didn’t have to wait days for one to be delivered. Thanks Don!

NB-​6L battery died. Replacements are about $ 10 – 20 on Amazon. It was $ 50 including tax at Dons. So in a pinch, I would go here, since Walmart and Radio Shack are poor alternatives. But be prepared to pay more than you should.

We walked into Don’s with my Canon 50D DLSR Camera in April 2015. The Compact Flash slot had 3 bent (2 severely) pins in need of straightening. Without the camera’s use, a beautiful vacation would be ruined from Day 1. While Don couldn’t perform the repair himself due to limitations of type of the damage, he did let me use his tools and magnifying glasses for my friend & I to do the repair ourselves. In total, my friend & I spent about an hour in his shop. All the while, we learned a lot about Hawaiian culture and some local history. Does anyone know Don’s grandfather was a Hollywood stuntman?
At the end, the camera’s pins were fixed to accept the CF Card. We also purchased (no, Don, did not hard sell at all) some polarized filters for my camera’s lenses, which have resulted in many lovely pictures!
This is the kind of service a person simply cannot get from a big box-​style store.
Without this kind of attention & support, this vacation would have been less so.

Wasn’t too hard to find, but it is set back if cars are parked it may be hard to see. Small dated store. I needed a lens cover and found what I was looking for. I then asked about a UV protector and they didn’t have a standard but the owner (lady) upsold me on a polarized. UV cover. Merry Christmas to me ! I am so glad she did as we were driving up Wiamea Canyon and came upon a break in the rain over a gorgeous canyon complete with a waterfall and an amazing rainbow !!! The polarized cover was great a spin on it and you could pull the colors — it was meant to be !

We had the misfortune of damaging the UV lens on our camera but luckily Unilocal led us to Don’s who made it like new with a new one in 5 mins and saved the day!

Thank goodness for small businesses. They had the camera lens caps we needed. Couldn’t find them anywhere else in town. The place is easy to find and friendly. The place is old and run down, but not a big deal when they have what you need.

Mahalo to Don for getting me out of a jam when I packed the wrong camera battery charger for our trip to Kauai. He carries a universal charger that works for all digital camera batteries. He even showed me how to use it. My vacation is saved! Don is the best! :)

Don’s was a vacation saver! We forgot our camera charger. No store seemed to have it; not Radioshack, not Wallmart, not K-​mart. But, this place did. The friendly woman working there not only had universal chargers, but also took the time to show us exactly how to use it and connected our camera battery for us! Thanks to her, we have many additional high-​quality pictures from our trip!

Thanks to this great local camera store for rescuing me when I left my camera battery charger on the mainland a couple of weeks ago — on a Saturday, too. Dons not only had what I needed, they helped me set up and get my battery charging on a universal charger. And, a car charger was included. Reasonable price, great service, super friendly and helpful!

Don’s Camera & Jewelry Center is the best place to fix jewelry & camera problems! The owners are very nice & helpful. I highly recommend this store! It’s a local business & I support local products!

Unimpressed. Old equipment, no new technology, 95% jewelry/​thrift store, 5% camera kiosk. Folks there weren’t as helpful. Better off going online.

Great place to get photo equipment and also sells jewelry .
I was looking for a replacement for a broken lens cap. Don found one for me and suggested a cord that attaches the lens cap to the lens so it won’t get lost. He also cleaned the lens for me. He is a nice guy and a good conversationalist. I am very glad I did not choose a «big box» store when shopping for a lens cap.
