First of all, Apple maps is wrong about the location of this place. So if you’re driving around looking for it– you might want to google the address again. As for the food, my boyfriend liked it and I didn’t. I’m rating this place 4-stars because the quality of fish is good and the price is reasonable.

While on Kaua’i for a business trip, i needed a good & cheap place to eat for lunch. Thank you to Unilocal for always providing the best selection of places to eat! I stumbled upon Konohiki Seafoods and the pics won me over. It reminded me of a Tanioka’s. First off, I felt bad because we got there about 15min before closing and they had a line. I orded the pork laulau plate: HUGE laulau, rice, lomi salmon, and kimchee tako poke. Everything was delicious! The laulau was packed with meat(& very little fat) and the perfect amount of luau leaf. I also tried a couple bites of the poke bowl w/sushi rice and it was so good. They mix the poke for the bowls by the order which keeps the fresh taste of the ahi. On our way out, they called for us to come back in and they gave us a bag of wontons!!! That was so nice of them! The wontons had a flavorful filling and they were fried perfectly! The store was very clean! And the stuff was really nice despite us coming late. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m on Kaua’i!

Poke bowls were so good. Fresh, excellent, fast! Visiting from out of town, we took a gamble on this new market on a quest for the freshest poke in town. We stepped in, and got in line. It was 2pm, you know it’s good if it’s there’s a line outside lunch rush. We were coming for one thing so, but were tempted by fresh offerings. Reasonably priced, spiced nice, and couldn’t be fresher unless you caught it yourself! Dreaming of the poke bowl for months to come.

it’s safe to say that all of us kama’aina were pretty bummed to hear about the closing of ara’s sakana-ya! however, konohiki seafoods has taken the place of our beloved. i am super stoked to say that konohiki seafoods does it right! they still offer an amazing selection of fresh, perfectly cut and seasoned poke, along with a variety of other plate lunch specials! my favorite thing so far is that they’ve recreated the famous hanamaulu chicken(ginger fried chicken) as well as shrimp! their wonton are also delectable! if you’re on your way… coming or going, stop by and check them out!

This place was a quick five minute drive away from our resort so we stopped by two times during our vacation to grab a few things back to enjoy. Unfortunately, we went toward the end of the business hours on both occasions and a few of the items were sold out already. Nevertheless, the things that we ordered including Ahi Poke, Chirashi, Fried Ginger Shrimps tasted great and were competitively priced.

My hubby and I stumbled across this local place after visiting Wailua Falls. Despite only having one review on Unilocal,we decided to give it a try and we are so glad we did. The food was ono! Not only was the family running it very friendly, their Poke was among the freshest/best we have had. The food is take home only, but don’t let that stop you!

A significant other can walk out on you when you do not change something about you that does not sit right. Or sometimes they walk out on you to change themselves. Flavor. Texture. Service. Ara’s Sakana-Ya closed on October 25, 2015, and yet Konohiki Seafood opens, taking its place. Some of the Ara’s staples come along with it – Hamachi, tako, and ahi poke. Spicy tuna don(poke bowl). It makes you feel so comfortable, it’s as if a loved one never left. But most importantly, Konohiki brings back a long-lost love – ginger fried chicken that is reminiscent of Hanamaulu Café’s legendary fried chicken. Classic. Simple. Back here forever.
